I've been coding from 0:00 to 4:00 AM, deleting it three times, and finally managed to finish the first VIP chapter with great difficulty. Now I'm here to write the pre-launch thoughts.

First, let's talk about this book. It's a niche category of cool-themed suspense... rule-based horror. Emmm... how should I put it? It's like maxing out the debuffs right from the start, but I had already thought about this when I was conceiving the book.

Although I've written millions of words of Xuanhuan Xianxia novels, they've always been lukewarm. Every time I design exciting moments, I feel like I'm being pushed by the plot, rather than me pushing the plot. I've been confused about this for a long time.

I've thought about the reasons, and basically, it's because I can't help but think about some "logical things" that people would laugh at if I said them. Of course, it can't be ruled out that I'm just too bad at writing Xuanhuan Xianxia.

By chance, I learned about 怪谈 (Guaitan - strange tales), and then I learned a little about the "Cthulhu" style during Fox Tail's live course. So I went to specifically read Lovecraft's "The Call of Cthulhu" (I don't know if I can type this book title, so I omitted a character).

To be honest, only after reading the original book can you vaguely experience what "Cthulhu" horror is like. Then, I looked for some Guaitan novels online, and the result was... ahem, insert Wang Sicong's mysterious smile evaluating a certain celebrity's acting skills .jpg here.

My first reaction was: What the hell are you writing? Putting on a Guaitan skin and then going invincible, ignoring the rules, and writing a爽文 (Shuangwen - feel-good novel)?

Suspense! Rule-based Guaitan! Can't you put some effort into writing something interesting?

It's because there were no books to read that I started writing myself.

Before I started, Mo Fangju was on a trip and came to Suzhou to play with me. I told him about this idea. In the early stages of drafting the student rules, Mo Fangju gave me a lot of advice, so I thank Mo Fangju first. I said I'd write a bit to test the waters, and if it's not bad, I'll trick (scratch that, invite) him to join the rule-based Guaitan pit.

My initial idea was very pure. Regardless of the market, I wanted to write a rule-based Guaitan with some Cthulhu horror elements that I personally imagined, purely out of love.

After I drafted the initial rules, I wrote an opening for my editor, Ye Xiao Da. After reading it, Ye Xiao Da said: "You can write it, but the popularity has passed."

I only saw "You can", and automatically ignored "the popularity has passed", because I only needed to know "You can write it".

I told Ye Xiao Da that I would only write one complete Guaitan in this book. If the response is not good after it's finished, I'll end it, and it won't be a loss as it would be a complete story.

If it's written well, there will naturally be subsequent parts.

Regarding the subsequent parts, in addition to S City University, I actually conceived a few other locations, but because I wasn't sure if everyone would like it, I didn't do the detailed planning for those later Guaitan, but only pushed the logical chain of "S City University" to a closed loop.

Then I started writing the book. Oh, here's a side note. Because the entire logic of the rules was conceived by me from scratch, the whole process was really difficult. There was no one I could refer to (at least I don't know of any, I've read the Animal Zoo Guaitan, but to be honest, it helped my logical chain very, very little), so in the end, it took me almost a month to come up with the initial logical chain, and then constantly discuss it with Mo Fangju, and finally it took more than two months to complete logical chain 1.0.

I remember it was August at that time, and then I gradually completed all the logical chains. I probably started writing the main text in September, and then revised it again and again, and finally released the book in October.

Actually, I was very busy in October, very busy with everything, but I started telling Ye Xiao Da that I would release the book on September 1st, hahahahaha... It was delayed until October. Seeing that the October holiday was over, I hardened my heart and decided to give myself some pressure.

People, if you don't push yourself, you really won't climb forward.

After the book was released, I was actually very uneasy, thinking, wouldn't it turn from "writing for love" to "really writing for love"?

Hahahahaha... I dismissed this thought as soon as it flashed through my mind, because I was confident that a closed-loop logic, just throwing all the rules on the internet could create a bunch of analysis posts, let alone how fun (thrilling) it would be if I wrote it into a story. If all else fails, if no one reads it after I finish writing it, I can see if I can make it into a short video or something...

Then the book was released!

After the book was released, I didn't expect that there would be quite a few people who liked it. Everyone's comments were often one or two hundred words long, which made me smile like an auntie all the time. The motivation to code every day was also slow and steady.

In this process, I created a group. Seeing the group members grow from 1 to the current 60+, although there are very few people, everyone's purity is very high. They discuss the plot and rules every day, which makes me feel very accomplished.

Thank you all for your support, 哐哐哐 (sound of kowtowing) to you all Orz!!!!

Finally, about the results.

Currently, there are 5000 favorites and 300+ follows. I don't know how the launch data will be. Although it's very little compared to other categories, I don't know why I feel that if I don't screw it up, I should be able to get some results... So, I will work hard.

(Whispering: Although there are only 300+ follows at launch, I'm so greedy, I still want to aim for a 精品 (Jingpin - high quality) badge T-T, which is 3000 average subscriptions, hahahaha it seems a bit unrealistic, because 300 follows is almost 300 average subscriptions...)

Never mind, I'll just code and code and code... I'll finish the story well, and the rest is up to you readers.

Oh crap, I almost forgot...

Thanks to the two大佬 (dalao - big shots) who gave me chapter recommendations - Bai Ya, the whitest crow, Crow's position is too high, I don't even have the face to recommend his book... I can only say that a drop of kindness will be repaid with a spring, thank you Crow.

There is also a Rabbit大佬 (dalao - big shots), Medieval Rabbit, whose position is also much higher than mine... Here I can only kowtow +2...

The newest novels are first released at 69书吧!!

And Vera the Empress, who helped me, kowtow +3...

Finally, let's talk about the updates.

The starting point guarantees 4000 words per day, but I want to make high-quality work, so I'm definitely not willing to just lie flat like this. So I will try to update more words every day. Although I want to update 10,000 words a day, I haven't tried it yet, so I can't guarantee how much improvement there will be here. I can only say that I will gradually increase the amount of updates, so please wait and see.

Also, if there is a leader, I will not do those superficial things like saying how many updates will be added. I will directly add words, okay? One leader will add 10,000 words, and I will try to add them within a week (wuwuwu I'm talking about you "Meow", a sudden leader surprised and delighted me)!

Okay... Charge!!!

I hope you all like this story, we'll... see you in the ending thoughts!
