Strange talk live room
Chapter 119 Xenophobic Mountain Village
Mu Bai nodded happily: "Of course, just ask."
"Are you from that village?" I pointed to Yueyuan Village.
"That's right, but I usually work in the city. No, it's the weekend. I'm back to see my family." Mu Bai was stunned for a moment, and his eyes slowly opened wide.
"Could your live broadcast location this time be in our village?"
"You're right, but your village seems to be very xenophobic. I was kicked out by an old man just now." I said with a wry smile.
"Actually, our village wasn't like this before because something happened a few years ago. They are actually very nice people and it's not directed at you. Don't mind." Mu Bai sighed.
Pretty much what I guessed.
"What happened, can you tell me?"
"This matter is not allowed to be mentioned in the village, nor is it allowed to be told to outsiders." Mu Bai was a little embarrassed, hesitated, and then said: "Actually, it doesn't matter if I tell you, as long as you don't tell other people."
I nodded: "I will keep it secret!"
"It's too hot outside. Go sit at my house and talk." Mu Bai wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Of course I'm happy to, but I don't know if it will bring you any trouble?" I had this intention, so I still wanted to be polite.
"No, I just say you are my friend." Mu Bai smiled.
I followed him into the village. Everyone in the village was probably eating, and few people were walking around outside.
Everyone who saw me looked disgusted, but maybe because Mu Bai was there, they didn't say anything, they just stared at me gloomily with their bowls in hand.
Walking in the village, I felt strange.
It seemed too quiet, not even the barking of poultry and dogs.
The houses in the village are all built together, except for one family. The low and old house stands alone at the foot of the mountain.
"This is my home. It's a bit simple. Don't mind." Mu Bai led me into the courtyard and said a little embarrassedly.
"How is that possible? I'm very grateful that you can take me into the village." I said sincerely.
Mu Bai smiled and shouted into the room: "Grandma, Grandma, I'm back."
"Hey." A slow reply came from the room, and then an old lady on crutches came out.
Her sparse white hair was pulled up into a fluffy bun on the back of her head. Her face was covered with wrinkles and age spots, and her skin looked like the bark of an old locust tree at the entrance of the village. She was so old that her age was almost invisible.
"Xiao Bai is back." The voice was hoarse and old. The old lady's kind smile paused and she looked at me with her muddy old eyes.
"How did you bring him in?"
My heart skipped a beat.
Usually, when we meet strangers, we subconsciously ask who they are, but the old lady didn't ask that, as if she knew who I was.
"Grandma, he is my friend and he came to play with me." Mu Bai said.
"He is trouble!" The old lady curled her lips and shook her head, but she did not directly drive me away like the old farmer I met before.
"No, grandma, he is very nice. If you play here for a day, you will leave with me tomorrow." Mu Bai winked at the old lady and helped the old lady into the house.
"Grandma, you haven't eaten yet. Take a rest and I'll prepare something delicious for you."
The light in the old lady's room was very dark and gloomy, and there was a smell of burning incense.
Out of politeness, I didn't go in and just sat in the main room.
"Boss Li, please sit down for a while. I'll just order some noodles and let's eat some together later." Mu Bai poured me a glass of water and went to work in the kitchen.
The water is very turbid and has a strange smell. I don't know how many days it has been there.
I really couldn't drink it, so I secretly took out the mineral water from my backpack.
"If you don't drink the water in the glass, you will regret it." The old lady's hoarse voice suddenly came from the room, which startled me.
"Regret? Why?"
"I know you have an ulterior motive for coming here. You can deceive my grandson, but you can't deceive me." The old woman said coldly.
"Grandma, I don't mean any harm." I was shocked. What did she see?
"Do you know it in your heart? I'm warning you not to have any ideas about my grandson, otherwise don't blame my old woman for being cold-blooded and ruthless." The old woman snorted coldly.
I wanted to ask again, but Mu Bai came over from the kitchen with two bowls of noodles.
"Boss Li, this is the only condition in the village, so I'll just have some." He put down a bowl of noodles for me and took another bowl to the old lady's room.
Simple plain noodles, served with green vegetables and chopped green onions, with a few drops of clear oil floating on the soup surface, exuding a light fragrance.
I suddenly hesitated whether I should eat this noodle or not.
"Mu Bai, it's not salty enough. Can I add some salt?"
"Okay, I'll get it for you right away."
"You're welcome, I can just add it myself." I picked up the noodle bowl and went to the kitchen.
Behind the kitchen is a dry toilet in the countryside. I quickly poured the noodles into it and waited for a while inside the kitchen.
When Mu Bai's footsteps sounded outside, I picked up the water ladle and scooped up water from the kitchen, pretending to wash the dishes.
"Hey, Boss Li, you are a guest. How can I let you wash the dishes? Just let me do it." When Mu Bai saw it, he immediately ran over and snatched the bowl away.
After washing the bowls in a few seconds, he added some firewood to the stove and served himself a bowl of noodles.
"Mu Bai, I remember you said that your grandmother is a goddess and knows some things that ordinary people don't know."
"Yes, my grandma often helped people read incense and calculate some things. Later, when she got older and her eyesight was not good, she stopped reading."
When the water boiled, Mu Bai threw the noodles into the pot.
"I think it's good. At such an old age, she should have a good rest and stop worrying about those messy things."
An old goddess can see things that ordinary people cannot.
But why was she so hostile to me and warned me not to take advantage of Mu Bai?
Is it because the live broadcast room can bring bad luck to the audience?
"Mu Bai, why didn't you see your parents? Are they not at home?"
"They died when I was very young. I was able to finish college only on the money my grandma earned from looking at incense for others."
"Feel sorry."
"It's okay, I don't have much impression of my parents anyway." Mu Bai shrugged his shoulders indifferently, picked the noodles into a bowl, put some seasoning on it, and finished it in two or three bites.
"It's not easy for your grandma. It can be seen that she loves you very much. However, she seems to not welcome my arrival like everyone else in the village."
"As long as I'm here, it'll be okay." Mu Bai smiled, looked outside, and lowered his voice: "If you knew what happened in the village, you would understand their mood."
"In the end what happened?"
"I don't know if it's due to the water quality. There are very few girls in our village. Almost every household has boys." Mu Bai said in a low voice.
"If someone has a girl, the whole village will treat her like a baby. However, something happened five years ago, and as a result, there was no girl in our village."
