Alex got a couple of hits in but she couldn't dodge the tongue at such close proximity. She also needed to avoid the black ink which was probably poison, so she started running.

At this point, she could only hope that Luo Zu attacked the beast with everything he got so that at least her running back and forth like this holding her life in her palm didn't turn out to be an utter waste.

However, as she turned around and saw, the guy was still on the ground and had collapsed.

"LUO ZU! Get the hell up and fight!" Alex shouted in exasperation, but there was no answer from the other party.

"If you don't cooperate now, you will pay for this later! Mark my words!" She gritted her teeth and warned him.

This time she looked closer and she could see that the guy was already down and probably did not even hear her. He also had some black substance covering him.

Venom! Alex shuddered and ran faster. If he was really down, then it would only be a matter of seconds before she fell as well.

With everything around her simply looking like a frozen hell, she couldn't tell heads from tails and which direction she was running in. She just blindly ran.

The frog faced snake also did not relent and continued chasing her, sticking its tongue out every few minutes.

Alex had to avoid this also and she was going crazy juggling everything and at the same time, her energy as well was running out.

The snow and the chilly air already made her weak and lethargic but now she was beginning to feel even worse and exhausted. There was only so much she could do by herself.

"FUCK! FUCK! FUCK!" She shouted loudly, cursing her bad luck for being separated from everyone. Just what the hell were they even doing?

At every single turn and the big clusters of trees she ran into, she hoped that someone would show up around the corner, perhaps a big black wolf, and save the day.

However… even after a few minutes… no such thing happened.

Alex was really on her last scraps of battery and she was on the verge of shutting down any time now. At a point, she just couldn't move any longer.

"Damn it. Am I really going to die just like this?" Tears started falling down her eyes at the thought of how a frog was going to eat her as if she was an insect.

She was going to die like an orphan without anyone else beside her.

Fuck! The others were also probably going to join her soon!

"Ahhh! Damn it! Why did everything turn out this way?" She banged on the frozen ground as she heard the unmistakable rumbling sounds behind her.

The frog snake chimera was here! She was going to die!

Alex looked behind to see a dirty green colored silhouette and her body trembled.

Just as she was about to give up and close her eyes, she caught sight of a sort of black smoke at the corner of her eyes.

Huh? Alex quickly stood up, mustering whatever she had left.
It looked as if someone was burning something and smoke was rising up in the air. A distress signal or perhaps a method to let others know of the location?

She had no idea what that was but she was not ready to give up and submit without finding out about it.

She clutched her chest and ran forward in the direction of the smoke.

Since it was in the other direction, this was also very risky as now the distance between herself and the frog faced snake was getting smaller and smaller.

But she did not care. It wouldn't matter even if she put more distance between herself and the monster. She was already out of juice and it was going to catch her and eat her soon.

At least this way, even if it was risky, she might still somehow be able to get help and persevere. Alex was not sure if she was thinking clearly.

She just simply kept running towards the smoke. The froggy snake as well chased behind her closely, its tongue hitting the trees next to her as she narrowly missed the attacks.

She ran and ran and ran and finally when she reached the sight of the smoke, her feet stuck to the frozen ground. Alex stood still staring ahead in shock.

In front of her was an entire colony of frost orcs. They were sitting in a circle around a huge bonfire and doing some sort of weird dancing.

In the middle, there were a couple of dead polar bears hanging on a huge stick, being roasted in the fire wholly as if they were pigs or rabbits.

Her stunned face slowly broke into a smile as she gulped and looked back. "You wanted food you fucking frog? Go eat all these damned orcs!"

Alex willed her body and ran once again, this time directly towards the bunch of orcs.

She sent a bang of fire with the last bits of mana she had and blasted the two polar bears, all their set up breaking apart and things falling in different places.

KRAAAA! SHRRR! KEIIUUKKK!

The orcs immediately fell into chaos and they all stood up to see who was the intruder. To their surprise, there was only one woman standing in front of them.

She also looked weak and was bleeding.

But just as they were about to rejoice at the good luck of their prey walking over to them, suddenly another thing popped out, something gigantic and green.

"Do you guys like frog meat? How about snake meat? Here eat your fill of both!"

Alex did not stop and continued running past them without looking back. She could hear terrifying roars and angry sounds echoing behind her but she didn't turn back at all.

She only stopped after she made sure that she had put the orcs in between the frog faced snake and herself and turned around to see the aftermath.
