Chapter 91: Hunter vs. Lothar (2)

"Jack's Box!"

Summoning his skill, Lothar surrounded Hunter in boxes of various sizes, covering their significance and powers and threatening to hit him from many angles.

In response, Hunter quickly blossomed his Garden Of Liberation, shrouding himself in red roses.

Which stretched toward the demon's skill.

But while one rose had one spear and crown, those boxes were filled with much more demonic beams that Lothar had sent against his fore, drowning Hunter in purple light.

Rightfully fearing the unknown, Hunter decided to reveal his other card.

He took his head off his neck, and with a spin, he rotated his head like a globe while spitting Ice Breath, adding another veil to his bloody roses and helping them cope against Lothar's skill.

Alas, it wasn't enough to entirely defend against him.

His Jack's Box had somehow found a way to assault Hunter from a few unexpected angles, hitting Hunter's ankle, the back of his knee, and even his left hand.

Other than the damage of those beams — which cracked more of Hunter's royal armor —- each carried a different concept to create more advantages for its master.

'My ankle is… inept. I feel much less strength in my left hand… and the knee is frozen…' Hunter inferred as quickly as possible while blocking Lothar's punches and kicks.

Which were becoming more fiery now that Hunter was hindered.

Still, there was always a great price for great powers. Those obstacles lasted a few seconds to only a minute, allowing Hunter to stand his guard.

Knowing how Lothar fought now, Hunter formed defenses on the vital points and his hands and legs, for he needed those to keep up with his pace.

A pace which was gradually growing to levels Hunter had never ever licked.

Which was why Hunter pushed himself more, scratching some of his defenses in favor of more opportunities to smash Lothar's face.

Amidst their still matched battle dance, Hunter forcefully tore through Lothar's guard, striking him with a heavy force supported by the coldness of his armor and blood.

Now disarmed, Lothar could only experience Hunter's strength and emotions with his body.

He punched his face with everything he got.

Which was a punch for making Seraphina cry.

To further vent out his feelings, Hunter grasped Lothar's face with his gauntlet, squeezing it before throwing him onto the ground, drawing a trail with the demon's face.

And then, he paid back on behalf of Aimee, drawing his leg high to slam his strength and weight onto Lothar's spine.

BANG!

The ground rippled and burst open, with the groan of a demon being a highlight of this attack.

Alas, that was all Hunter could do before Lothar showcased more of his innate skill's versatility.

As a box huge enough to swallow him whole coalesced beneath him, Lothar got gobbled by it, only to reappear above the battlefield with his wings keeping him afloat.

Blood trickled down his chin, and some of the dirt peeled off his face.

He looked far from his carefree and confident self.

"You made me quite angry, Hunter," Lothar's voice befell Hunter, who had been looking up at him with narrowed eyes. "I felt your feelings through your punches and the kick… why would you pay so much importance to these women? You have what it takes to pick up any woman you want, discard when useless, and get a new one to replace a loss!"

Hunter sneered, "I don't see many opportunities in that."

"Opportunities? Must be still blinded by youthfulness," Lothar chuckled, "Too late for you to get fixed, though. Playtime is over."

Spreading his wings wide, Lothar coated himself in the purple glow, increasing his strength, which caused the entire cave to once again tremble in his presence. While his demonic blood heated, Lothar took in the vista of the battlefield on which strengthened ghouls continued their massacre.

And when one of them fell, he noticed something crucial.

Something that made him inwardly smile.

His wings flapped again, beginning the demon's fall.

Plunging straight at Hunter, Lothar broke all previous speed records, getting himself close to him in a mere split second.

He then faked his entire route by forming a box before himself and sliding into it.

The same box appeared on Hunter's side, spitting out the demon with his speed intact.

All of Lothar's forces slammed into Hunter like a cannon, shattering the armor protecting his side and exposing another battered armor of much weaker quality within it. Worse, the force of inertia continued the damage, drilling into Hunter's side and ripping his flesh from the inside.

At last, he was yanked off the ground and sent flying worse than a rag-doll.

As Hunter bounced on the ground while unable to seize control of his body, Lothar once again appeared above him through his box skill, plummeting into him with the same strength and blasting open another hole in the dullahan's armor…

…only to disappear again.

Taking the ceiling for himself again, Lothar ordered his forces to push forward against the ghouls with their lives on the line, confirming something.

As he had done that, he descended on Hunter again, only to face some obstacles this time.

Which were red roses blossoming from the blood mantle to give Hunter room to breathe.

Unfortunately, Lothar swept them into nothingness with a kick, then switched to an elbow attack, hitting Hunter's guard as the young man managed to seize back control over himself.

They ended up in a stalemate, their muscles straining and trembling as they pushed their entire forces against themselves.

Lothar's red eyes widened, and a cruel light flashed within them, "I know your weak point, Hunter."

In contrast, Hunter's blue eyes seemed like a cool lake full of calmness.

Which, for Lothar, was nothing but a mere show of courage to stay sane.

The demon's lips curved into a wide smile, "Your strength correlates to the number of the ghouls under you, doesn't it? The more ghouls, the stronger you are."

Hunter's eyes widened in shock.
