Chapter 1110: Kind Father and Filial Son

"On the surface, the reason why Lucas and his son had a dispute was that they had a disagreement on the company's business policy. In fact, the father was not satisfied with his son's close relationship with the police and was afraid of offending the pirates."

Louise continued to reveal the conflict between Lucas and his son to Roger and Martin.

"The father and son quarreled more and more fiercely. Later, the old Lucas was furious and declared that he would take back his son's management rights of the company. As a result, he was coldly told by the young Lucas that the old guys on the company's board of directors had been kicked out and replaced by his confidants. The father's words had no say."

"When the old Lucas learned that he was sidelined by his son, he was so angry that he had a heart attack and almost died."

At the end, Louise sighed and showed some sympathy for the old Lucas's situation.

"This old man doesn't seem to know that his son's support for the police is just a pretense. He is actually a gang leader and an ally of pirates. He is deceived by his own son. This old man is really pitiful."

"Why did the father run to the police station so early in the morning when his son became a fugitive?" Martin muttered in confusion, "Old Lucas came to see Chief Gordon. Could it be that he wanted to spend money to smooth the relationship and plead for his son who cheated his father?"

"I dare not say that." Louise shrugged, "Judging from Chief Gordon's character, he should not accept bribes from Old Lucas in private and commit corruption and abuse of power."

Rogge frowned and suddenly thought of another thing.

"The Blood Anchor Gang has a history of at least 20 years since its establishment. How old was Lucas Jr. 20 years ago? How could a 14-15-year-old boy who had not yet taken charge of the family business become the boss behind the gang?"

"This is indeed a question worth exploring." Louise pondered, "Maybe the Blood Anchor Gang has more than one 'boss'. After the early founder retired, he handed over the title of 'boss' and the entire gang to Lucas Jr. to inherit?"

Rogge and Martin did not say anything, and the same suspicion arose in their hearts...

At this time, Robin walked out of the director's office and saw Rogge and others standing at the door, so he asked them if they had anything else to do.

"Mr. Robin, we have something to ask you, I wonder if it is convenient to disclose it." Louise hesitated.

"Miss Quinn, if you have anything to say, please feel free to ask. I will tell you everything I know."

"What is the purpose of Old Lucas coming to see Director Gordon so early in the morning?"

"Well..." Robin quickly looked around and confirmed that no one was paying attention. He lowered his voice and said, "It's not convenient to talk in detail here. The three of you come with me and find a quiet place to talk."

Rogge, Martin and Louise followed Robin into his office.

Robin closed the door, turned around and said to Roger and others: "You all know what Lucas Jr. did. As for Lucas Sr., he actually came to report a crime."

"What case?" Martin widened his eyes, his face full of tension. "The old guy wants to investigate Roger and his friends for breaking into a private house and stealing property last night? He'd better not make trouble for himself! Roger and his friends broke into his house to rescue me, and as a direct victim of his son's kidnapping, it's not too much for me to take some money from his family as compensation?"

"Brother... I beg you, shut up!" Roger was so angry that his teeth itched, and he wanted to sew the fat man's mouth shut!

Deputy Director Robin was very tactful. He pretended not to hear Martin's self-exposed illegal behavior, and smiled and shook his head: "You misunderstood. In fact, Lucas Sr. came to report his son."

"Report his own son?" Louise couldn't believe it.

"Yes, Old Lucas collected a batch of evidence and personally sent it to the police station, reporting that his son, Lucas Jr., secretly bribed gangsters, suppressed competitors, colluded with pirates, and participated in smuggling and selling stolen goods and other black industries. Once these crimes are confirmed, Lucas Jr. will never get out of prison for the rest of his life!"

Rogge, Martin and Louise looked at each other in silence for a long time.

"Old Lucas reported his son's crime to the police. It can be said that he is sacrificing his own son for the greater good, but it is too cruel. After all, he is his own son!" Louise couldn't accept it a little.

"Humph! I don't think that old guy is so noble!" Martin sneered, "Since he already has evidence of his son's crime, why didn't he report it earlier or later, but had to wait until last night when we made a big fuss at his house and Lucas Jr. fled for his crime before reporting it? What is sacrificing one's own son for the greater good? Bullshit! I think this old man clearly wants to sacrifice his pawns to save the chariot!"

Rogge nodded lightly, agreeing with Martin's opinion.

"Old Lucas and his son had a sharp conflict over the company's management policy. He was unwilling to let his power be taken away by his son. Perhaps he learned that his son's crime had been exposed, so he made up his mind, took the initiative to report the case, and made a gesture to distance himself from the criminal activities in which his son participated. On the one hand, he could preserve his own industry, and on the other hand, he could regain control of the company."

Louise had to admit that Roger and Martin had a deeper understanding of this issue than she did.

From a rational perspective of profit first, she could understand Old Lucas's approach, but she felt a chill in her heart.

"Old Lucas is so cruel to his own son. Once he loses his usefulness, he immediately turns his face and draws a clear line, completely disregarding the father-son relationship. He is really a cold-blooded animal!"

Martin sneered and asked Louise: "If that's the case, isn't Little Lucas also equally selfish and cold-blooded to his father? Both father and son value power and money more than family affection. They are indeed a family of loving father and filial son..."

Before he finished speaking, there was a sudden roar outside the window!

Bang!

The glass windows of the office were hit by the explosion and shattered all over the floor!

The explosion came too suddenly, and Rogge and others were stunned, hiding their heads from the flying glass fragments.

Until the explosion subsided, the four people were still terrified and at a loss.

Rogge barely calmed down and asked the deputy director beside him: "Mr. Robin, what's going on?"

Robin ran to the window and looked through the hole in the direction of the explosion.

"The explosion occurred in the detention center next door... I'm afraid someone tried to blow up the outer wall of the detention center and hijack the prisoners!"

"Are there any serious criminals in the detention center?" Rogge asked.

"Really!" Robin nodded with a heavy face: "The second leader of the Raging Pirates, 'Thunder' Seleus, is now detained in the detention center."

There was a dense sound of gunfire outside the window.

The pirates came prepared, sneaked into the city in disguise, blew up the outer wall of the detention center, rushed in to break the prison, and were now engaged in a fierce exchange of fire with the prison guards.

Robin glanced out the window again and said anxiously to Rogge and others: "The situation at the detention center is very urgent. I have to quickly gather the police and lead the team to support. I'll leave you first!"
