Chapter 640 Tears

In the quiet library, only the faint light and the occasional sound of turning pages broke the tranquility. In a corner, Ying sat alone, his eyes empty and confused, as if he had been plunged into endless darkness. On his chest, the pendant lay quietly, and a black crack appeared on the originally smooth surface. The crack was looming in the dimness, as if it was telling something.

Ying's breathing gradually became rapid, and his hands were clasped together, as if he was trying to suppress the trembling in his heart. His shoulders began to tremble slightly, as if he was in great pain. However, he tried hard to control his emotions and tried not to let out his sobs.

However, he still couldn't control his tears. They slid down his cheeks and dripped onto the back of his hands, bringing a cold feeling. Shadow's sobs gradually became louder, and his body began to tremble violently.

At this moment, a pair of warm hands gently patted his back. This sudden touch made Ying's body stiffen. He raised his head pessimistically, tears blurring his vision. Through the blur of tears, he saw a familiar figure—Mr. Wright.

Mr. Wright is the librarian and takes good care of Shadow. When he saw Ying's appearance, his heart tightened. In his eyes, although Ying is still a child, he has always been very mature and strong. He had never seen Ying look so glum, which made him feel a little at a loss.

"Shadow? What's wrong with you?" Mr. Wright asked softly, his tone full of concern and worry.

Ying tried hard to wipe away the tears from the corners of his eyes, trying to see Mr. Wright's face clearly. He suppressed the grief in his heart and tried to make his voice sound calmer: "I'm fine, sir. I was just moved by the characters written in this book."

As he spoke, he pointed to the book open in front of him. It was a book about history and heroic legends. The words on the pages were wet with tears and became somewhat blurry.

Mr. Wright glanced at the book and noted the name and page number. He knew that Ying was a smart child who liked to read various books to enrich himself. He believed what Ying said and thought he was just moved by the stories in the book.

However, he still saw something wrong in Ying's eyes. It was a kind of deep sadness and despair, as if the pain Ying had endured far exceeded his imagination.

Mr. Wright couldn't help but have some doubts in his heart, but he didn't ask any more questions. He knows that everyone has their own secrets and worries, and some things cannot be easily touched by outsiders.

He patted Ying's shoulder gently and said softly: "It's already very late. Don't let yourself be too tired on the weekend. Otherwise, your body will collapse. It's better to go back to bed early."

Ying nodded and forced a smile. He knew he needed time to calm down and face the pain deep inside. He looked at Mr. Wright gratefully and said softly: "Thank you, sir. I'll keep an eye on it."

Then, he packed up his things and stood up slowly. His steps staggered a bit, but in the end he moved forward firmly. He knows that no matter how many difficulties and challenges lie ahead, he must face them with strength. Because he had more important things to do, and he couldn't just collapse like this.

Mr. Wright looked at Ying's leaving figure and couldn't help feeling a little emotional. He knew that Ying was a special child, with maturity and strength beyond his years. He believed that Ying would be able to overcome this difficulty and get out of his inner shadow. At the same time, he also hopes that he can give Ying more support and help so that he can find his own light and future in this world.
