Study Days at Hogwarts

Chapter 2 The Anderson Family’s Past

No one moved, everyone was frozen in place, for at least half an hour...well, actually only about ten seconds.

Albert bent down and picked up the light yellow envelope. It was a letter without stamps. There was a line of words written on it in emerald green ink. He read it softly:

No. 19, Tibbey Avenue, entrance, Mr. Albert Anderson.

When Albert read this paragraph, he found that he had actually triggered a task:

The wizard's path.

You have the potential to be a wizard, but you're not qualified yet. Now you've been given a rare chance to become a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Reward 10,000 experience points, 2 skill points, and wizard bloodline +1.

Wizard blood?

Albert was stunned.

What the hell is this.

Two skill points are very tempting, but you must know that becoming an Eton student only has one point, and after saving for so many years, Albert only got three skill points, and he was reluctant to use them.

However, what's even more confusing is that this is actually a novel world.

The magical world in the Harry Potter novels?

Albert turned the envelope over, and sure enough he saw the Hogwarts shield coat of arms, with a capital "H" surrounded by a lion, an eagle, a badger and a snake.

"Mom, do zoos now train owls to be postmen?" Nia stared curiously at the owl staying nearby.

"Nia, I don't think anyone would use an owl to send a message. At least normal people wouldn't. Maybe, this is just a prank." Daisy looked at her husband, saw Herb frowning, and asked: "Why? Come on, my dear, it’s time for us to go out.”

"Nothing, Albert, show me the letter." Herb said softly.

"Oh, here." Albert handed the envelope to his father.

"Dear!" Daisy was a little unhappy.

Herb didn't notice the displeasure on his wife's face. He quickly opened the envelope, took out the parchment inside, glanced at it, and said, "Children, it seems that our plan will be postponed."

"Dear Herb, what happened, what's the content of the letter?" Daisy felt that her husband was a little abnormal, and her tone couldn't help but become more serious.

"Dad, what was written in the letter?" Nia couldn't help but ask, but Albert, who received the letter, didn't have much reaction.

"Go back to the living room, Daisy." Herb closed the car door hard and returned to the living room with his family.

After the entrance door was closed, the owl that delivered the message still did not leave.

"Dear Herb, you'd better give me a proper explanation." Daisy looked angry. She couldn't wait to see her son put on the Eton uniform.

"Dad, what is the content of the letter? Please read it out to everyone. I also want to know who can predict where I will appear." Albert's face did not show much emotion. Of course he knew this. What's going on with the letter? If you haven't experienced time travel and panel events, you might be shocked after seeing that letter.

But after the first two shocks, he found that he was living in the world of a novel. It didn't seem too strange to think about it. What's more, he had read the best-selling Harry Potter series and had also written a book. This fellow.

At that time, I checked a lot of information, and I still had some understanding of the world view of this novel.

"Then I'll read it." Herb glanced at his son, who was as calm as ever, and read out the content on the parchment:

Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry: Albus Dumbledore (President of the International Federation of Magic, President of the Wizards Association, First Class Wizard of the Order of Merlin)

"Hogwarts...school!" Daisy's eyes widened in shock, because she had already guessed what this was...an admission notice?

"Magic, is there really magic in this world?" Nia's face was filled with excitement that could not be concealed. "I also want to learn magic and go to a magic school."

"I hate Albert, let me go!" Nia looked at her brother dissatisfied. She was about to go over to read the letter, but was stopped by Albert.

"Nia, let dad finish the letter." Albert motioned to his father to continue reading the letter, and took his angry mother to sit down.

"Son, I will never let you go to Hogg..." Daisy was very angry. She felt that her husband might know something.

Herb coughed slightly and continued reading:

Dear Mr. Anderson:

We are pleased to inform you that you have been admitted to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Attached is a list of required books and equipment.

The semester is scheduled to begin on September 1st. We will be waiting for your owl before July 21st.

Yours sincerely, Vice-Principal (Female) Minerva McGonagall.

Herb finished his letter and handed the letter to his son.

Albert glanced at it and handed it to his curious sister. Nia took the letter and ran to her mother Daisy.

After Daisy studied the content of the letter sentence by sentence, she said word by word:

"I never agree to let Albert go to this kind of school. No, someone must be playing a trick on us. Maybe, we should call the police immediately and catch the annoying troublemaker."

"Mom, does the owl waiting for you on the letter ask us to write a reply to them?" Nia suddenly said.

Daisy said nothing, but stared at her husband with oppressive eyes.

Albert asked: "Dad, do you know something?"

"It doesn't count as knowing." Herb put his hand to his head, seeming to be caught up in a brief memory: "When I was about the same age as you, my father, your grandfather, was disappointed that I didn't receive the gift from Hogg. Watts’ letter was disappointing.”

"I once asked my father what Hogwarts was, and he just said it was a school."

"Later, one time my father was drunk and asked me why he wanted me to go to Hogwarts."

"He only said he was a squib, but I don't know what that word means." Herb's tone was very low. He still remembered that time when his father cried.

"I think now I know what Hogwarts is. My father would be happy to know that his grandson received a letter from Hogwarts."

Of course Albert knew what a squib meant, but he never really thought that he had something to do with the wizard.

In other words, there is no similar skill in his skill bar, otherwise he would have noticed it long ago.

"Yes, I should write him a letter, no, call him, he will definitely be very happy!" Herb said suddenly, as if he was planning to call his father.

"Herb Anderson!" Daisy shouted, "Albert should go to Eton, where he would achieve things we can't even imagine, instead of going to a school you've never heard of, you know? This Regarding his future, I will never allow you to..."

"Mom, we haven't confirmed whether magic exists yet." Albert stretched out his hand to grab his mother who was about to run away, and comforted softly: "Didn't the letter say that the owl is waiting for you? Maybe, we should write a letter to each other to let you know. Then people from Hogwarts school come to prove whether magic exists. If they can't prove it, then it means it's a lie."

"Okay, son, I agree with you, let that damn school prove the authenticity of this letter." Daisy clenched her fist and waved it vigorously, "Wait and see, I will call the police Catch those crooks and put them in jail for a few years."
