Taiping Inn

Chapter 149: The Two Kings of the East and the West

Since the Wudao Sect marched westward, the balance of the Western Regions has been broken, from the previous confrontation to a three-way melee. Although the Western Buddhists have thought of joining forces with the Golden Horde Shamanism to drive the Wudao Sect out of the Western Regions first, the Wudao Sect has Loulan City as a fulcrum, which can be used for attack or defense. Secondly, the Western Buddhists and Shamanism have been fighting overtly and covertly for many years, and the old hatred is deep. It is impossible to resolve it in a short time, and it is difficult to gain the trust of each other, so it has become a situation of mutual defense.

Before this, the situation was presided over by Zuo Zunzun, and the three parties were still evenly matched. However, with the arrival of Tan Taiyun from the Central Plains to the Western Regions, the situation immediately changed greatly.

After all, Tan Taiyun is a genuine immortal, and the Western Buddhists and the grassland Shamanism do not have immortals sitting in charge now.

However, Shamanism and the Golden Horde are interdependent, and there are four Yesen Nayans in the royal court, which cannot be underestimated, so Tan Taiyun decided to deal with the Western Region Buddhism first.

In fact, this can be regarded as a tacit understanding between Qin Qing and Tan Taiyun.

Since the second imperial capital change, the two have not directly intervened in the situation in the Central Plains, leaving it completely to Elder Long and Li Xuandu, and Elder Long and Li Xuandu set the battlefield in Qizhou.

Tan Taiyun focused on the westward advance, and the main enemy was the Western Region Buddhism. Qin Qing went to Liaozhou in person, determined to carry out a long-awaited northern expedition to clear the troops deployed by the Golden Horde in Liaodong, so that it would completely lose the strength to attack Liaodong in the next few years, instead of completely relying on the internal struggle of the Golden Horde to take care of Liaodong, so that there would be no worries about entering the pass in the future. From this aspect, Shamanism will be Qin Qing's enemy.

Shamanism should not be underestimated. The Buddhist sect in the Western Regions is also not a soft persimmon. It is not as strong as Liaodong, but it also has considerable foundation.

Take Liaodong as an example. Liaodong is known to have 200,000 armored soldiers, and is also known as 200,000 iron cavalry. In fact, of course, it is impossible that all of them are cavalry. The number of cavalry is about 100,000, among which light cavalry and mounted infantry are the main ones. Heavy cavalry with heavy armor only accounts for a small part, only about one-tenth, and the cost is huge.

The reason for this is that due to the rise of firearms, Qin Qing attached importance to firearms and equipped the Liaodong army with a large number of firearms, which gave rise to mounted infantry. Cavalry fights on horseback, using lances and sabers to charge, or using bows and crossbows to fight on horseback. The group charge of heavy cavalry is unstoppable. But mounted infantry does not use lances, but firearms. They ride horses only to move quickly. After arriving at the designated location, they will dismount and fight, which is no different from infantry, so they are called mounted infantry. Because this special cavalry first appeared in Chaoyang Prefecture, Youzhou, it was so strange that people nicknamed it "Dragon City Strange Soldiers". Later, it was mistakenly called "Dragon Cavalry", known as Liaodong Dragon Cavalry, and was Qin Qing's personal guard.

In addition, the infantry of Liaodong was also equipped with a large number of chariots and firearms. In the field, chariots such as side-carriage chariots and Wugang chariots were used to form a chariot formation, and then according to the distance of the enemy from their side, light artillery such as tiger squatting cannons, large muskets such as cup mouth guns and lifting guns were used in turn, and finally bird guns and cluster rockets were released. The proportion of Liaodong infantry firearms equipment has reached 60%. The cavalry troops excluding the mounted infantry are equipped with firearms such as three-eyed guns, which also account for 40%.

Finally, there are all kinds of heavy artillery. The heaviest artillery is 10,000 jin. Because of the land battle, there is no need to consider the load-bearing problem. Therefore, compared with the ship-borne artillery of the Qingweizong warship, the range and power are better, but it moves slowly and is only suitable for defending and attacking the city, not suitable for field battles. It is only under the premise of solid bullets that it is enough to shock people, but it is not enough to break the city with artillery. The fleet of the Qingweizong was able to shock the Bohai Prefecture because the defense of the Bohai Prefecture was empty and non-existent, not because artillery could really turn the tide. If you want to destroy the city wall with artillery, you have to wait until the Taipingzong completes the improvement of artillery and artillery shells so that the artillery shells can explode directly like "Phoenix Eyes". In fact, the craftsmen of the Taipingzong have made progress. The principle is not complicated, but the process is too complicated and cannot be cast on a large scale for the time being.

In this case, the 200,000 iron cavalry in Liaodong and the 200,000 iron cavalry in the Golden Horde are actually two completely different armies. They are called iron cavalry, but in fact they are infantry and cavalry coordination, not just coming and going like the wind.

The Buddhist sect in the Western Regions did not have the foundation and financial resources of Liaodong, but they had a large number of monks, about 50,000. Although these monks did not have firearms, they had believed in Buddha since childhood and had been determined for more than ten years. They were very tenacious. Many of them were good fighters and familiar with the terrain of the Western Regions. They fought against the Northwest Army of the Wudao Sect and did not lose the upper hand. They even made the Wudao Sect suffer some losses.

In this case, Tan Taiyun had to go down in person.

However, Tan Taiyun did not come out directly, but hid in the army until a suitable opportunity, and then suddenly appeared on the battlefield.

This battlefield is about a thousand miles away from Loulan City, and has entered the scope of the 36 countries in the Western Regions. It is not too far from the mountain gate of the Shingon Sect.

The two sides fought again for many days, and there were more injuries, and they fell into a stalemate.

This place is a throat point, and a Vajra Master is in charge. The so-called master, its status is similar to the Taoist real person, inferior to the Taoist saint.

This Vajra Master stood in front of the formation, with precious light flowing on his face. He was wearing a bright red monk's robe, with one arm exposed. His skin was glowing with a faint golden light, just like the golden Buddha statue in the Buddhist temple. In addition to the golden body of the immortals, Buddhism also has the method of golden body. The two have something in common. When the golden body is completed, it is like a mountain and the earth, unshakable and irreversible. After practicing to the extreme, it is not inferior to the physical body of a human immortal.

This monk was able to practice the golden body and had the power of a towering mountain. He is like a towering mountain, looking down on the sentient beings at the top of the mountain.

A bone rosary as big as a fist was hung on the monk's chest. Looking closely, each rosary was actually made of a human skull with a secret technique, but it seemed to shrink much smaller. The skull was filled with many rare materials, making each rosary. The rosary is shining brightly.

This is the unique human bone rosary of Zhenyan Sect. After the monks of Zhenyan Sect passed away, they performed a heavenly burial, and fed the corpse to the eagle to reach the state of compassion for the Buddha to cut his thighs and feed the eagle. The remaining bones are used as magic tools. Each of its bone beads is taken from the skull of an eminent monk. Therefore, the monk's rosary in front of him must wait for 108 monks with the level of cultivation above the level of Return to the Truth before they can practice it, which shows that it is rare.

He thought that the leader of the army was still Zuo Venerable of Wudao Sect, but this time he was wrong, especially after seeing the figure who had never been wearing armor, his heart suddenly felt cold, just like a cow and sheep seeing Go to the tiger and leopard.

Seeing the northwest army retreating like a tide, the Vajra Master's face became more and more serious, knowing that with him, he was definitely not a match for this person.

The way of practice and inheritance of the Buddhist lineage in the Western Regions has always been very different from that of Zen Buddhism. Even the Taoist sect after the convergence of Buddhism and Taoism is difficult to cover the various Buddhist sects in the Western Regions. The Zhenyan sect and Vajra sect in the Taoist sect can only be regarded as a branch of the Central Plains. The Central Plains have few forces, and in fact, the two rarely participate in the Central Plains battle on a large scale. The only exception is the Dazhen Mansion Incident, which was severely damaged by Li Xuandu.

Although the Buddhists in the Western Regions come from the Buddhist lineage, they have been introduced to the grassland and the Western Regions and merged with the shamanism. Shamanism is a branch variant of the ancient witch religion. After all these changes, the Buddhists in the Western Regions developed a unique means of initiation. To put it bluntly He inherits his own cultivation to his next generation disciples, his master passes on to his disciples, and his disciple passes on to his disciples, passing on from generation to generation, so that the Buddhists in the Western Regions can still stand firm when the Buddhists are in decline.

Although the person in front of him had cultivation levels that were close to the realm of heaven and man creation in Dan Taiyun's perception, most of them showed a free appearance, not as harmonious as the great master of the realm of heaven and man creation in heaven and man creation in heaven and man Leaking without flaws means reaching the current state by relying on external forces. I think this is the so-called inheritance.

This kind of practice method places all your cultivation in the physical body. It goes against the principle that the Central Plains Buddhism regards the flesh as a stinky skin and pursues transcendence of color and emptiness.

What is a physical body? It has the nose, eyes, mouth, and other five senses, hands, legs, round skull and square top, and a tangible and qualitative body of a person. It is called the physical body, which is the body of the wife and immortals who have been tempered by thousands of people.

To be fair, it is nothing wrong for humans and immortals to pursue their physical body in one path. However, as a branch of Buddhist Buddhism in the Western Regions, it is no wonder that Buddhists in the Central Plains regard it as a rebellious path, or even a side or a side.

In the Central Plains Buddhism, the seven orifices are holes, the limbs are wood joints, the skin and flesh are pus cells, and the five internal organs are lumps. Only by abandoning this physical body from the limit and finding another true body of invisible shape and imageless image can one extend the nature and the nature of enlightenment. Only by giving up the false can we seek truth.

If you are confused, take this physical body as the truth, consider the false as the truth, and regard the virtual as the reality. The six gates outside and the six consciousnesses inside and the six consciousnesses inside and outside, attacking the true essence.

All things in the world, all physical things are detrimental. If you love this physical body, it is false, and you will never lose the truth of your life. Once the deadline comes, who am I and who is the body, the body has nothing to do with me.

In other words, if you cannot seek immortality, your body is a stinky skin, a piece of clothing that can be abandoned. Therefore, the Central Plains Buddhism despises the body, and the Taoist gods and ghost immortals also despises the body, and abandons the body. The former uses incense and vows. It is cast into a golden body of Shinto, and the latter leaves his body with soul and soul, as if he has taken off his clothes. Even the earth immortals and the celestial immortals must be reborn. Getting rid of the mortal body is equivalent to changing into a piece of clothing.

Only the Taoist immortals do not "take off their clothes" or "change clothes" in one path. Instead, they use their bodies to break through the boundaries of heaven and man, use their bodies as boats, cross the sea of suffering, reach the other shore, and achieve immortality.

From this point of view, the Buddhists in the Western Regions cannot be miscalculated.

However, when it comes to Dan Taiyun, some people show off their skills. After all, Dan Taiyun is a real immortal, and he is already a immortal.
