Reincarnated as a Dog with System

Chapter 81 - Splitting The Loot? Part2

"Huh?"

"…"

"Ummm…"

"…"

"…"

The crowd dumbfoundedly looked at Qin Hua who was busily emptying out all the fallen corpses like a roadside bandit.

But after having just now fought with the giant boas with their own lives on the line, how could everyone still remain silent?

"Lu Chen! You need to call your dog back!" Someone shouted.

"Young man we all fought with the beasts. We all risked everything. The meat needs to be properly divided and shared." One of the elders argued.

"Yes. Yes. this is not fair. Just because that dog is also a mutated beast, did you think that we won't fight back?"

"We just took down four giant snakes, we can surely take care of a measly dog! Hmph." A healthy-looking middle-aged mother added. This was also the same person who was dissatisfied with Qin Hua taking the mattress.

"Eh? What are you all talking about? That dog did the lion's share of the work? Just be patient for a while. I am sure that they will distribute some of it." A young woman tried to support Qin Hua but she was quickly shot down.

"Shut up, Xiao Xi. You don't know anything. In the middle of the fight, how can you tell who contributed more and who contributed less?"

"The fair thing would be to settle everything equally among ourselves so we can all grow stronger together."

"You are correct, big Wan. In the future, stronger beasts might come and we all need to be prepared."

"Don't forget that little Shi Shi and Xiao Bai lost their parents in the fight. They need to be looked after by someone else now and that family obviously deserves more compensation."

The people in the second group continued voicing out their opinions and everyone either said something or remained silent as they all wanted a bigger share in the end.

They were all very hungry as well which made things that much worse. The crowd quickly turned rowdy, especially after remembering the mana cores from the boas.

As Qin Hua was about to deal with the last two boa heads, that laid on the ground lifelessly with its eyes squeezed, flesh mashed, and bloody tongue rolling out, the shouts and protests increased, with several people even standing to stop her.

Bing Che could only helplessly look at Lu Chen, who simply smiled. The truth was that all these people could do was complain using words. What else could they possibly do against 'little white'?

Even he was not sure that he had a say in anything. So Lu Chen continued to calmly rest and did not even bother arguing with these people. Rather he was engrossed in a certain another issue, a very important one at that!

He was worried that staying together in a big group like this might not be the best idea…

Not because of the general ungratefulness, greed, and stupidity that seemed to be rampant but because he had a feeling that big crowds attracted bigger and more dangerous beasts.

In fact, continuing to stay here even for a second more was directly putting their lives at risk.

On the other hand, moving around everywhere with Su Yan still unconscious was also risky, but right now it looked like that was the better option.

Lu Chen sighed and silently pondered… where would they even go now? His own family stayed further up north and it would take 5 hours by flight to reach them. Were they all alright?

He quietly watched the show and kept an eye on the surroundings as well.

On the other hand, Alex, Xu Meilin, and even Guan Ye looked a lot more nervous and restless.

"Everybody. Please calm down for a bit. Don't make so much noise." Alex stood up and tried her best, but no one seemed ready to listen to her.

Bing Che and a few others including Mo Ling as well stood up and tried to get the situation under control. However, everyone was simply too riled up to listen to them.

Qin Hua, meanwhile, threw a lazy glance at the mob. She wanted to get this over with fast because she hadn't even seen the rest of the level-up upgrades yet. She now had a lot of skill points and was ready to go on a shopping spree.

She grabbed one of the boa heads by her mouth and casually tossed it towards Lu Chen who immediately looked up at her in confusion.

Are you sure? He didn't say it out loud but Qin Hua bobbed her head up and down anyways.

The others dumbfoundedly stared back and forth between the two and everything happened too fast for them to even interrupt or have a say. They could once again only silently watch.

Lu Chen as well didn't hesitate and quickly went in for the kill. He reached his hand inside the messy flesh and bones cavity and plucked out the mana core.

The white orb glittered in the sunlight as it dissolved in its hand within a second. A bolt of energy zapped him, making his body shudder.

He was brimming with energy from top to bottom and he had to stand up and jump up and down to relieve the restlessness.

Coincidentally, another group of birds flew towards them.

"I will take care of this." Lu Chen smirked and instantly a dozen ice spears materialized near him, shooting towards the birds with extreme accuracy and speed.

This time they didn't simply pierce them but the birds were completely frozen from head to toe at the touch of the spears.

Everyone gasped in astonishment. They could even feel that the temperature around them had dropped a few degrees, though it was clearly bright and sunny all around.

But after the single second of awe, the crowd once again turned chaotic and it was worse than before as they had just now seen how much one single mana core could affect a person and improve their strength.

They also wanted to cast these powerful magic spells and develop unique abilities!
