Silicon Invasion

#203 - Re-enforcement

Niu Wei, despite his constant joking and carefree attitude, was an extremely ambitious person. He was unwilling to just be an ordinary pilot after graduation; he had higher aspirations.

In fact, most students at the Pilot Academy shared similar ambitions, but some saw little hope, while others had already glimpsed the light of dawn.

Niu Wei was among the latter. Since his junior year, his life had revolved around training and participating in various competitions. In just one year, he had earned numerous honors. Compared to others, his resume was already impressive enough, making him a standout in his graduating class.

But even that wasn't enough. There was no rule stating that each graduating class had to have one or more individuals qualified to pilot fourth-generation aircraft. Some classes had graduated for several years without producing a single fourth-generation pilot.

Moreover, Niu Wei was merely a standout in his class. Even if there were available slots, it would be a tough competition for him to secure one.

Therefore, he needed more. Today's Expert-level completion achievement, although somewhat inflated, held significant value because they would be exploring Maikan in the future, and silicon-based beasts were the primary enemy.

Niu Wei was drunk, even though he was only drinking beverages. But as the saying goes, it's not the wine that intoxicates, but the person. Amidst the laughter and chatter, time passed quickly, and it was getting late.

Staggering and swaying, it was almost eight o'clock. At this hour, the school was already closed for entry and exit. Although they had passes, those things only worked for leaving, not returning. Going back now could result in demerits.

For those aiming for greater heights, this was completely unacceptable. So, after a quick discussion, they decided to stay out for the night.

Coincidentally, there were four guys and two girls, and three standard rooms would suffice. Luo Rui was happy to stay out. He had originally planned to take advantage of the day to enhance his attributes, but who knew they would decide to share rooms.

Luo Rui firmly opposed this, making excuses such as not being used to it, not being comfortable, being a Virgo with cleanliness obsessions, and being shy.

"Could it be that yours is small? It's okay, I won't look at it," Niu Wei suddenly exclaimed, as if he had just realized something. While Luo Rui, Wang Ming'an, and Zuo Kun were still stunned, Tong Yue and Lin Xinxin instantly understood.

"Shameless!" Tong Yue spat fiercely. Prompted by her reminder, the three guys pondered for a moment before finally understanding, wearing expressions of sudden realization.

Luo Rui's face flushed slightly. His skin was still quite thin, especially in front of girls. Besides, Niu Wei's words were pure slander. His had been enhanced; if he really pulled it out, it would scare you to death.

Luo Rui snorted inwardly, but he couldn't say those words out loud, nor could he prove it on the spot. He could only suppress his anger. Suddenly, a thought flashed through his mind, and he said to Niu Wei, who had a mischievous grin on his face, "I'm afraid you have a thing for guys."

Unfortunately, Luo Rui underestimated Niu Wei's shamelessness. Facing the laughter of the crowd, he seriously sized up Luo Rui a few times, then nodded to himself, "If it were you, I think I could."

Luo Rui retreated in defeat.

Although the process was a bit tortuous, Luo Rui finally managed to get a single room. Now that he had a place, there was no need to rush the enhancement.

First, he ordered twenty servings of takeout. He hadn't eaten enough earlier and wanted to replenish himself. Plus, he would definitely need to fill his stomach after the enhancement, so he ordered a bit extra.

Then, he took a shower. The delivery guys were very efficient. Luo Rui had barely scrolled through his phone for a while when the doorbell started ringing incessantly. Fortunately, Luo Rui had foreseen this and specifically chose a room that was far away from the others. Actually, there was no need to be so careful because his deluxe room was separate from their standard rooms, one on the second floor and the other on the third floor.

After a busy half hour, all the takeout had arrived. He wondered if so many delivery guys suddenly coming had attracted the hotel's attention. Luo Rui waited another half hour, quickly finished a few servings, and then, after confirming that no one was coming to check, locked the door from the inside and sat back on the bed.

"Phew ~"

Luo Rui breathed a sigh of relief and opened the list.

Strength: 1.2

Agility: 1.5

Endurance: 1.3

Energy: 1102 points

Luo Rui didn't know how the attribute points were deducted. Last time, it cost 800 energy points to enhance Agility from 1.4 to 1.5, but this time, it didn't show that he could enhance again until the attribute points exceeded 1000.

But now that everything was ready, there was no time to think about these things. It was just a matter of eating a few more meals.

1000 energy points disappeared, and the enhancement officially began.

Each time an attribute increased by one point, the pain during enhancement increased by one point. Fortunately, this was a gradual process; otherwise, no one could withstand the pain of increasing by 1.5 attributes right from the start.

Originally, Luo Rui thought he had already experienced the pain of 1.5, and so much low-level enhancement pain, that the pain of 1.6 wouldn't be so bad. But he still underestimated the pain level of this enhancement.

Luo Rui, who was lying quietly, suddenly twitched. His face changed from yellowish-white to red almost instantly. This wasn't a localized phenomenon, but Luo Rui's entire body was as red as a cooked shrimp.

At the same time, the veins in various parts of his body bulged out, like the black-purple ravines on the red earth of hell, causing those who looked upon them to tremble.

"Ugh…"

Since his body surface was already exhibiting this state, the inside couldn't be much stronger. Luo Rui only felt that his flesh and bones were melting at this moment, and then, like dough, being kneaded and rubbed.

Whether it was the body's protective mechanism taking effect, or he really had turned into dough, after a few dozen seconds, Luo Rui, who couldn't even roar and could only hum continuously, could no longer feel the existence of his limbs…

At the same time, his head began to feel dizzy, and some sounds began to become extra clear, such as the battle in the next room, panting and groaning miserably, and the sound of the air conditioner outside the room, whirring and making people irritable. Chaotic noises filled Luo Rui's brain, causing him to suffer both physically and mentally.

But soon, these sounds seemed to be stretched out, slowed down, until Luo Rui couldn't distinguish what they were…

The soothing tones diverted Luo Rui's attention, and the pain in his body seemed to be restrained, or rather, he could no longer feel the existence of his body, so there was naturally no pain.

This situation was unprecedented, and Luo Rui was a little panicked, but the swollen, painful brain and infinitely slowed-down sounds stopped his wild thoughts.

Time seemed to stop flowing, and the sounds had disappeared. Everything was so quiet that even Luo Rui's thoughts seemed to have stopped.

Luo Rui didn't know how long had passed. He only felt as if his whole person suddenly shuddered, and everything began to return.

Everything he possessed was returning at an accelerated rate. He felt his torso, felt his limbs, and heard the sounds again. The sounds began to accelerate, quickly returning from the extremely slowed-down single tones to their original state.

The battle in the next room, the air conditioner outside the wall, even the whispers downstairs were so clear at this moment…
