The Admiral of Hogwarts
#66 - St. George
During Christmas, Hugo and his friends received many gifts and, naturally, gave out quite a few Christmas presents as well. Considering their identities and their relationships with everyone, they gave everyone sugar-free assorted cookie gift boxes. At least, judging from the letters of many classmates who received the gifts, they were quite interested in this peculiar Muggle snack.
Of course, for Hugo and his friends, today's Christmas dinner was also a very good Christmas gift. Although it couldn't compare to the lavishness of Hogwarts Christmas dinners in his memory, the love of his parents and the warmth of his family were definitely something that couldn't be found anywhere else.
Time passed for nearly a week in such a festive atmosphere, and just as the New Year's bells rang, Hugo received two Fate Points. After briefly chatting with Hood, Hugo quickly decided on the identity of the next ship girl.
On the first day of the New Year, the Granger couple happened to receive an invitation to attend the New Year's reception at the Chinese Embassy in London as friendly guests. Hood took this opportunity to invite Hugo and his sister to take a trip to Windsor Castle with her family.
"Belfast feels that visiting an old castle at this time can give her more writing inspiration." This was the reason Hood gave to the Granger couple. "After all, she's writing a novel about vampires, and you should know that castles and vampires are always linked together."
Although this reason sounded a bit far-fetched, for most people, it's very normal for a well-known bestselling author to have some differences from ordinary people, not to mention that taking inspiration is almost a compulsory course for authors. Every author's method is different, and something like visiting a castle to write a vampire novel can already be considered the most normal kind of thing.
The Granger couple simply thought about it and agreed to Hugo and his sister's outing plan for today. After all, they had spent a long time with Hood and her family during the holidays before, not to mention that this trip also included Belfast, the most famous bestselling author right now.
Truthfully, the security situation in the UK isn't very good. If Hood were a man, the Granger couple would definitely hesitate. But as it was now, with two young women taking two children, one of whom was a celebrity, the Granger couple were relatively relieved.
After driving west for more than thirty kilometers to Windsor Castle, Hugo and the others began to visit. As the current residence of the British royal family, this castle has many things to see. For example, the Round Tower built in the 12th century, and the legendary Round Table used by King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table.
After they followed the road to the Lower Ward, Belfast took Hermione and the others to visit Windsor Great Park. Hood and Hugo, on the other hand, made an excuse to leave the group and went straight to St. George's Chapel.
"Are we summoning St. George now?" After the previous summons, Hugo had figured out some of the rules of summoning. So, after looking at the local place name, he immediately reacted.
"Of course." Seeing that there was no one around, Victory appeared on Hugo's shoulder and said in his ear. "Because this is one of the important symbolic locations in England, and it also has one of the most famous churches in the country named after St. George. So, naturally, there will be a medium point for summoning ship girls."
After Hugo arrived at the side of the church, he found that the church seemed to be closed to the public because it was the New Year holiday. But this was good news for them.
After confirming that there were not many patrolmen inside the church, Hugo found an unmanned corner without surveillance and transformed back into a non-European. Then, he and Hood squeezed through a window located two stories high, and then ran all the way into the bell tower along a road without surveillance.
Because in Hugo's eyes, the entire building was within the range of the medium. Considering the light emitted during the ship girl summoning, a secluded and enclosed space like the bell tower was a very ideal summoning location. After Hood took out a large pile of wooden boards and steel plates from the ship equipment space and blocked the windows and doors from the inside, Hugo began to prepare for the summoning.
"By the way, why are there so many wooden boards and steel plates prepared in your ship equipment space?" Hugo asked curiously during the final site inspection before the summoning.
"Actually, every ship girl's construction space has a lot of this kind of thing." Hood reached out and checked the steel-wood mixed structure board blocking the window and said. "This is actually the material that warships must have for emergency repairs, used to block the holes that appear in the hull."
Speaking of this, Hood sighed. Hugo naturally knew the reason for Hood's sigh. After all, as the glory of the Royal Navy back then, she had made all the preparations in that famous battle, including damage control. But she didn't expect to be directly hit by the Bismarck's shell, detonating the ammunition magazine, without even a chance to rescue her.
Hugo naturally knew that it was best for him to say nothing at this time, so he began his summoning work. The summoning process went very smoothly. After a burst of golden light flashed, an extremely gorgeous ship girl appeared in front of Hugo.
The reason for using the word extremely gorgeous to describe her is because St. George was completely different from other ship girls when she appeared. Because ship girls don't deploy their ship equipment when they are summoned, the appearance of other ship girls is just some girls wearing their respective characteristic costumes.
St. George, on the other hand, was wearing an extremely gorgeous dress, with a sword hanging from her waist. At the same time, at the moment of being summoned, Hugo saw the phantoms of horses and fire dragons surrounding her. Forming an extraordinarily sacred atmosphere around her.
"I am St. George, the patron saint of England. Having heard Your Excellency's inner request, how could I stand idly by? Commander, from today onwards, everything of mine will be with you, and with this land under my feet." After the light dissipated, the tall ship girl bowed slightly to Hugo and then introduced herself.
"Welcome, welcome to your arrival." As soon as she finished speaking, Hugo spread his hands and made a welcoming gesture, saying, "But this is not the place to talk. We can talk about anything outside. You can first learn about our current situation from the Admiral Network."
After saying that, the three of them worked together to dismantle the things that had just been installed to block the light. Then, they climbed out of the window of the church bell tower. Fortunately, Hermione and the others were visiting Windsor Great Park with Belfast at this time, so they had some time to communicate.
After walking out for a distance, they came to a pavilion and sat down. Then, they prepared to start discussing the arrangements for St. George's next actions. But at this moment, Victory, who had been staying in Hugo's pocket, flashed to his shoulder and said. "Congratulations, you have now summoned ten ship girls. The system will undergo its first upgrade, which will take 24 hours."
