#74 - Ward 74.419
“You can speak,” Lin Ye said without refusing. He currently had no clue how to resolve this anomaly, and perhaps he could gain inspiration from the Dean's task.
“I need you to go to the Special Ward in the North Building behind the Main Building. There are some patients with particularly severe conditions locked up there. The head nurse is responsible for managing that area. Go find the head nurse; she will tell you what to do.”
The Dean looked at Miles and continued, “As for Mr. Miles, could I trouble you to wait in the Dean's office for Mr. Kevin to return? The Special Ward has many dangerous patients; it's best to leave it to professionals.”
Miles looked at Lin Ye, seeking his opinion with his eyes.
“Okay, you stay here and don't run around. I'll go to the North Building and come back,” Lin Ye said, not wanting to take Miles to that Special Ward that sounded so dangerous. It would be too tiring.
“Excellent, then I'll leave it to you, Mr. Kevin,” the Dean said happily.
Leaving the Dean's office, Lin Ye quickly went downstairs. Although he had temporarily gotten rid of Miles, a bomb that could explode at any time, Miles had the effect of stabilizing the mental hospital. Without him nearby, the surroundings might become less safe.
So, he had to complete the Dean's task as soon as possible and return to the Dean's office before Miles felt uneasy.
Successfully leaving the Main Building, Lin Ye followed the corridor between the Main Building and the North Building into the North Building.
The North Building only had three floors, but the area it covered was larger than the Main Building. The corridor connected to a lobby on the first floor, and the lobby connected to several corridors leading to the interior of the first floor and stairs leading to the second floor.
Lin Ye looked at the information desk in the center of the lobby. Although the lobby was empty, he seemed to hear a noisy sound.
“It's so noisy…” He hated hospitals.
“Where is it noisy?” A clear voice sounded behind Lin Ye. The voice was so close that Lin Ye could even feel the moisture in it.
Turning around, a young woman in a nurse's uniform stood behind Lin Ye. Through the collar, he could see the patient's gown underneath.
“Ms. Mia, the Dean sent me to find the head nurse.” Glancing at the name tag, Lin Ye said calmly.
“The Dean? When did we have a Dean here?” Mia asked with a puzzled look.
“It doesn't matter if there's no Dean. Could you please take me to see the head nurse?” Lin Ye remained unmoved. Whether there was a Dean or not was not important; any information was valuable.
“Forget it, I'm not teasing you. Come with me.” Mia turned around and led Lin Ye to the stairs leading to the second floor.
Lin Ye followed behind Mia, cautiously sensing his surroundings. He didn't realize there was someone behind him until Mia spoke.
‘As expected of a ‘mental’ hospital,’ Lin Ye suddenly thought of Xiao Ye. His use of mental power was still very rough, but if Teacher Xiao Ye were here, she should be able to easily handle the situation here.
Mia led Lin Ye into the third-floor nurse's station, which was empty.
“Do you want to cooperate with me?” Mia locked the door behind her and said abruptly.
“How to cooperate?” Lin Ye didn't say much, but silently prepared to fight desperately.
“…Forget it, since you don't want to cooperate, you can go play with that old thing, the Dean.” Mia suddenly changed her mind. She unlocked the door, signaling that Lin Ye could leave.
It seemed this was her territory.
Lin Ye left the nurse's station, and the door behind him closed tightly, as if separating two spaces.
A cold chill swept over, and Lin Ye quickly rushed to the stairs. As he separated from Mia, the entire third floor seemed to become full of malice.
Lin Ye ran down the stairs to the second floor, and then prepared to rush down the stairs to the first floor, but found that the bottom of the stairs was not the first-floor lobby.
But a floor he had never seen before.
Lin Ye turned around and ran back to the second floor, but found that the second floor had also become the same floor as the floor below.
The stairs faced the nurse's station, and on both sides were circular corridors, with prison-like single rooms distributed in the corridors.
Lin Ye went up and down several floors and found that no matter how he walked, the same floors were outside the stairs.
‘I can only go in and take a look.’ Lin Ye checked the nurse's station but didn't find the medical records of the patients on this floor.
There were no machines like computers here, so Lin Ye had to walk into the circular corridor to check the nearest room, 401.
‘So, this is the 4th floor?’
Pushing open the door, there was no patient in the room, only an empty bed. On the cabinet next to the bed was a transparent vase with a light blue flower in it.
It was a very beautiful flower, and it was very fresh, as if it were blooming.
Lin Ye didn't know much about the types of flowers, and he didn't think there would be flowers he recognized in this kind of place.
He didn't want to touch anything here, especially a living thing.
Just as Lin Ye was about to leave the room, he suddenly felt that something was wrong with his surroundings. The space was layered, and there seemed to be fault lines in the middle.
And he lost the ability to move.
Lin Ye looked down at himself, and then he realized that what was wrong was not the surroundings, but himself.
His whole person, like that flower, was blooming in layers.
Skin, bones, flesh, internal organs, eyes… every part turned into petals of blooming flesh and blood.
As Lin Ye looked down, the petals completely scattered.
… … … … … … …

Lin Ye returned to the prison car again. The previous death experience didn't make him feel pain, but the sense of dislocation and loss of control made him very uncomfortable.
Repeating the previous steps, Lin Ye successfully entered the North Building again.
This time, Lin Ye didn't stop but quickly entered the first-floor corridor.
Mia's purpose was unknown, and the upper floor was dangerous, so he could only explore the first floor first.
If there was also a problem on the first floor, then he could only talk to Miss Mia.
However, at the first-floor nurse's station, Lin Ye successfully met the head nurse, Isabella.
“Hello, the Dean sent me here.” Isabella was a gentle 30-year-old woman who didn't look like a head nurse at all.
“I know your intention, Mr. Kevin, but for your personal safety, you'd better leave here as soon as possible. Don't worry about Mr. Miles; the Dean will take good care of him.” Isabella's tone was gentle and firm.
“Thank you for your concern, but this is my task. I can't leave here until it's completed,” Lin Ye replied calmly.
Seeming to see Lin Ye's determination, Isabella didn't refuse this time, but took out a stack of old maps from the drawer and handed them to Lin Ye.
“This is the map of the North Building. Your location is marked on it. You need to follow the map route to enter room 419 and talk to the patient living inside.”
