Chapter 48 Sand Roll Beast

"Hold on a little longer. Major Garcia said there is a post station not far ahead. We can have some hot soup and hot meals there and have a good rest for the night."

Gao Fei smiled and comforted the anxious Jiang Nvxia.

While chatting, a humming sound came from the front of the camel team.

The scout who was exploring the way blew the horn to remind his teammates to be alert and there might be danger ahead.

Everyone jumped off the camel in a hurry, showed their weapons, and held the reins tightly with the other hand.

"Major, what's the situation ahead?" Jiang Feng shouted.

"Sir, it's not a big deal. The scouts found that there are dense caves on the sand ahead, most of which are the nests of a group of wild sandworms." Garcia had a smile on his chubby face, "Sandworms are relatively gentle creatures. They usually don't take the initiative to provoke a large group of people. We just need to go around them."

"I hope it's as you said." Jiang Feng still held his weapon tightly and did not relax his vigilance because of Garcia's words.

The camel team kept alert and continued to move forward. As expected, they saw a lot of holes scattered on the flat sand along the way. Most of the holes were oval, about five feet long and three feet wide. The walls were smooth, and it was easy to see the traces left by the frequent shuttling of sandworms.

Gao Fei noticed that the size of a few holes was particularly large, almost twice the size of ordinary wormholes. Out of curiosity, he asked Major Garcia about it.

Major Garcia was not sure, scratched his head, and guessed that those caves with larger diameters might be love nests built by a pair of sandworm partners for mating and laying eggs.

Jiang Feng, who was walking in front, suddenly stopped and winked at Gao Fei: "Look, what is that?"

Gao Fei looked in the direction of her finger and saw a slender skeleton like a giant python quietly crawling on the sand. The pale and symmetrical ribs reflected the faint phosphorescent fire in the moonlight, which was chilling.

"It looks like the skeleton of a sandworm..." Gao Fei guessed.

"Then the question is, who gnawed the sandworms to the point where only bones are left?" Jiang Feng asked.

Gao Fei couldn't answer this question, so he turned and looked at Major Garcia: "Will the sandworms kill each other?"

"Sandworms usually don't fight each other unless they are competing for a mate." Garcia hesitated for a moment, then said, "Even if they are competing for a mate, the winner will just drive away the competitor, not kill the other party, and won't gnaw the sandworms to the point where only bones are left. Anyway, I haven't heard of such a situation."

"If the sandworms didn't kill each other, it would be even more troublesome." Gao Fei took a deep breath, his face solemn, "Everyone be careful! There may be monsters lurking nearby that are more terrifying than sandworms!"

Before the warning was passed on, the accident that Gao Fei was worried about happened.

A particularly wide hole suddenly spewed out a large amount of yellow sand, which quickly spread in the air, making the surrounding area smoky and miasma. The nearby soldiers inhaled the sand and dust unexpectedly, and coughed repeatedly.

Under the cover of the sand and dust, a huge figure emerged from the cave. At first glance, it looked like a sandworm, but it was thicker and longer than a sandworm. It crawled quickly along the sand and approached the camel team in a blink of an eye.

At this time, the sand and dust had been blown away by the wind. Gao Fei looked at the giant worm through the thin dust. His scalp tingled and his heart was filled with a chill!

The monster was more than twice as thick and long as an ordinary sandworm, and its image was far more hideous than that of a sandworm. It was like a huge pine caterpillar, with yellow and black mottled skin wrinkled and trembling. The surface of the body was covered with reddish-brown hard bristles, each of which was one or two feet long and as thick as a steel needle. The sharp tip oozed green mucus, which evaporated with the wind and smelled like bitter almonds. It was obviously highly poisonous!

This ugly monster suddenly appeared and caused a commotion in the camel team. The frightened camels lost control and tried to get rid of the reins and escape.

The officers and soldiers of the escort team hurriedly comforted the camels, shouting and yelling, and the scene was in chaos.

The strange insect in the sand shook its retractable tentacles, and suddenly rushed towards the camel closest to it, and its huge head hit the camel's side abdomen heavily.

Boom!

The roar echoed in the night sky, and the poor animal seemed to be hit by a battering ram, wailing in pain, staggering for a while, and finally failed to stand firm and fell sideways.

The soldier on the camel's back was also thrown off, one leg was pressed by the saddle, and blood immediately stained the trouser legs red.

Major Garcia's forehead was covered with cold sweat, and he shouted anxiously: "Quick! Save people!"

Before he finished speaking, the high-flying berserker had already rushed up in one step!

He activated "Rage" while running, and his strength attribute soared to 24 points. He held the camel that had fallen to the ground with both hands, roared, and exerted force with both arms. His sleeves were suddenly burst by the suddenly expanded muscles, and he lifted the camel more than two feet off the ground!

Almost at the same time, Jiang Feng's monks also rushed over, threw out the "Sword Belt", turned it into a rope to entangle the injured soldier, and dragged him out of the sand pit.

Gao Fei secretly breathed a sigh of relief when he saw the wounded soldier out of danger.

The man was saved, but as for the camel, he was powerless.

The fallen camel vomited a lot of bloody foam, and its lungs had been pierced by broken ribs. It was weak and could not be saved.

Gao Fei took two steps back, holding the battle axe tightly in both hands, and his eyes fell on the collapsed side of the camel, and found that it was full of bristles that fell off the giant insect. The wound was dark blue and purple, which was obviously a sign of the toxin attack.

Major Garcia fiddled with his short legs and ran to the tall and mighty Berserker. He grabbed the holy emblem and recited a prayer praising the old man of the sun. He first stopped the bleeding and healed the wounded soldier with a broken right leg. Then he cast the 2nd ring magic "delayed poison attack" on Gao Fei and Jiang Feng respectively, making them immune to all poison damage in the next six hours.

Gao Fei looked at the major gratefully.

Jiang Feng whispered: "This guy is so anxious to give us the anti-poison buff, isn't it just to let us go up and die?"

"The major is just carrying out the intention of the game designer. Why are you arguing with an NPC tool man?"

Gao Fei smiled casually, opened the star disk monster illustration, and checked the origin of the ferocious giant worm with poison all over the body on the opposite side.
