Reincarnated as the Son of Conglomerate
24 Recruitment (III)
Jonathan was taken aback. "Hey, chill bro. This isn't something that can be decided in a hurry."
"Yes, it is," Klaus simply replied.
"You made an employment contract with a fantastic salary on a napkin?"
Klaus sighed in exasperation. "As long as the agreement is in black and white, it has legal force. Now, the choice is yours. Take it or leave it."
Jonathan fell silent, pursing his lips. The man seemed to be carefully considering his decision. Some of his friends persuaded him to take it. However, he was in no hurry. "It's a big money. I want the contract renewed in more detail. I'm not dumb."
Klaus grinned, it turned out that the man before him was quite smarter than he thought. He deliberately did not write the contract in detail, so he could twist it at any time, unfortunately that did not happen.
"Alright," Klaus said.
Then, he added another clause to the contract, and Jonathan reviewed it for a moment before signing it. Afterward, the two shook hands.
The other students were stunned, they still couldn't believe what had just happened.
"Wow, Jonathan. You just hit the jackpot." A student chimed in.
"Hey, Klaus. Am I going to get a offer too, huh?" Another student tried to take a chance.
Klaus just smiled and told them to try applying at Mors Industries when it opened up. Their faces twisted in disappointment as they got the answer they didn't want.
"So, when do I start working? I need to submit my resignation," Jonathan said.
"Take it easy. You don't have to rush. I'll call you later. But, I need you to do something for me."
Jonathan raised an eyebrow.
Klaus asked Jonathan to gather people who had an interest in arcana. Of course, they had to have a certain intelligence or capability. They could be awakeners or not.
Broadly speaking, Klaus needed people who had passion and skills.
Jonathan stroked his chin. "Hm, I have many friends and some acquaintances who are obsessed with arcana. Some of them even took out bank loans to buy an arcana at auctions. I'll try to get them to join your company."
"That's not what I meant," Klaus snapped. "I don't want them to join my company. I want them to apply to my company. I need to see their qualities firsthand."
The dark-skinned man nodded, while his friends sighed in disappointment. They realized that they did not meet the qualities Klaus wanted. If they qualified, Klaus would definitely offer them a contract.
Klaus's aim in recruiting young people and students into the company was to broaden the scope of potential workers entering his company. He did not want to miss out on workers who had great potential.
In his eyes, young people had a higher passion for work, especially if they were working in the field that they wanted. Although they lacked experience, they were very productive. Of course, that didn't mean they were much better than professionals.
"Looks like someone has become a CTO," Justin said jokingly. He raised his glass. "We'll have to celebrate it."
They immediately raised their glasses and toasted. Klaus toasted too, but with a glass of water.
"cheers!"
After that, they just drank and joked around. Laughter and joy filled the air. One of them even got very drunk after downing two dozen glasses of beer.
As time passed, people gradually left the bar. The tables began to empty and the atmosphere inside became quiet. Some of Justin's friends left first, especially two female students, followed by two other male students.
That left Justin, Klaus, and Jonathan. Unfortunately, those two grown men at the table were drunk. Justin put his head on the table, while Jonathan kept talking about arcana though no one asked him.
Only Klaus was still sober.
"Should I just leave them?"
Klaus wasn't planning on going home tonight. His house was dozens of miles from the bar where he was drinking now. He might be able to fly fast like Superman, but he didn't want to argue with Anna at the crack of dawn.
In the end, he decided to stay at his guild building.
Klaus left the money under the glass before leaving the table. As he walked towards the exit, suddenly a female scream echoed inside the bar. A waitress was being attacked by a drunk customer. Several other waiter tried to stop him, but that customer was an awakener.
"You bitch! I said I still want a drink!"
The drunk customer shouted in anger, the surroundings crackled in lightning and the flashes struck everywhere. The waiters began to get scared, none of them were awakeners.
"Assholes! Die you mathafaka!"
That drunk man flashed lightning in various directions, several tables were scorched and drink bottles shattered. Some of the photos and posters on the walls caught fire and smoke filled the room, and customers ran out, and the waiters screamed in panic.
"Help! Someone, stop this man!"
Klaus sighed as he saw the situation unfold. He didn't want to get involved in this mess, but Justin and Jonathan were still at their table in an unconscious state. Klaus casually walked over to the drunk man despite the lightning striking in.
Pow.
Klaus smacked the drunk customer on the back of the neck, and that man collapsed instantly.
The waiters let out a sigh of relief. An old man with a graying beard, who appeared to be the owner, smiled as he drew close to Klaus.
"Thank you. My bar might have burned down if you weren't here," said the owner in sincerity.
"It's okay. Please wake up those two drunk guys when you're about to close," Klaus replied simply. He pointed at Justin and Jonathan, they were still asleep though the huge commotion that had just occurred.
"Okay."
Klaus saw the waitress who was the victim of the drunkard's rampage. Trying to get up, her long red hair fell as her coworkers helped her to stand. She painfully smiled, telling them that she was fine.
Thinking everything was okay, apart from the messy state of the bar, Klaus immediately went to leave the bar. As he was in the doorway, he suddenly felt a large flow of mana behind him.
He turned his head and found the red-head waitress raising her hands in the air, and blue auras enveloping her body.
The burnt photos and posters were slowly returning to normal. The shards of glass turned back into bottles and returned to the shelves, and even the liquid alcohol that had spilled on the floor went back into it, and the tables returned to their places.
Within seconds, the messy bar returned to its original state.
Klaus was taken aback at the sight.
"Thank you, Sylvia. If it wasn't for you, I might have lost a lot of money." The bar owner sighed. "Lately, the awakeners have been going nuts. I wish they were just like you."
The red-haired woman sincerely smiled. "Take it easy, boss. You've been doing me a favor all this time."
As the two of them spoke, the woman realized that she was being observed. She quickly looked away and headed to the back room.
Klaus stood in the doorway, he was still stunned at how she had turned back time.
...
In a dark narrow alley, Klaus leaned against the wall, his eyes glued on a door with a light bulb hanging over it.
He waited and waited, until a woman with red hair came out of the door. She was dressed in a brown leather jacket and jeans that were torn at the knees. Her blue eyes opened wide as she found Klaus waiting for her.
She twisted her face in confusion. "You need something from me?"
"Yes, Sylvia, right? I heard your name from the bar owner," Klaus replied. He smiled as he walked over to the red-head woman.
Sylvia raised both eyebrows, remembering something. "Ah, you're the one who knocked that drunk customer. If you're looking for your friends, they've already gone home."
"I know. I only came here to talk to you."
Sylvia squinted, and Klaus spontaneously kept his distance.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to scare you. I just wanted to give you this." Klaus handed her a small business card.
The woman took and read it. "Mors Industries? What's it?"
"It's the company I work for. In three weeks we'll have a job opening. Come, and bring your application. Tell them that I recommended you. I see you have great talent. It's a shame if you stay in this small bar, wasting your skills."
Sylvia just bobbed her head up and down. "Thank you for your offer. I will consider it." She then pocketed his business card and passed Klaus unceremoniously.
Klaus watched Sylvia's figure walk away, and it wasn't long before she was out of his sight. He squeezed his hand, in his head now there was no other thought but to get her.
