#124 - My CIA is invincible
"Why are there people protesting so early today?"
Sitting in the car, Tang Chao asked with a puzzled look.
"Because it's Saturday today, boss. These people are on vacation, so they came out early," Li Bing said.
"Oh, no wonder. These people really treat this as a holiday activity," Tang Chao curled his lips, then turned to ask Li Bing, "By the way, why are they here? I've been too busy lately to pay attention to the news."
"Because of violent law enforcement leading to death."
"Vio..."
Tang Chao's face darkened, then he looked at the Foreign Affairs Office and back at Li Bing, "Like last year's incident?"
"Almost. There are clear recordings, and the evidence is solid."
As Li Bing spoke, she searched for information on her phone and handed it to Tang Chao.
He took it and looked at it, and it really was pretty much the same.
"Unbelievable, year after year."
The only lesson mankind learns from history is that mankind learns nothing from history!
Or to put it simply: the essence of mankind is a repeater, mankind loves nesting dolls.
This protest started the day they arrived, which was the day Tang Chao confronted the greeter with a wooden board, but he had indeed been very busy these past few days.
During the day, he had to understand the weaknesses of his competitors, and then the team would meet in the evening to rush out PPTs targeting those weaknesses. He had been busy for several days, which led to the wonderful speech that day and the secret aerospace conference last night.
Today, some people have already left one after another because Tang Chao has to keep his appointment, so his return to China has been postponed.
According to Li Bing's analysis, the previous greeter was very likely a CIA agent.
That is, the Central Intelligence Agency of America.
This is a legendary institution with a prominent international reputation. If anything bad happens in the world, suspect them first, and you'll probably be right eighty percent of the time.
And the person he's meeting today is likely to be one of their heads.
After all, it's a matter of discussing "changing allegiance," and given his current international status, it wouldn't be appropriate if someone without weight didn't come.
However, the location the other party gave was very interesting: a luxury restaurant.
They had heard of this restaurant, from that greeter. It was located in a landmark building in Los Santos, a high-rise restaurant with a very good view.
This restaurant had a high occupancy rate. Tang Chao initially wondered if it was appropriate to place the conversation about "changing allegiance" here.
Then Li Bing told him: "It's appropriate, very appropriate. The other party is very smart and should be very confident in this operation."
"The other party wants you to join America, so they must show America's strength, and then what benefits you can get in America. The other party is hosting you in a place with such an open view, which can fully demonstrate..."
Li Bing rattled off a lot, or rather, relayed a lot. A young counter-espionage team member like her shouldn't have this ability, so there must be support from the rear.
Tang Chao understood clearly. These people were indeed powerful. If it were an ordinary person, they might have really followed, but he never intended to change allegiance in the first place.
He had already counted those spies who entered his company as the CIA's responsibility, regardless of whether it was them or not, it wouldn't make much difference to throw it on their heads.
Their reputation was too bad.
After the car left the protest area, the speed picked up, and they soon arrived at the building.
Taking the elevator to the restaurant, someone led them to their seats as soon as they entered. Tang Chao was led directly to a person, while Li Bing, as an assistant, was arranged at a table not far from them.
The waiters were courteous throughout.
The occupancy rate of this restaurant was indeed very high. On the way here, the occupancy rate they saw exceeded 60%.
And the view was indeed open. All around were floor-to-ceiling windows, and because of the height, you could see very far.
His dining table was by a window. Sitting there was an American man who looked less than forty years old, wearing a suit and looking very gentlemanly.
Seeing Tang Chao sit down, he smiled and said, "Mr. Tang, we finally meet. You can call me David."
After speaking, he beckoned a waiter to let Tang Chao order first. Tang Chao didn't stand on ceremony and ordered a few dishes casually, then handed the menu to him to order.
While this David was ordering, Tang Chao received a text message from Li Bing.
[He is David, the Deputy Director of the Intelligence Division of the CIA, belonging to the current presidential faction. The surrounding tables should all be agents, and most of the others should be normal diners.]
After reading the message, Tang Chao deleted it casually.
I didn't expect this guy to really be called David. He gave his real name right away. Are spies these days, especially spy chiefs, so candid?
David noticed Tang Chao looking at him, and slightly opened his arms and said, "What? Is there something inappropriate about me?"
"Nothing."
Tang Chao's brain was working rapidly, and he simply came up with a frank behavior, "I was just wondering, what is the relationship between this David and the Deputy Director David of the CIA's Intelligence Division?"
Hearing Tang Chao say his name and position, the Deputy Director of Intelligence immediately chuckled: "Hehehe, it seems that the rapid development of your Voyager company is not just good luck, but has its own strength."
"Actually, luck is also a kind of strength."
Tang Chao said this.
He didn't lie. If it weren't for luck, he probably wouldn't be sitting here.
The Deputy Director of Intelligence had his own understanding and nodded, "Indeed, luck is also part of strength, such as now, how do you feel about this place? Mr. Tang."
"Elegant environment, open view," Tang Chao turned his head and looked around, "Although I haven't tasted their dishes yet, they should be good, so this is a great restaurant."
"Of course, this is one of the best restaurants in Los Santos. If I hadn't used the CIA's authority, it would have been impossible to squeeze out the guests at this table and let us sit here," David said with a confident smile on his face.
Tang Chao: "..."
"Damn, is this the confidence of one of the world's four major intelligence agencies? They don't even hide this kind of statement from people?"
"Have they been strong for too long and become arrogant?"
David saw through Tang Chao's thoughts, because his surprised expression had already betrayed his inner thoughts, so he continued: "Our CIA is different from other government agencies. We don't need to disclose budgets, employee numbers, or work situations. Just like today's meal, I don't have to spend a penny."
"That's how America is, and that's how we are. I've seen your relevant information. You're very interested in changing your nationality, but in the end, you got hung up on the issue of welfare. Now I can tell you that if you become an American and move your factory here, the CIA will not treat you badly."
Tang Chao could hear that this guy was telling the truth, but there were still other aspects that caught his attention.
"You just said that your CIA treats me favorably. Doesn't that mean I'll directly become an American citizen after I come over?"
"Of course," David smiled and pointed at Tang Chao, "We are very optimistic about you. With your capital, of course you won't be just a citizen. Those are just tools for you to work with."
"We have our identities. Don't worry, the stronger you are, the more freedom you have in this country. Join my camp, and you can do anything."
Hearing this, Tang Chao showed a strange smile: "Anything? Including letting me become president?"
