The Admiral of Hogwarts
#41 - Encounter and preparation
That evening, after listening to Victoria's analysis, Hugo realized that he might need to further approach Harry Potter. After all, the story is called "Harry Potter," so if he wants to participate in the main plot as much as possible and twist the events within, the only way is to find a way to get close to the original protagonist of the story.
And Hugo didn't have to wait long for this opportunity. The day after encountering the three-headed dog, after dinner, Hugo and his friends went to the library to read and do homework as usual. Just as Veneto finished her homework at top speed and ran to the bookshelf to get a book, she accidentally bumped into Harry and Ron.
She saw Harry and Ron standing in the aisle in the middle of the bookshelf, walking and looking around. It seemed they weren't there to study, but to find something. Soon, Harry saw Veneto holding two or three books in her arms, and then directly led Ron to Veneto.
"Is there anything you need from me?" Looking at the two boys standing in front of her, Veneto asked as a normal girl should at this time. "You two look a little familiar."
"I'm Harry, Harry Potter. This is my friend Ron Weasley," the black-haired, rather thin Harry introduced himself, but before he could say anything more, Hugo walked over from the other end of the aisle.
"Veneto, have you got your books yet? I waited for so long and didn't see you. I thought something had happened to you." Hugo said as he walked towards Veneto, then saw Harry and Ron. "Ron, Harry, what are you doing here?"
"You know us?" Ron asked curiously. After all, most people call out Harry's name first when they see them, so Hugo's approach was rare.
"Of course!" Hugo nodded and looked at Ron. "I've been talking to your twin brothers a lot recently, so I heard about you from them. As for Harry, he just showed the lightning-shaped scar on his forehead."
"What did Fred and George say about me? Did they say anything bad?" After hearing Hugo's words, Ron immediately asked, even temporarily putting aside the purpose of his and Harry's visit.
"They just said they have a younger brother." Hugo shrugged. Of course, besides simply introducing Ron, the Weasley twins also complained a lot about their younger brother, but it was definitely not appropriate to say it at this time. Then Hugo held out a hand and introduced himself, "I'm Hugo Granger. This is my companion, Vittorio Veneto."
"Nice to meet you, and thank you very much for your help last night," Harry said at this time, shaking Hugo's outstretched hand, then leaned closer and said. "If it weren't for your help, Filch would have caught us, and we might have been expelled directly."
"It's nothing, after all, we were saving ourselves at that time." Hugo said with a smile. "Helping you was just a matter of convenience, you don't have to keep it in mind."
Then the four of them chatted quietly for a few minutes, but Mrs. Pince's approaching footsteps interrupted their conversation. In this situation, the two sides could only say goodbye in a hurry and arrange to chat again next time.
"The first step of the plan has been successfully achieved." After watching Harry and Ron turn around and leave, Veneto said to Hugo through the admiral's network, "Next, it depends on what we should do."
Meeting Harry was an unexpected thing for Hugo. He really didn't expect Harry to come and thank him for what happened last night. But thinking about it, it makes sense. With Harry's kind personality, it would be surprising if he didn't express anything after receiving help.
Today's unexpected meeting is indeed a good start for Hugo. But he knows that no matter what, since he has decided to approach Harry, he must pay with sincerity. After all, Harry is a sentimental person, and if he finds out that Hugo is approaching him with ulterior motives, there will be big trouble later.
Not to mention that purely from the perspective of character, both Harry and Ron are the kind of good people who can treat their friends sincerely. If you want to choose friends, they are both good options.
As for the point that many fanfics in his previous life felt that Harry and Ron were a bit of a drag, Hugo didn't dare to agree. Although these two people are the kind of people who are more impulsive and sometimes stubborn, and therefore create a lot of trouble. But as friends, they are far more reliable than those gloomy guys who don't know how many things they are hiding in their hearts.
"By the way, why are you reading this kind of trash book?" After thinking about these things, Hugo curiously looked at the books Veneto was holding in her arms. Because he unexpectedly found that one of the books Veneto was holding had a cover printed with a Lockhart portrait striking a pose.
"Ah, are you talking about this one?" Veneto looked at the portrait of the middle-aged man with an exaggerated look on the cover of the first book, then raised her head and replied. "This book is at least more realistic in its description of details, although it is a plagiarized book, the knowledge introduced inside is real."
"That's true." Hugo nodded and returned to the table with Veneto, then picked up the pile of books she had repeatedly retrieved before and began to check the contents of the books.
These books were all related to trolls, including books like "Various Dangerous Magical Creatures in European Life" that mentioned trolls. There were also books like "Training a Troll Bodyguard" that simply talked about trolls.
"You should know what the next plot is." After glancing at Hermione, who was studying at the other side of the table, Veneto's voice sounded in Hugo's mind through the admiral's network. "For the sake of fate points, we should participate in this matter, especially after Victoria-nee gave that guess before, I think we can use this matter to verify it."
"What you said makes sense." Hugo replied through the same channel, "But with your level, it shouldn't be a problem to directly kill a troll, right? Do you still need to read these books?"
"Actually, if I go all out, it only takes one punch to kill a troll." Veneto said quite proudly. As a ship girl, her punch is equivalent to the kinetic energy of the ship's full-speed collision, so killing a troll is not difficult. But the real problem is not here. "But if you want to defeat a troll at the level of a first-year student, you need to prepare well."
"You're right." Hearing Veneto say this, Hugo also realized the loopholes in his previous thoughts. "We should make a good plan in advance."
