Stupid Odin

#217 - Just get there

The black wind elemental giant let out a resounding roar.

Controlling a mass of wind element compressed to its limit, Enlil, having successfully escaped, announced his return with this bellow.

Rushing forward, Enlil whipped up a gale, sending the shattered seabed coral back into the sea in the form of near-microscopic dust.

Following the parted seabed, he fought his way to the final stage of this battle, a deserted coral reef island.

He appeared to be the same Wind God King as before, without any changes.

No, perhaps his angry roar was far more intense than before.

In the past, this terrifying figure of his, preparing for a great slaughter, would surely have caused the Sumerian gods to tremble.

Now, seeing him through the mental projection, Enki's shoulders trembled slightly.

Ishtar, still in the Valhalla dungeon, had an expression as if she was about to cry. Ereshkigal didn't speak, but silently leaned over and held her sister's hand through the water sphere.

Enlil was still that irritable old brother, even though he knew that it was highly likely that Downs had deliberately released him, he still desperately denied the despair before him.

"Downs! Are you finally willing to face me?" In the raging tornado, Enlil's eyes flickered with what seemed to be still-sharp electric light.

In the center of his vision, enthroned upon the God King's seat formed by the sky and the sea, that giant golden-armored figure remained seated.

The seawater beneath Downs seemed to have become solid, solidifying into a nine-story-high seawater divine throne. Below the divine throne, there were not only clear steps, but even the different carvings on the divine throne symbolizing the Ten Realms were no different from his divine throne in the Silver Palace.

The sky above Downs' head automatically became his backdrop. These were light screens recording past great battles. What these mental projections were playing were the continuous great battles he had experienced. From killing the Frost Ancestor Giant Ymir to annihilating the Vanir God King Njord, then to killing Aegir, destroying Odin, and finally, the recent second beheading of Odin.

No, this wasn't the most recent.

Enlil was shocked to discover that the scene on Downs' right hand side was exactly what was happening now.

He—the dignified Sumerian God King—was going to become one of Downs' glorious achievements?

No!

How could the proud Enlil accept this?!

"Don't underestimate me!" Enlil protested loudly.

His voice seemed to have angered the flying swords suspended in the air above Downs' shoulders.

Anyone with a bit of discernment could easily see the horror of those divine swords.

Each sword represented a world controlled by Downs.

The Sumerian gods didn't recognize these swords, but one immediately triggered palpitations in their hearts. The one with wisps of mist lingering around it, didn't it represent the world of Niflheim beneath their feet?

Enki looked up and saw the shadows of the continents located in the middle and even upper layers of the World Tree, lost in thought.

What these ten swords represented, there was no need to ask in detail!

"Ahhhhh—"

The dignified Sumerian God King Enlil began his final charge.

The biting gale accelerated his movements.

He was fast, but the swords were even faster!

Penetration!

Before he could react, the first [Sword of Midgard] had already pierced through his wind armor and pierced into his left shoulder.

Enlil instinctively wanted to pull the sword out, but the second [Sword of Alfheim] had already arrived, flashing with brilliant light.

The third, the fourth, the fifth…

These divine swords flew through the air, repeatedly ravaging the wind god's divine body.

In the blink of an eye, the dignified God King Enlil was covered in wounds.

The divine swords representing individual worlds severed the wind god's limbs, split open his head, and pierced into his heart.

Even so, the wind god did not simply die.

Enlil was an elemental god.

His body wasn't like a human's, with simple vital points.

Attacks that would be fatal to others were just a large loss of divine power to him.

As long as his divine soul remained, his missing body would be filled with wind elements in the next moment.

In order to reduce the loss per unit area, he even completely elementalized his body, turning into a ten-story-high wind giant. He continued to charge towards Downs' Jötunheimr elemental divine throne.

Ishtar stopped counting after Enlil's body was shattered for the third time.

Sealed off by Jötunheimr's [Sky] world barrier and the sea, Enlil, unable to replenish wind elements, was only a matter of time before his defeat.

Just as she thought, what Downs was carrying out was nothing more than a cruel execution of a shameless intruder.

After having his body blasted apart countless times, Enlil was still charging forward frantically.

But his opponent, Downs, was calmly crossing his legs, placing his hands together on his lower abdomen, and calmly watching his final struggle.

This was like a deliberately performed, endlessly repeating tragedy.

Enlil couldn't even get close to Downs. Every time he advanced ten meters or so, he would be severely beaten back by the impact of the divine swords.

"How is this possible?!"

The most up ⊥ new ⊥ small ⊥ say ⊥ in ⊥ six ⊥ 9 ⊥ ⊥ book ⊥ ⊥ bar ⊥ ⊥ first ⊥ hair!

Enlil tried to destroy those divine swords.

He failed!

With his earth-shattering power, he couldn't even break such a 'small' sword.

This was simply too absurd.

So much so that he was still staring at the [Sword of Midgard] in his hand when he was blown away by the other three swords.

Downs certainly wouldn't tell him that each [Sword of the Ten Realms] was an embodiment of a small world.

For Enlil to want to break a divine sword was tantamount to him wanting to break an entire continent into pieces like breaking a biscuit with his bare hands.

Enlil couldn't imagine how, with his formless divine body and God King-level brute force, there was still something he couldn't deal with.

This made him extremely frustrated.

Even as another setback struck, Enlil never took a step back.

"Bastard! You just wait! I'm going to go over there and drag you down from that damned divine throne!" Enlil's declaration was more like a dying roar.

He was still trying hard to practice his declaration.

Whether his whole body was pierced by divine swords or split apart, his wind-like pace never stopped.

When his body further expanded, turning into a giant tornado, he seemed to suffer less damage.

However, this was just Enlil's wishful thinking.

After the divine swords pierced through his wind elemental body, they were like gears, flying in a circle behind him before raining down on him again.

Each attack certainly annihilated a part of the wind element and Enlil's divine soul.

The Sumerian God King's overly reckless charging style made him the best target.

Don't think the wind blows fast, Downs' divine swords are even faster.

The idea of slaughtering everything once he rushed in front of Downs was ultimately a pathetic illusion.

…Unreachable.

This reality of never being able to reach, for a dignified God King, was the most cruel irony.

This cruel execution lasted for a full half hour.

When not even a wisp of breeze could be stirred up on the battlefield, Enlil's divine soul completely dissipated between heaven and earth.

The Sumerian God King Enlil, deceased!
