Rules-based ghost talk game
Volumes 1 and 2 What I want to say and summary (please skip directly if it affects viewing)
First of all, I would like to express my gratitude to the supporters of Guixi and the endless book lovers who gradually appeared along the way from the 100,000-word stand-alone status to the current 230,000 words. I would not have your support. , discussions in group chats, and evaluations of book reviews, will never reach today, nor can I write about it now.
To be honest, I have been wanting to write a summary since I finished the first volume, but at that time my mind was very messy, really messy. First, there were very few people reading it at the time, and I felt it was unnecessary. I was also a little confused at the time. No direction or ideas.
Now that the second volume is over, Xiao Chen An is about to return to Soft City, and it’s time to officially step into this world. Many things about the world view, setting, etc. will be revealed in the next volume.
Let’s talk about the journey of this book in general from the beginning to the end of the second copy!
How should I put it, the appearance of this book was purely an accident.
Me, I am a weird and stubborn person. I don’t like to write mindless and cool articles, and I don’t like to cater to vulgarity. I remember in 2014, I was making MC Minecraft videos. At that time, I He was considered a new star with three to four thousand fans. At that time, he was able to climb up and basically take off, and he was showing signs of success. However, the video culture at that time was very biased towards vulgar entertainment, blowing your nose, doing weird things, etc. It can make a lot of people burst into laughter.
I didn't like it, so I quit.
I have been trying to write novels since I was a child. When I first came into contact with Qidian, I was still logged in with a Shanda account. In 2015, my first contract - "Tianyan Dispute" in the game area was officially signed with Chuangshi Chinese Network .
There were 240,000 words written in that book, and as expected, only subscriptions were available after it was put on the shelves. Both subscriptions were 2. I didn’t understand, but that was also the first time I joined the contracted author group, which opened the door to a new world.
Since then, I have continued to write and read books on and off. I have tried various themes and written in various styles, from fantasy, to fairy tales, to urban, to systematic literature, and cool literature. Try something.
Then, about four years ago? At that time, I was watching Dragon’s Bookstore, and a friend recommended that I watch Dragon’s Horror Broadcast.
So, I truly found the art I like and the feeling I like.
That is the "art" of the dragon, the "flavor" in the dragon book, what I like, and the feeling of the "flavor" I want to have. Including the subsequent demonic coming, the dragon in my heart It has pushed his talents to a new level. (ps: I haven’t read Long’s new book yet)
Three or four years later, I began to write about weird themes. At that time, my first suspenseful and supernatural novel was honored to be edited by Qidian editor "Cinnabar". However, the moment I just decided to sign the contract, I caught up with him. A major rectification of web articles.
Later, after a period of silence, I started my "self-pleasure" journey again.
Why do you say "self-pleasure"? In fact, some readers in the group have also heard me say that I have written many online articles in the past seven years. Some readers said that my writing style is good and sophisticated when reading this book. In fact, I was quite surprised. I didn’t think I had any writing skills. In the past seven years, I have published about forty or fifty books, and the only thing in common is that none of them has exceeded three digits.
Some have signed contracts with tens of thousands of words, and some have written hundreds of thousands of words by practicing writing on a single computer.
As for the dream of writing online, I have always had it in my heart, but it has been wiped out over the years. I have been writing just because I like it. I just want to create the world I imagined and the world I want to express.
Show it.
About a year ago? I finished reading Lord of Mysteries. I was greatly shocked. I found that online novels and traditional novels can be intertwined with literature. I can actually find a balanced "degree". The world view of the novel can be written like this.
, it is possible to describe such a world in vain.
It was also from that day that I, a half-literary young man, once again walked the path of being "not recognized by the public", "not being able to grasp my writing skills" and "no one cared about me".
"I don't want to write cool business articles for novices (that's how I feel), and I don't have the ability to write them. Because I don't like it, and because I don't have enough ability, I can't write it, so I won't write it."
I just want to write what I want to write, what I like, and the stories that make me feel "excited".
Horror and suspense is the style and feeling I have been looking for.
...
Okay, here’s the text of the summary:
In mid-December 2021, I was so inspired that I wrote the beginning of a book called "The Soul of Gui Hua" and sent it to my dear Sister Tian Qi.
The result I got was "No, how long has it been since you read online articles?".
I generally understand. I read a lot of traditional literature at that time.
The next day, I touched up the new beginning of "Thriller Reality Game" and sent it to the editor with confidence.
The result I got was "No, why don't you try doujin?"
I don't want to write fan fiction, I want to write my own original work, but for so many years, I'm just a street kid that no one cares about, and I really have no living readers except my friends.
Can I? I don't know.
At that time, I happened to see Strange Stories about Zoo Rules, and with the attitude of giving it a try, I picked out the first chapter, and then got a "curious" question from the editor, and then I sent the current three chapters to the editor.
The manuscript has been approved, reviewed and signed.
At that time, I was quite confused.
To be honest, I have never written suspense stories. All I wrote before were supernatural and self-exciting "feeling" stories.
The longest book I have ever written is about online games with 240,000 words, the one with 160,000 words is about martial arts fantasy, and the other one with about 200,000 words is about modern cultivation (similar to Under One Person).
Moreover, I haven’t read many suspense books with infinite flow copies. I haven’t read Black Fire, I haven’t read Samsara Paradise, and I haven’t even read Infinite Horror.
But I thought about it, "Well... I'm not good at writing other things. I'm not good at it, so I'll give it a try."
Therefore, I don’t even know how to lay out the structure of this kind of copy and how to maintain suspense. I even thought about many of the follow-up chapters while writing.
This led to some book friends saying it was "wonderful" and some book friends saying it was "chaotic". Well... I didn't even know it was a reincarnation fantasy when I wrote the previous chapter. It would be strange if readers knew it.
But in short, although it seems a bit messy, the feeling of reversal is still achieved. The cut shots of several transitions seem to have good effects, including the first copy, which also leaves a lot of pitfalls later.
ps: Someone complained that forty chapters were too long for a copy. Twenty chapters would be fine. Can I say that I didn’t know how many chapters there were in other copies at the time? After flipping through it, it felt like it wasn’t a good reference...
Then there is the problem of the first dungeon. Someone in the comment area mentioned "complexity for the sake of complexity". I admit this. I was thinking about how to write suspense and how to reverse it, and I was also influenced by the idea of "complex plot is suspense". Think about the impact.
All in all, the first one ended in such a blur. At the end, it was also recommended. It was an unprecedented recommendation from me. The book club group actually also came. I was extremely excited and incomparable. Uneasy.
I don’t know how to write this type of book, and I don’t know how to write it later so that my book friends will be satisfied.
The first copy of this book, including the worldview, was actually just a prototype at the beginning. I filled it in as I wrote it, and now I have a nearly complete framework.
What I was thinking at the time was that some readers of this book rely on "rule-based weird stories", right? Then if I write about soft things, will book friends not like to read it? Do I have to jump to the next copy quickly? Therefore, it was natural and in line with the plot that Xiao Chen An could directly book the book in advance.
I was so panicked at that time, I was afraid that if I wrote a soft copy, no one would be able to write a copy.
The second copy was just opened.
I started writing the second copy, and I also started thinking about some bigger and more profound issues. The original intention of my book was: "People should still maintain hope in despair, even if they are facing greater despair. , But we should keep hope." Chen An's journey is like my vest. It is a "journey with no end in sight", filled with hope and despair.
This is also the reason why these two books are very difficult and there is no so-called "beginner transition period". I don't want to write according to routines and rules and regulations. I fight monsters in the novice village at the beginning and then upgrade all the way. This is a clever trick. In line with the intention.
In fact, through the complete attempt of the first story, I completed writing a complete story for the first time in my life.
I also gained a lot of experience and thinking. From the first copy, I had to be careful about every chapter, think for a long time, and have a big idea. By the second story, I have understood and mastered some writing methods, which also allowed me to An idea began to come to me - "challenge something new, an attempt".
I took out the "47x10 path table" that I made in three months before, with 47 paths and 470 professions with meaning and intention. It was also the design I made for the new book when I was very excited after reading Mystery. Certainly."
Among them, I learned the lesson from the collapse of the book, took part of it, modified part of it, and turned it into the current essence of the "22x6" path table.
That is, the path of original sin and the path of mutation.
At the same time, I think the reason why "rule-based weird stories" are attractive is that there is a hidden weirdness in the ordinary rules, which makes people involuntarily think about why, thus achieving the charming effect.
But to put it bluntly, it is just a way to heighten terror, but in a different way, which makes it interesting.
Where do the "rules" come from, and where does the dungeon world come from? In my mind, which is deeply influenced by the dragon's style and the lord of mystery, it cannot be without reason, and the worldview cannot be limited to one dungeon after another. Break through.
So, I was looking for a way to combine the "Original Sin Path" with the "Rule Ghost Story Copy".
The second copy was born, and the Hanged Man, the Idiot, the Wallfacer, and the Jester appeared.
"Reasonability, well, I need rationality. Everything should be reasonable, have a reason, be logical, and be self-consistent. This kind of world is real."
Watching the ups and downs of book collection, and the ups and downs of recommendation pk, I am honored that after seven years of self-reliance, the book I wrote this time has been loved and loved by so many book friends.
Recognition.
Even though, at the beginning, I was just a throwaway, now I have 230,000 words and a collection of more than 5,000, which is only in the middle and lower reaches of the same number of words.
But at least, we've... um... found a way, haven't we?
It has been seven years since I wrote the book, and my collection has exceeded 100!
Not to mention, there are more than 90 people in the book club. Wow, I never dared to think about this before. If I put it in the past, I know I can do this... Wow, I have to fight even when I sleep and dream.
I woke up with a snot bubble in my nose and a smile.
It’s just that many of my feelings have been shocked and numb, and I have to always remind myself of my insignificance. In the vast sea of authors, I am really just a throwaway. I have only collected 5,000 books and have read more than 100.
Hit the streets.
This is also true, isn't it?
...
For the first story, what I tried was a wave-like ups and downs, with small high points and small flat points forming waves.
For the second story, I tried a whirlpool style. Although it was not well expressed, it probably achieved a small part of the effect. At the end of Miao Luoying’s precognitive dream, it was as if everyone was involved in it.
At the center of the vortex, relief and danger follow.
The end point is that I have to find a reasonable way to incorporate the mutation path.
After the precognitive dream, the pace of writing is actually a bit too fast, which is also a problem with the overall length. A copy of more than 100,000 words is already very long, and my writing power is also somewhat insufficient. Regarding the aspect of "exploration", and other things I want to express
In terms of feeling, it is not very compatible.
For example, after Chen An first arrived, he was eroded by the hospital after talking to the Smiling Rabbit. It was "very strange" and I spent three chapters to exaggerate it.
The writing power needs to be improved and the structure needs to be improved.
However, from the first copy to the end of the second copy, I feel that I have improved a lot.
...
In recent days, the collection has actually increased very little. The peak last week was more than 600 a day, and in the past two days, it has been more than 100 a day.
Seeing that the collection cannot grow, I feel very sad.
They say that at least 10,000 words will be put on the shelves. Basically, the number of words on the shelf is between 250,000 and 300,000 words. I looked at my signs and couldn’t reach it...
I did the math. Even if all the current follow-up books are put on the shelves and then subscribed, if I calculate a little more, if I have 150 follow-up books, I will be stuck with perfect attendance.
Thinking of this, I feel relieved, Ya'er, it's all about rushing to the street anyway...
Instead of being a sad and angry person, why not be a free and happy person?
There is something a great writer said that I always keep in mind.
"Just write your novel well. When your level reaches a certain level, your story will be recognized by the market."
I was nervous about writing almost every chapter of this book because I was always trying new things.
New things mean that the effects and results may not be as good as the old ones, but I don’t want to keep standing still, holding the half bowl of Lao Gan Ma and chewing on it.
I need to try, I also need to break through myself, just like the structure of the first story and the second story are completely different.
So, I was relieved.
You think so much and don’t have anything?
First of all, I would like to thank all the book friends who have supported me all the way. It is quite, extremely, and difficult to describe in words. Thank you for your support!
The third volume will be different from the previous volume named "Copy Name" because after the first and second attempts, I want to try something bigger.
Walk step by step to avoid moving too fast.
The title of the third volume is [Joker], yes, it is the same as the first volume of Lord of Mysteries.
This is the title of the volume, the story, and the name of Chen An’s path of mutation at the weird level.
I hope that I can tell the story of another "Joker" that is different from Klein's in a different way from Squid and in my own way.
At the same time, I will no longer be obsessed with the connection between copies. First of all, "reasonableness" is needed, and secondly, "what is available and what is not available".
Therefore, at the beginning of the third volume, there will probably be at least 15 chapters, all of which are the story of Ruandu. The third dungeon will be more difficult than Chen An's first and second dungeons due to the return to normal difficulty. It is simple and the length will be shorter, about 20 chapters.
Well...it's a new attempt again, and we have to take a new road. The road ahead is still confusing.
At the end of the first volume, Chen An wrote "Ghost Story Game with Rules" and posted it on the Internet "laughing".
In fact, the story in the book is Chen An's journey, so why is it not my journey?
Just like the words "hope in despair, and then despair but still keep hope" throughout my book, it's like my pen name "Endless Traveler".
This is also my journey with no end, no future in sight, confusion, despair, but also full of hope.
Well...fortunately, you are with me, um, once again, bow deeply at 180 degrees!
