Stupid Odin
#202 - Doomsday
"What? What did they do?" The Sumerian God-King Enlil was horrified, feeling the world's violent tremors. He didn't even know what was happening.
Different worlds, different rules. The Sumerian world, strictly speaking, didn't have its own world will. The ability of the Sumerian world to act was jointly controlled by several previous generations of gods.
For example, there was the very primitive [God of Sweet Waters] Abzu, whose consciousness was like an order-based sludge. This guy was like the mud that made up the world – note, mud, not soil. He was just a mass of viscous consciousness. Incidentally, his opposite goddess was the Chaos Goddess, the famous Tiamat.
After that came the second generation of gods, the more solidified Lahmu and Lahamu.
Further on were the third-generation gods who could lock spatial positions – the celestial axis god Anshar and the terrestrial pole goddess Kishar.
The first three generations were primordial gods formed from chaos. It was through the cooperation of these three generations of gods, coupled with the most concrete fourth-generation god, [God of the Sky] Anu, that the entire Sumerian world was able to move.
God-King Enlil was already a fifth-generation god.
Now, the direct whipping attack launched by that Jötunheimr world was equivalent to hitting Enlil's preceding four generations of gods all at once. How could Enlil not be horrified?
【That world is very strange, and its activity is very high. It whipped me with a cluster of vines.】 Anu, in pain, still carefully explained to his God-King son.
The damage caused to the Sumerian world by this attack wasn't too severe in itself.
To use a wound as an analogy to humans, it was just a flesh wound.
What was truly terrifying wasn't the wound itself, but the cosmic chaotic energy that broke through the world barrier and poured into the Sumerian world.
If left unchecked, this chaotic power might even activate Tiamat, the leader of chaos who had previously wreaked havoc in the Sumerian world!
Enlil's face was ashen, and he roared out a name: "Marduk! Go to the breach."
"Yes." A tall male god stepped forward from below the throne, receiving the order and departing.
The storm god Marduk was no ordinary figure.
The Babylonian creation epic said that Marduk resisted Tiamat's invasion with great courage. Before the battle, he repeatedly demanded that the gods grant him supreme authority.
When he used the power of the storm to tear open Tiamat's belly, the gods were immensely grateful and bestowed upon him 50 honors. Therefore, Marduk combined the perfection of various divine traits into one, becoming the "chief of the gods, king of kings."
Of course, at this point in time, Marduk was just a capable subordinate of Enlil.
Marduk using his divine power to help Anu repair the sky and suppress the invasion of chaotic forces is a story for later.
The key is that this great battle between the two worlds had entered a completely new stage – it was no longer a 'proxy war' where the two worlds sent gods as representatives, but had escalated to a direct confrontation between the two worlds.
On the other side, under Thorns' control, the Jötunheimr world, after fiercely whipping the Sumerian world that wanted to collide with it using the roots of the World Tree, Jötunheimr appeared extremely excited.
【Thorns Paulson! Well done! I never thought I could make such an attack!】
Thorns wasn't sure if it was his imagination, but he always felt that the world consciousness was now flattering him?
Thorns smiled faintly: "Our interests are highly aligned, aren't they?"
【Get rid of that rude fellow! Your and my power can be further increased!】
"Don't rush! If we fight to the death, you will also be seriously injured."
【Then everything will be done according to your instructions!】
The Jötunheimr world will was truly afraid; if the other world really collided, it would be crippled even if it didn't die.
Now it was different.
Using Thorns' control, the World Tree, as the embodiment of the world's will, directly transformed into a top spinner, using its roots to strike whenever the opposing world rushed up, cleverly disrupting its balance.
The Sumerian world was like a bull being teased and slaughtered by a matador in a bullring, even though it charged fiercely. After the 'matador' Jötunheimr repeatedly disrupted its balance, the Sumerian world was in an extremely passive state of bleeding.
The rock shield that served as the world barrier was already scarred and battered.
There were countless huge gaps over ten kilometers long, and quite a few super-giant breaches at the hundred-kilometer level.
Normally, the Sumerian world could use its rock shell to prevent chaotic energy from leaking out at all, but once the [Lulludanitu] rock layer was repeatedly destroyed, it was Enlil and the other Sumerian gods in the celestial realm who would bear the most direct impact.
This was a doomsday-like scene!
The rocky sky collapsed.
Fragments of broken rock walls mixed with chaotic aura crashed down, like breadcrumbs falling from a world-class giant eating bread. Even for the Sumerian gods, these 'breadcrumbs' were too huge.
The dome of the magnificent temple was pierced by giant rock fragments, and even with the foundations destroyed, the entire temple collapsed from the celestial realm and plunged straight into the mortal realm.
The screams emitted by these palaces, built by countless divine attendants and servants as they fell, were very much like the wails of some primordial behemoth.
This wasn't just one place, but the entire Sumerian celestial realm had turned into a huge sieve, with some temples that were once feared and worshiped by mortals constantly falling.

"Woo—"
The ear-piercing sound of destruction reverberated throughout the Sumerian world.
Mortals walked out of buildings one after another, silently watching this tragic scene.
The dim and unclear brilliance composed of chaos and destruction became the only theme of this sky, reflecting on the faces of every mortal.
"Boom!"
A human city-state became a sacrificial victim. The gods they worshiped had already fallen in the invasion of the Jötunheimr world, so naturally, no other gods would come to save this mortal city-state located beneath the temple of the fallen god.
Giant objects such as fragments of the celestial temple, under the force of gravity, turned into the most terrifying bombs, completely ravaging the entire world.
No building could withstand such a terrible bombardment.
Horses were frightened and had long ignored their masters' will, madly running around on the pitted grasslands.
Endless streams of strange meteor fire rained down from the sky, and homeless mortals supported each other, walking numbly through the fire rain.
The prayers of mortals received no response.
"Supreme God-King Enlil! Are you going to destroy humanity again?" The priests of the various great temples kowtowed until they bled, but received no response.
Their gods… had abandoned them once again!
The Sumerians were no strangers to this, but unlike in the past, this time there was no wise Enki to guide them on how to escape.
Coincidentally, at this point in time, a group of mysterious people appeared in the refugee flows of the major city-states.
"Do you know which world we are fighting against?"
