Swallowed Star: Copy God

#129 - Trial Tower

Ye Yun returned to his room and rested quietly for the entire night. The next morning, he arrived early at the first-floor lobby of the Ganwu Universe Country Building. When he arrived, almost all of the Ganwu Universe Country's contestants had already arrived.

As a crisp and pleasant notification sound ended, Ye Yun and Luo Feng stood together, exchanged smiles, and then simultaneously extended their right hands to bump fists. Ye Yun softly said,

"Fengzi, good luck!"

"Good luck!"

After a while, an invisible force descended upon the entire plane space. All 1,008,000 participating geniuses, regardless of their location, were instantly teleported away at the same time, entering their respective trial spaces.

The Virtual Universe Company's scale was immense. For this first round of selection alone, they created a separate trial space for each genius, totaling millions!

After a moment of dizziness, Ye Yun regained consciousness. Looking around, he found himself on a massive, nearly rectangular meteorite, almost a hundred kilometers long. The surroundings of the meteorite were simulated, creating a realistic cosmic starry sky scene. Not only were there distant, tiny stars, but even passing pebbles were incredibly clear.

On this massive meteorite, there were seven trial towers. Each trial tower seemed like a mountain with no visible peak, spanning several kilometers in radius. The seven trial towers were distributed in various locations on the meteorite, each marked with a number from one to seven, representing their respective trial tower levels. Only by passing all seven levels of the previous trial tower could one be teleported to the next trial tower.

A wristwatch, uniformly equipped by the Virtual Universe Company, appeared on Ye Yun's wrist. The screen clearly displayed some of Ye Yun's basic information and the rules for conquering the trial towers.

This trial tower space selection was based on the final total score to determine the ranking. The scoring situation for each trial tower had very large differences.

For the first trial tower, perfectly passing each level would earn 10,000 points, with the highest possible score for the entire trial tower being 70,000.

Perfectly passing each level of the second trial tower would earn 100,000 points, with a total of 700,000 points for all seven levels.

For the fifth trial tower, perfectly passing each level would earn 100 million points, with a total maximum score of 700 million for all seven levels.

For the seventh trial tower, the perfect score for each level was 10 billion, with a total maximum score of 70 billion for all seven levels!

The reason for saying that the score difference between each trial tower was extremely large was because the score for one level of a later trial tower exceeded the total score of the entire previous trial tower! For example, if one passed the first level of the seventh trial tower, they would receive a full 10 billion points, which was more than the total score of the previous six trial towers combined!

With such a vast difference in scores, it represented a very large increase in difficulty between each trial tower. Each level of each trial tower only set up different opponents, and the difficulty difference was not actually that great. Geniuses with different inclinations might find some opponents easier or harder to deal with, but overall, the difficulty was consistent, as could be seen from the unchanging score of each level.

However, as soon as one entered the next trial tower, the difficulty would instantly skyrocket, basically matching the difference in scores. The test for the contestants would also become increasingly difficult.

Ye Yun was already clear about these scoring rules. He didn't waste any more time, stretched slightly, and transformed into a blur, arriving at the entrance of the trial tower marked with '1' on the meteorite in the next moment, stepping into it without hesitation.

The space shifted, and as soon as Ye Yun entered the first level of Trial Tower '1', he immediately received a notification:

'First Level of the First Trial Tower: 10,000 ferocious beasts, the 'Blood-haired Mammoth'.

For each ferocious beast killed, you will receive one point. Killing all of them will earn you 10,000 points and direct teleportation to the second level.

If you fail to kill all the ferocious beasts within the maximum duration of ten days, but still survive, you will also be teleported to the second level.

Once a participating contestant dies, the trial ends immediately.'

There were two ways to pass each level of the trial tower: one was to kill all the opponents on that level, and the other was to persist for ten days. This was also why there was the concept of a perfect score. Only by killing all the opponents on each level could one obtain the full score. For example, in the first level of the first trial tower, if one failed to kill all the Blood-haired Mammoths, they would not be able to obtain the full 10,000 points, creating a gap between them and others.

Ye Yun knew that according to Luo Feng's nature, he would inevitably delay killing opponents as much as possible, staying for the full ten days on each level, in order to give his Mosha Race clone and Golden Horned Beast body more time to improve themselves. The maximum time for each trial tower was 70 days, and five trial towers would give him an extra year to cultivate, which was enough for Luo Feng's true combat power to increase again, allowing him to break into a higher ranking.

However, Ye Yun did not plan to do this. He knew in his heart that even if he delayed for a year, his current strength would not undergo a qualitative change. He was clear about the difficulty of the seventh, and final, trial tower. Even Bolan could only bitterly fail on the first level of the seventh trial tower. That was a level of difficulty that these Star-level cultivators could not pass.

Therefore, Ye Yun's initial plan was to go all out, obtain a spot in the top 100 as soon as possible, and have more time to adjust.

Having already made up his mind, Ye Yun summoned six ink-colored throwing wheels that concealed a mottled luster. Under Ye Yun's control, these throwing wheels emitted different colored lights, flying swiftly towards the distant Blood-haired Mammoth herd. As the different colors erupted, they brought out patches of bright red blood and minced meat along the way. As a mental strength controller, Ye Yun's speed in killing these huge Blood-haired Mammoths was terrifying.

All 1,008,000 geniuses began their trial tower challenges at the same time. Observers outside could clearly check the score rankings of each contestant. It could be said that after this trial space competition began, it once again ignited the passion of the entire human universe's citizens.

The difficulty of each trial tower gradually increased. The difficulty of this first trial tower was such that ordinary Star-level Rank 9 powerhouses could generally pass it. Therefore, at the beginning, apart from a small number of people like Luo Feng with special plans, everyone else was going all out to clear the levels. Everyone's scores were rising very quickly, and the score rankings were constantly changing, making it impossible to stabilize in a fixed state.
