Chapter 245: Imitation Master (Subscription Request)

Gao Fei first noticed that the character he was controlling was extremely poor and didn't even have a decent weapon.

He suddenly had an idea: could he transfer the weapons that were not used in "Prince's Revenge" to the new module for the protagonist to use?

He tried it, but it didn't work.

The equipment produced in a certain module cannot be directly used by characters in other modules.

The system prompts "data incompatibility". Gao Fei suspects that this is just an excuse. In the final analysis, it doesn't want players to get advanced equipment in advance, which reduces the difficulty of the game.

Discarding this opportunistic idea, he continued to check the status panel.

The so-called "mimic" is the nesting doll profession that Gao Fei imitated from "Tiangong Special Police". The core mechanism is very similar. Of course, Gao Fei didn't copy it. There are also significant differences between the two.

The life dice of the "mimic" profession is D6, similar to the mage and warlock, and belongs to the category with the thinnest blood.

In the first version of the setting submitted by Gao Fei, the life dice of the mimic was D8, which seems to have been cut by the design department.

But this is understandable.

Gao Fei knew that he had put a lot of private goods in when designing this special profession, and the strength was even stronger than the "Dragon Warrior". The design department could not accept all of them. In order to balance the professional system, the imitator must be changed.

The imitator does not have any built-in proficiency items, including armor, weapons, immunity, tools and skills, all of which depend on the corresponding "magic mask".

In short, when the imitator wears a mask of a certain profession, he will gain the proficiency corresponding to that profession.

Obviously, this setting is copied from the Tiangong Special Police.

The Tiangong Special Police needs to spend "astronomical energy" to switch to a secondary profession. Of course, the imitator designed by Gao Fei cannot have any "astronomical energy", otherwise it would be equivalent to breaking the "fourth wall" and seriously over-game.

Instead, the imitator can switch the "magic mask" once more for each professional level upgrade, and restore it once every short rest, and the long rest can make up the number of switches.

The imitator comes with 12 magic masks, each mask corresponding to a basic profession.

In fact, there are only 11 masks in Gao Fei's original manuscript, corresponding to the professions of warrior, berserker, thief, poet, priest, paladin, monk, ranger, druid, warlock and wizard - all these professions are limited to classic types.

The trial version provided by Inanna added a mask, corresponding to the profession of "warlock".

Gao Fei didn't quite understand the design department's idea, but in any case, one more mask is always good, which is equivalent to strengthening the performance of the mimic.

Similar to Tiangong Special Police, the mimic can also match the various professions corresponding to the 12 masks by adjusting its own attributes.

However, the way of adjusting attributes of the two is not the same.

The mimic does not have a "free attribute pool". Once the attribute points are added, they cannot be removed. The advantage is that the arrangement position of various attributes can be adjusted.

For example, the six attributes of Musk Justice are currently arranged as follows:

Strength 10, Agility 18, Constitution 12, Intelligence 13, Perception 16, Charisma 18

Musk's Agility and Charisma attributes are particularly high, which is very suitable for a warlock, poet or warlock - Warlock is also a charm caster, and like a poet, can wear light armor and use simple weapons.

If Gao Fei wants to imitate the warrior profession, he can spend a long rest and adjust the position of each attribute as follows:

Strength 18, Agility 16, Constitution 18, Intelligence 10, Perception 12, Charisma 13

Comparing the two sets of data above and below, it is not difficult to find that the six numbers themselves have not changed, but the order of arrangement has changed. The two with the highest values of 18 points have changed from Agility and Charisma to Strength and Constitution, becoming more suitable for the warrior profession. This is one of the core abilities of the imitator - "attribute replacement"!

Now Gao Fei can only perform "attribute replacement" through long rest. In the future, as the level increases, the efficiency of attribute replacement will also increase.

The next data is "magic pool".

That's right, the mimic has its own spellcasting ability, which is the so-called "imitation".

However, the "imitation" alone is useless. It must be paired with the "Warlock Mask" or "Mage Mask" to learn magic.

When Gao Fei wears the "Warlock Mask", the capacity of the magic pool is equal to "casting level × charm". When it is changed to the "Mage Mask", the magic pool capacity is "casting level × intelligence".

If the switch mask causes the magic pool to overflow, the overflow will be automatically deducted; conversely, if the switch mask causes the magic pool to be insufficient, the missing magic will not be replenished for you.

In short, no matter which mask is worn, only the capacity of the magic pool is changed, not the existing magic value. The used magic will definitely be deducted, don't expect to get it for free.

So, how should the "imitation" be applied specifically?

This should be discussed in two situations.

If Gao Fei is currently wearing the "Warlock Mask", as long as he watches others cast spells, and the spells cast by the other party do not exceed the maximum imitation level, he can directly learn this spell by focusing on imitating for 1 round!

A Level 1 Mimic wearing a "Warlock Mask" can only imitate 1 0-level trick.

If Gao Fei switches to a "Mage Mask", all the warlock spells he imitated before will be unusable, and he must learn magic in the way of a mage.

In simple terms, it is to learn magic that does not exceed the scope of one's ability by copying spell scrolls or magic books.

A Level 1 Mimic wearing a "Mage Mask" can copy and learn 0-level tricks, with no limit on the number, but can only memorize 1 trick per day. After waking up from a long rest, the spell list memorized on the day can be modified.

It is particularly important to note that the Mimic's "Warlock Mask" and "Mage Mask" each have a spell list, which are independent of each other and cannot be superimposed or conflicted.

If Gao Fei initially wears a "Warlock Mask" and can only release "Flame Arrows", and finds that the enemy has fire resistance and the "Flame Arrows" cannot hit him, he can switch to the "Mage Mask" and use the "Freeze Ray" memorized in advance to deal with him.

After closing the status bar, Gao Fei then checked the 12 "Magic Masks", which are magic devices dedicated to Mimics and can be used to imitate the abilities of other professions.

The first one is the "Warrior Mask". After wearing it, you will gain related proficiency. In addition, you can choose a "Battle Style" at level 1, comprehend "Cut with the Trend" at level 3, learn "Offensive Tide" at level 5, learn "First Aid" at level 7, learn "Whirlwind" at level 9, and learn "Lion Charge" at level 13.

As for the abilities of the Warrior profession after level 13, the Magic Mask cannot imitate them.

After Gao Fei wears the "Warrior Mask", he is not a part-time warrior, nor a secondary profession. The experience points obtained are only used to improve the level of the imitator. When the imitator reaches a certain level, he will automatically comprehend the various abilities corresponding to the "Warrior Mask".

The same is true for other "Magic Masks".

Compared with the "Tiangong Special Police", the imitator can get less benefits from other professions, but he does not need to spend a lot of experience points to improve the secondary profession.
