Reincarnated as the Son of Conglomerate
212 Jetlag (V)
Those two were like guardian angels.
The green-eyed man controlled those eight metal spheres, shooting them towards the approaching tree monsters with deadly precision. The metal spheres spun at an astonishing speed before striking their enemies with incredible force. Explosions of light and thunder accompanied each attack, obliterating the tree monsters.
Meanwhile, the white-haired woman engaged in close combat. Wearing a magical gauntlet emitting a radiant power, she demolished the tree monsters with deadly punches. Her iron-fisted moves were so swift and precise that her enemies had no time to evade.
The collaboration between those two was a perfect blend. They complemented each other, ensuring that no tree monster escaped their onslaught. Every attack and movement they executed was truly epic, producing explosions of light and thunder that filled the battlefield.
Captain Guzman and his troops were awestruck by the battle, their eyes wide open as they watched the two individuals annihilate the monsters that had nearly taken their lives. It was unbelievable.
As the battle raged on, a blonde-haired girl suddenly appeared out of the blue and approached Captain Guzman.
"Are any of your soldiers injured, Sir?" the blonde girl asked with concern in her voice.
"Y-yeah," Captain Guzman replied spontaneously. He was still stunned by the battle unfolding before him. "Many of us are injured."
After getting confirmation from the troop leader, the blonde girl immediately went to tend to the nearest wounded soldiers. Her touch emitted a bright green light that soothed their wounds, and in an instant, the injuries of the patients disappeared.
Captain Guzman was left speechless as he watched the girl heal his injured soldiers. Then, he drew close to her and asked, "Who are you, Miss? Are you friends with them?"
"Yup," the girl nodded enthusiastically. "I'm Joanna Lee. That woman is Sylvia, and the flying guy is my brother, Klaus Lee. We came from America to help you."
Captain Guzman breathed a sigh of relief. Finally, he and his soldiers weren't alone in facing the danger emerging from the dungeon. However, there was still a concern on his mind.
"Are just the three of you here?" he asked through gritted teeth. "Even though those two are amazing, I'm worried that one or two monsters might slip out and attack the village."
"Don't worry. The others are on their way," Joanna rolled her eyes at Klaus. "Besides, my brother is the most powerful one. No one could match him."
Captain Guzman raised an eyebrow. Then, he looked at Klaus. The man was entirely different from the awakeners he had ever met in his life. The way Klaus killed his enemies was god-like. Not a single part of his body moved except for his eyeballs.
For a moment, Captain Guzman felt truly fortunate.
As he was mesmerized by the epic battle, a cold breeze tickled his ears. Suddenly, in the midst of the chaotic battle, a hailstorm descended from the sky. His instincts kicked in, and Captain Guzman immediately shielded the girl with his body, protecting her from the falling ice. He thought it was a counterattack from the elf woman earlier, but he was wrong.
The ice fell from the sky, piercing the tree monsters with immense force. However, none of the ice hit the soldiers or himself. Joanna giggled at the captain's spontaneous action while he wore a bewildered expression. He still didn't understand what had just happened.
With a teasing smile, Joanna informed him, "Don't worry, Captain. This isn't an enemy attack. Our friends have come."
"What?"
As Captain Guzman was shocked by this news, a new presence appeared in the midst of the tumultuous battle. A handsome man with ice powers materialized out of nowhere, attacking the tree monsters with dazzling ice explosions. The ice formed from his hands bombarded his foes, freezing and shattering them simultaneously.
Then, a long-haired woman with exotic skin entered the fray. She dived into the midst of dozens of monsters without a hint of fear on her face. Moving gracefully, she cleaved through the tree monsters in one incredible stroke. Her katana moved at an unimaginable speed, turning the tree monsters into pieces of wood.
Not long after, an oriental-looking man with a double-edged sword leaped into the midst of the battle. He sliced through his enemies with finesse and precision. As dozens of tree monsters converged on him, a hulking man in armor descended from the sky, diverting the enemy's attention. He roared, his voice resounding, drawing the enemy towards him.
Captain Guzman could not help but stare in awe, witnessing the prowess of their battle.
"Who are you all, really?" he asked, gaping.
"He he he, we are the Rays of Hope, the strongest guild in America," Joanna boasted, puffing out her chest as she said it.
Suddenly, a huge bolt of lightning struck the earth. A dark-skinned man with long black hair knelt, one hand punching the ground. Monsters within a 10-meter radius turned into charcoal.
Captain Guzman was wide-eyed as he saw the figure of the man.
"Gavin! Gavin Schneider!" he exclaimed.
Following that, heroic shouts came from another direction. Ten armored individuals charged in from the west, armed with swords, spears, and shields, ruthlessly slaughtering the tree monsters.
In a matter of seconds, the tide of battle shifted.
While the reinforcements appeared in their grace and might, Klaus Lee continued to lead the battle, floating in the air. He shot the metal spheres towards the tree monsters attempting to flee. The metal spheres struck the escaping enemies.
Klaus put his eyes on his subordinates, eliminating the remaining tree monsters one by one and driving them back into the dungeon gate. At the same time, he carefully monitored the battle, his eyes scanning in all directions, ensuring no monsters sneaked out.
However, amidst this epic battle, Klaus's eyes suddenly locked onto an elf riding a giant bear. Their eyes met briefly, but he didn't take any action. The Elf then entered the dungeon gate with a few other tree monsters.
"Don't let them escape! They are valuable monster cores!" Justin yelled, instructing his men not to let any monsters get away. They were excited as they dispatched the remaining tree monsters. One monster equaled one monster core, after all.
Finally, the hail stopped falling. It signaled victory for the humans.
Klaus Lee landed gently on the ground. He then walked towards the leader of the military forces.
"Thank you. Without your help and your team, we might not have been able to handle this threat," Captain Guzman said, his eyes expressing deep gratitude.
Klaus Lee smiled and replied, "I should be the one thanking you. It should have been our duty, but you fought hard to hold back those monsters. If you weren't here, Oberstdorf might have been destroyed."
"Ha ha ha," Captain Guzman laughed, lightening the mood. "You are very skilled at giving compliments. We are the Bundeswehr. To die in defense of the motherland is our duty."
They chatted, introducing themselves to each other. Suddenly, Justin approached them.
"The boys seem exhausted. They haven't slept since they arrived from the airport," Justin said. "Some of them feel nauseous and dizzy."
Klaus narrowed his eyes. "They are awakeners. How could they be tired just from a seven-hour flight and not sleeping for five hours?"
Justin shrugged. "Who knows? Maybe they got jet lag."
Klaus sighed in response. He couldn't believe what he had just heard.
Hearing their conversation, Captain Guzman spoke. "Don't worry about them. I'll make sure they get the rest they need."
Klaus and Justin looked at Captain Guzman simultaneously.
The troop leader called a soldier and gave him orders to set up tents with some of the uninjured troops for the awakeners who had saved them. His voice raised, and his expression turned stern as he gave orders to his men.
"I've given them the orders. Please wait a moment," Captain Guzman said with a friendly smile.
Seeing Captain Guzman's drastic change in attitude, Klaus and Justin raised their eyebrows in surprise. Nevertheless, they appreciated the captain's goodwill.
"So, what about monster cores? Should I ask Olivia and a few others to collect them?" Justin inquired.
Monster cores were the reason they hadn't let any of the tree monsters escape. Each gram of these crystals was incredibly valuable.
As Klaus was considering whom to assign the task, Captain Guzman suddenly offered his assistance again.
"Don't worry about that. Let my men handle it. You awakeners just rest."
"And what about the distribution of the monster cores?" Klaus asked. "In my place, it's usually 50-50."
Captain Guzman waved his hand dismissively. "No need for that. It's all yours. We've already been paid by the country."
Klaus and Justin looked at each other, communicating through their gazes.
"Okay," Klaus said, his lips forming a pout as he nodded his head. "We'll take them all. Thank you, Captain Guzman."
After a brief conversation, Captain Guzman invited Klaus and Justin into the command tent. His face looked serious, and he said firmly, "There is something important we need to discuss."
