The Admiral of Hogwarts

#21 - 9 3/4 station.

Unfortunately, after further study, Hugo realized that his previous ideas were a bit too idealistic. Although his body would be strengthened each time he summoned a ship girl, and exchanging portraits would further enhance his entire being,

this strengthening was insignificant compared to the many ship girl souls connected to the admiral network. Therefore, before Hugo could use fate points to exchange for powerful portraits and completely improve his level, he couldn't spend more than an hour a day in this soul connection state learning.

If he exceeded an hour, Hugo, whose soul was insufficient, would immediately enter a downgraded communication network state within the admiral network. In this situation, Hugo could only communicate with the ship girls through text and nothing else. This state could only be解除 by sleeping well for at least four hours.

However, for Hugo, although this learning method had many limitations, the benefits it brought were absolutely powerful. At least he could feel an unprecedented clarity in his brain in this soul-connected state, allowing him to learn magic with very high efficiency.

So, in the time before school started, Hugo mastered more than 60 spells from the first-year textbooks, averaging one spell a day. At the same time, all the ship girls connected to this network also mastered these spells. All of this was achieved entirely through the cheat-like ability of the admiral network.

"It seems I can pretend to be a genius after entering school." Hugo was quite satisfied with his learning results during the vacation. However, he was a bit unhappy that the so-called skill exchange for ship girls was limited to wizard currency. Currently, his six Galleons and twelve Sickles weren't even enough to exchange for one skill, because the cheapest skill required ten Galleons.

After a vacation of frantic learning, September 1st, the day to go to school, finally arrived. That morning, after finishing breakfast, the Granger couple threw the luggage they had packed earlier into the trunk of their RV, and then drove towards central London.

Because they left early, they weren't unlucky enough to encounter the common traffic jams in London. Therefore, at 10:00 AM, the family of four arrived smoothly at King's Cross Station.

"You must take care of yourselves after you get to school, especially the two of you, try to take care of each other—" After entering the station hall, Mrs. Granger nagged to Hugo and Hermione.

"As for your learning ability, I don't need to worry too much."

"Mom, don't worry, we can definitely take care of ourselves." Hugo said somewhat helplessly, and Hermione nodded vigorously beside him. They both knew that their mother meant well, but the problem was that Mrs. Granger had been nagging since breakfast today, making both of them feel like they couldn't take it anymore.

Professor McGonagall wasn't someone as careless as Hagrid, so when she gave the tickets to Hugo and Hermione, she told the Granger family the location of Platform 9 3/4. Therefore, Hugo and Hermione didn't spend too much effort searching for this platform.

"To be able to set up a platform in this place is truly amazing!" When they arrived at Platform 9 3/4, Mr. Granger touched the wall that separated the magical world from the ordinary world. He knew that the platform was inside, and wizards could pass through this wall. But in his perception, this was just an ordinary wall.

Perhaps because they arrived relatively early, Hugo and Hermione didn't encounter any wizards sending their children to school. Mr. Granger therefore studied the wall carefully for a while, and when he felt that he had studied it enough, he returned to Hugo and Hermione and said to them: "Okay, you go ahead, remember to write us a letter every week after you get to school."

"Don't worry, we will write." Hugo and Hermione said in unison, and then waved goodbye to their parents before pushing their trolleys towards the wall.

As the trolley approached the wall, Hugo subconsciously closed his eyes. Even though he knew there was no danger at all, he couldn't help but feel a little instinctively scared when he saw a red brick wall rapidly approaching as if it would hit his face in a second or two.

Because everything was operating normally on Platform 9 3/4 today, Hugo successfully passed through the wall separating the magical world from the ordinary world. After opening his eyes, a scarlet steam engine was parked beside a platform crowded with passengers. The sign on the train read: Hogwarts Express, eleven o'clock.

Hugo stopped and looked back, finding that the wall he had just passed through had now become a wrought-iron archway, with a sign above it that read: Platform 9 3/4.

"How amazing!" Hermione beside him exclaimed. Because only a wall separated two seemingly completely different worlds. The place they came from was a standard modern train station from the late 20th century, but what appeared in front of them now was an old train station full of Victorian style.

The thick smoke from the steam engine swirled above the chattering crowd, and cats of various colors darted back and forth under people's feet. Amidst the buzzing voices of the crowd and the noisy sounds of dragging heavy luggage, owls hooted shrilly, echoing each other.

"Why don't they renovate these places?" Hermione looked at the platform, which was much darker than the outside, and turned to Hugo and said, "It feels too old here."

"Maybe wizards are more accustomed to some classical styles of decoration." Hugo shrugged and said, "Think about the wizarding shopping street we saw before and the wizard robes we bought, which look like the style of Shakespeare's era, so I think this kind of train station style is probably relatively trendy for wizards."

"It's also possible that wizards never update things when they use ordinary people's stuff, but choose to keep them the way they were when they got them." Hermione said, "Because I saw a spell in the textbook that can be used to repair various items, so those things are basically unbreakable for wizards."

While complaining about the wizards' conservatism, Hugo and Hermione pushed their carts towards the red train. Because they arrived relatively early, they didn't encounter the Weasley family or Neville and his grandmother. Unfortunately, these shouldn't be important in the original plot, so Hugo didn't get any fate points.

The first few carriages weren't very crowded yet, and the first prefect's carriage was completely empty. Some of the students in the carriages leaned out of the windows to talk to their families, while others were playing around in their seats. On the platform stood a group of wizarding parents seeing off their children.

Because his body had been strengthened by that famous non-chief portrait, possessing the physique equivalent to a trained ordinary adult, Hugo easily carried the two people's luggage from the platform to the carriage, and then was very lucky to find an empty compartment near the front of the train to settle down.
