The Admiral of Hogwarts
#159 - Signature and Restaurant
The Ravenclaw students in the common room waiting for Hugo and the others mainly wanted to ask them one thing: why Venetto had written such a purely flattering poem during the Defense Against the Dark Arts class.
And after Venetto displayed 'Transfiguration and Combat,' a book that should have been in the Restricted Section, everyone present immediately realized the reason she had done so.
Soon, rumors began circulating among the Ravenclaws that as long as you flattered Lockhart well, you could obtain Restricted Section permits from him.
Considering that a swarm of people asking Lockhart for signatures would easily alert him or other professors to the situation and cut off this avenue, the Ravenclaws quickly formed several small groups and began to cooperate, controlling the number of permits they sought from Lockhart each week to two.
According to some Ravenclaw upperclassmen, this approach probably wouldn't fool Professor Dumbledore. But if they could manage the degree of it, the headmaster would very likely turn a blind eye to their actions.
After all, the Ravenclaws sneaking into the Restricted Section of the library at night could be considered a traditional custom of Ravenclaw. It would be an underestimation of the greatest white wizard to say that Professor Dumbledore was completely unaware. It's just that Dumbledore hadn't stopped this private activity.
"Why did we have to tell everyone this information?" Venetto asked, somewhat puzzled, during some free time practicing with Enterprise.
"This makes it much harder for us to borrow books. And to avoid public anger, we have to control the frequency with which we obtain Restricted Section books as much as possible."
"What you said is indeed correct." Hugo, watching Hermione being pulled to the other side of the room for separate instruction by Enterprise, approached Venetto and whispered.
"But you know, borrowing books through this channel is fine once or twice. But if it happens too often, I'm worried it might arouse the headmaster's suspicion."
"Ah, I understand." After being reminded by Hugo, Venetto immediately realized what Hugo was trying to do.
"That way, we'll be seen as having discovered this loophole unintentionally, rather than deliberately trying to exploit it for some purpose."
"That's right, it's the same principle as hiding a drop of water by concealing it in the ocean," Hugo nodded. "By the way, I think I heard in the Admiral Network yesterday that Tennessee and California are coming to England recently. Do they have something to do?"
"Oh, mainly because they have basically built an organizational framework in the United States during this time, and have recruited a lot of manpower, so they don't need so many ship girls to stay there temporarily."
Venetto whispered to Hugo. "So they sent out the mobile forces they could spare to facilitate everyone's expansion in England."
"You know, because Grindelwald ravaged the whole of Europe back then but was blocked by Dumbledore outside of England, the British wizarding world didn't suffer the same tragic losses as other European countries. As a result, the British wizarding world has naturally become the place with the most serious bloodline solidification."
"This is not good news for us, because it means that for wizards like us with non-pure-blood backgrounds, the space for development is much smaller than normal if we want to make a career."
"Is the situation in the British wizarding world that serious?" Hugo asked, puzzled.
Although he realized when reading books in his previous life that the situation in the British wizarding world was likely to be much worse than described in the novels, Hugo now felt that the real situation here might be even worse than he imagined after listening to Venetto.
"Very serious, even beyond everyone's imagination," Venetto said seriously, looking at Hugo. "According to our recent estimates, those pure-blood families account for about 70% of the economic share of the entire British wizarding world."
"In addition, they also monopolize the production of a series of crucial items in the wizarding world."
"To give a simple example, Unyielding originally wanted to choose Hogsmeade as the location for her shop. But because the relationship between this town and the pure-blood families was a bit too close, she had to open her shop in the more open Diagon Alley after encountering many overt and covert obstacles."
"I roughly understand what's going on." After Venetto briefly introduced the situation in the British wizarding world, Hugo nodded very seriously.
"And I think your choice is also correct. It's right to avoid the limelight of those pure-blood families before we can successfully gain a foothold."
"But we can't just compromise like this forever," Venetto said. As ship girls, the blood of warriors flows in their bones.
"So after we successfully gained a foothold in Diagon Alley, we once again extended our power towards Hogsmeade and achieved some results."
"Achieved some results?" Hugo asked curiously, "Didn't you say that this place was very repulsive to you before? So how did you solve that kind of repulsion now?"
"The people here still reject us," Venetto said. "But the power we have developed in a year does not allow those guys to completely exclude us from this circle like before."
"So after those guys tried many times without success, they could only acquiesce to our existence. Although we still can't buy ready-made houses here, they will also ignore us building our own rooms as shops on the open space around the town."
As she spoke, Venetto sent the location of the shop to Hugo through the Admiral Network. After a brief look, Hugo discovered that because Hogsmeade was now full of various houses, there was no open space left, so they simply built the shop on the outskirts of the town.
"Neighbors with the Hog's Head Pub?" Hugo asked through the Admiral Network. "You should know Aberforth's specific situation, right?"
"Of course, of course we know," Venetto said. "But there are too few places in Hogsmeade where houses can be built, so we only found that place to be relatively empty after choosing and choosing."
"Or rather, only choosing to set up camp in that place can avoid being noticed by others," Retribution's voice also interjected into Hugo's and their discussion.
"After all, besides us, basically no one knows that the owner of the Hog's Head Pub is Dumbledore's brother and the founder of the Order of the Phoenix. In this case, actively avoiding him would make us seem guilty."
"That makes a lot of sense." Hugo thought for a while and said, he felt that Retribution's choice in this regard could be said to be completely correct. His previous approach was really too much influenced by the original text.
"By the way, what kind of business are you going to run here?"
"A restaurant," Retribution said, making a choice that was beyond Hugo's expectations. "According to the plan, I will open a restaurant here with Unicorn and two other locally recruited indigenous employees, selling dishes and snacks from various countries."
