Soviet Union 1991

Main text Chapter 848 Unreliable revolutionary friendship

Divide Eastern Europe?

This idea is indeed very crazy. Let's not talk about how to allocate spheres of influence. The four words "dividing Europe" alone are contrary to the original trend of great unification. After all, being the leader of Europe is Germany's wish for thousands of years.

Falling back into a situation of division is just the Soviet Union's attempt to recover its strategic disadvantage. The polar bear is now surrounded on all sides and the strategic environment is dangerous. Although attempts have been made to support pro-Russian regimes to come to power and have achieved success in a small range, in general, if there is no attempt to make changes, the Soviet Union will still be suppressed for the next ten or twenty years.

If Yanayev wants to be liberated from the political cage, he must see the turmoil in Eastern Europe.

Only when things are in chaos can there be opportunities to fish in troubled waters.

"Military aggression is absolutely impossible. So far, except for the unstable Romania that is suffering from political looting, the other Eastern European countries have basically developed steadily. Since tough measures cannot be taken, then we should directly weaken Eastern Europe into a soft state."

Yanayev's words are quite similar to the non-aggression treaty signed between the Third Reich and the Soviet Union, except that there is a deeper conspiracy behind it.

The Soviet Union is ambitious to expand its sphere of influence. If it expands alone, the remaining Germany and France will definitely be eyeing the hostile invasion of the red polar bear. With the instigation of the United States, the Tripartite Alliance will collapse on its own, and it may fall into the Cold War again and be targeted by the whole world.

If you want to expand, you have to take risks. The outcome of failure is nothing more than fleeing to the Netherlands like the Hohenzollern family.

The best way is to drag the European powers into the water to cover up their intentions of political expansion. The alliance of major powers sacrifices the interests of small countries and establishes a more stable political circle. It can also be regarded as a trump card for Yanaev to solve the Eastern European problem for his successor.

The best way to get the skin of a tiger is to be a giant bear that is more terrifying than a tiger.

"Deal, although I also hate Kohl's so-called alliance policy, it is just a drag on Germany's development. The real expansion should be conquest and plunder, and include Eastern European countries in the scope of the origin of the Western European market. It's just the scope of Eastern European expansion. If there is no unified argument, it will be very troublesome."

Krenz crossed his legs and asked word by word, "For example, which country can we swallow up, and which country can you swallow up?"

Yanaev pushed the glasses on his nose and answered in a deep voice, "We only need to ensure the security of the Soviet Union's borders, and we don't want to care about everything else. As for how far Germany can swallow up, it depends on its own ability."

This is an ambiguous answer. The Soviet Union's border line extends from Finland to Romania to Turkey in Asia, almost covering the entire Eastern European region. Ensuring the political security of the border is equivalent to including all Eastern European countries in its sphere of influence. This is simply a strategic strategy tailored for the Soviet Union itself.

Krenz saw through this, but he didn't say it out loud. Because it was also very beneficial to Germany, turning Warsaw into a sphere of influence shrouded by German political clouds, and completing the original Führer's blitzkrieg without spending a single soldier.

"Very good, I agree with your point of view. As long as the Soviet Union and Germany unite, no Eastern European country will be our opponent."

If the Soviet Union does not take action, Germany can expand its sphere of influence unscrupulously, and everything will return to the beginning of 1940. The appeasement of Britain and France expanded the ambitions of the empire. In the end, it led to the unscrupulous prairie fire that burned everything.

"There is also the issue of oil loans, and the repayment period is four years."

After four years, the hole in crude oil prices has already fallen to an ugly state. In fact, Yanaev used oil to replace himself, and the final result was that he made money.

Krenz tapped his fingers on the sofa, with a look of relief and indescribable expression in his eyes. He stretched out his hand and said to Yanaev, "No problem, we should toast to the cooperation between the Soviet Union and Germany."

Yanaev smiled and said nothing. The two sides quickly signed a secret agreement, including restrictive treaties, rights and obligations between the Soviet Union, France and Germany. To be honest, Yanaev did not hold much hope for this thin piece of paper. He just wanted to temporarily resolve the pressure on the Western Front and strive for the opportunity to transform Eastern Europe.

After this secret meeting, Yanaev returned to Moscow with the secret agreement. He looked grim when he came, and he did not get any better when he left. Even after stepping onto the flying Kremlin, he still had a cold expression. Silently recording something in the notebook.

Primakov realized that Yanaev was vaguely worried about something, and he whispered, "Is the general secretary worried about our deal with Germany?"

He shook his head and closed the notebook. He looked up at Primakov and said, "No. Did I take the Triple Alliance for granted, or is Germany more complicated than I thought?"

"What does the general secretary mean?"

Primakov frowned in confusion.

"I had expected this negotiation to be very firm. After all, many of the Soviet treaties were not in line with Germany's strategic interests, but Krenz bit off the offer. Isn't that strange?"

"Especially when discussing the Soviet Union's guarantee of border political security, everyone can see that our border is several times that of other countries. The purpose of ensuring security is to expand the influence of Eastern Europe, but Krenz still agreed. That's the thing I'm most worried about. Germany doesn't have it. On the surface, it seems to be cooperating with the Soviet Union, from the initial acceptance of Soviet-style armaments, sending former East German air force personnel to our country for training, to the current purchase of fighter jets, which seems to emphasize the Soviet-German alliance, but in fact everything is in line with German democracy. The interests of the Baath Party and the Democratic Republican Army.”

Yanayev sighed. The development of the matter to this point has somewhat deviated from the original intention. Originally, he just wanted to muddy the water in Europe. But now it seems to be grooming a potential European hegemon.

The Triple Alliance is indivisible and the rise of Germany cannot be stopped. Yanayev is in a dilemma in terms of choice.

Take one step and see one step.

Before Primakov could express his opinion, Yanayev said first, "We'll see when the time comes. If Germany has sinister intentions behind it, we will take immediate action and cut off the other side's retreat."

He sighed and said somewhat melancholy, "In this world, even revolutionary friendship is unreliable." (To be continued.)
