Study Days at Hogwarts
Chapter 45: Self-study late...?
In the evening, during meal time, Charlie sat next to Albert and told him some rules about the Quidditch game while eating. He also suggested that Albert read "The Origins of Quidditch" when he had time.
"How long is the longest game at Hogwarts?" Albert asked curiously. If the Quidditch game is not over until the Golden Snitch is caught, what if the Golden Snitch is lost?
"It's said to be three days." Charlie thought for a while and said, "In the end, we couldn't find the Golden Snitch, so we ended the game early, and the side with more points won the game."
While several people were chatting about Quidditch, a sudden female voice interrupted their conversation.
"Albert, Professor McGonagall asked me to give this to you." Angelina handed a folded piece of parchment to Albert.
"Thank you, Angelina." Albert took the parchment and opened it and found that it read:
Thursday night at 7pm, Classroom No. 21 on the sixth floor of the castle, keep in mind Gamp’s basic law of transformation.
"What is this?" Fred, who was eating a potato with skin, dropped his fork and put his head over it.
"Notice from Professor McGonagall, the time and place of the next Transfiguration Club." Albert didn't intend to hide it and handed the parchment directly to Fred.
The twins and Li Jordan immediately rushed to read the contents of the parchment.
"Transfiguration Club, what is that?" Charlie suddenly stopped talking and looked at Albert in confusion.
"The club formed by Professor McGonagall." Albert explained.
"What does it mean to remember Gamp's basic law of deformation?" George asked a little puzzled.
"It's probably the password to enter the classroom." Albert thought for a while and gave his guess.
"Sorry Charlie, if Quidditch training conflicts with the Transfiguration Club's activities, I'm afraid I have to put the Transfiguration Club first."
"Oh, I almost forgot, this happened in the afternoon." Li Jordan also remembered this incident. The twins next to him looked at each other in shock. They also knew about this.
All four of them could see that Charlie wanted to train Albert into a pursuer or seeker, but it was already over before he even started.
What few people knew was that Albert had no intention of joining the Quidditch team. For him, flying on a broomstick was a kind of enjoyment, and the Quidditch game might be interesting, but Albert did not want to conduct rigorous Quidditch training, let alone become a Quidditch player.
As for joining a certain Quidditch team after graduation, forget it!
Charlie felt a little stunned, where was the promised secret weapon?
Before he could warm his hands, he slipped away silently. Charlie decided to find out what was going on first.
"Charlie only wants to win another Quidditch trophy for Gryffindor before leaving." Fred looked at Charlie's leaving back and couldn't help but shook his head.
After the meal, the four of them returned to the Gryffindor lounge. There were people everywhere, and the noise made Albert feel like his head was about to explode.
It was probably the beginning of school, and the Gryffindor little lions had not yet recovered from their summer vacation. If they were given a few more days of trouble, after a lot of homework piled up, they would no longer have the mind and energy to play around here.
"Let's go to the auditorium!" Albert thought for a while, and decided to take a book and go to the auditorium to read it, and take some time to practice magic and other things.
There were a lot less people in the auditorium, and Albert found a quiet place for himself.
After Shanna, who was sitting at the entrance of the auditorium, noticed Albert, she walked next to him and started practicing the luminous spell.
When Albert saw that the other party had tried several times but failed to use the luminous spell, he reminded him, "You should have confidence in yourself and concentrate. When casting the spell, imagine that your wand will glow. "
Shanna's face flushed slightly from holding back, but she still failed.
"You have the wrong mentality, which will affect your success rate in casting spells. If you always think that you are not good, your chances of failure will increase by at least three levels." Albert pointed to the small box next to him, "Would you like to try one? Don’t worry, these are chocolate beans.”
"How do you know?" Shanna couldn't help but ask after eating a few chocolate beans, "I mean how do you know these are helpful for successful spell casting?"
"Do you believe I guessed it?" Albert said with a smile.
"Do not believe."
"Well, it's actually a conclusion drawn from the fact that the transformation spell has failed too many times." Albert didn't lie. It should be said that half of what he said was true. "The emotions of wizards will affect their spells."
"I'll try again." Shanna felt that the chocolate beans in her mouth were a little sweet. She took a deep breath, and after trying a few more times, she finally successfully lit up her wand, and her tight little face also Show an excited smile.
However, the light on Zannah's wand soon went out again.
"You need to focus and practice more, you will definitely succeed." Albert comforted.
"I thought you were going to the library." Lee Jordan sat down next to Albert, looked suspiciously at Shanna who was practicing spells and asked, "I didn't disturb you, did I?"
"Where are the two of them?"
"I don't know." Seeing Zannah practicing the luminous spell, George also took out his wand to practice. His luminous spell was still at a half-baked level.
"What's going on with me?"
"Maybe you're not concentrating enough!"
"What do you mean roughly?" Li Qiaodan was a little depressed, but he still started to focus on practicing. Although there was still time for the next spell class, he wanted to master the spell as soon as possible.
“How does this count as successful mastery?”
"You no longer focus on your wand, but you can still keep it glowing. I think this should be considered a success!" Albert stopped turning the book and thought for a while before replying.
After some hard practice, Li Qiaodan's light technique is not easy to extinguish.
Of course, that was when he focused on the wand. Although Zannah's progress was slower, the effect was still very good.
It turns out that most spells aren't too difficult to master as long as you practice hard.
"Where have you been?"
At about half past eight, the twins finally appeared in the auditorium, both of them looking unhappy.
"Filch just took away most of our dung bombs," Fred said through gritted teeth.
"What's going on?" Albert looked at the two of them suspiciously and asked, "You couldn't have been caught throwing a dung bomb, right?"
Here's what happened... George, who was relatively calm, told the general story.
Not long ago, the two of them were punished by Peeves, and then they went back to the dormitory to get dung bombs to kill Peeves. However, before they were about to take action, Filch caught them and confiscated most of them. Dung bombs.
Filch said it was a prohibited item and confiscated the dung bombs they were preparing to use against Peeves.
The twins' noses were almost crooked with anger.
After listening to the two people's stories, Albert suddenly felt speechless.
What nonsense is this!
