The Admiral of Hogwarts
#69 - After school starts
Although Hugo had told Harry and Ron about his suspicions of Quirrell before, compared to Quirrell, who stuttered all day, looked timid and unbelievably brainless, Snape, who was gloomy all day and opposed the Gryffindor students, seemed more like a villain in the eyes of Harry and his friends.
Hugo was too lazy to emphasize to them again that Snape was not a bad person, after all, as an outsider, no matter how he said it, he would definitely not be able to reverse their thinking. Besides, Snape's attitude towards Gryffindor students, especially Harry, was indeed a bit bad, and there was nothing wrong with Harry thinking that way.
Moreover, he was now in a state of excitement, because this time he had obtained 0.5 destiny points with just a simple conversation of more than ten seconds, so he didn't have much energy to care about other people's affairs. Fortunately, the two sides had completed the exchange at this time, so soon Hugo and the others bid farewell to Harry and Ron and returned to the Ravenclaw Tower.
In the next period of time, Hugo returned to his regular life. The only difference from before was that Hermione joined him for morning exercise and weekly sparring.
In the beginning, Hermione was a little worried that these things would waste time, and even took out a textbook to read during breaks in the exercise. But later she realized that after exercising for a period of time, her body was much better than before, and then it improved her learning efficiency.
Perhaps because the second half of the academic year had final exams, and the freshmen had become accustomed to the school after being in school for a few months, the professors accelerated the pace of their lectures and increased the amount of homework assigned. Fortunately, these did not cause Hugo much trouble, even when facing Professor Snape, who was obviously more demanding than usual, he was able to complete the assigned coursework relatively perfectly.
For most of the students in the school, in addition to academics, what attracted everyone's attention was the Quidditch match. Because the first game after Christmas was Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff, Hugo often saw the exhausted, and sometimes wet, members of the two teams in the corridor after it was completely dark.
One day, when Hugo and the others were returning to the common room, they suddenly saw that the Ravenclaw common room, where they usually read books, seemed to have someone talking over there today, and then a group of people around them showed unbelievable expressions.
Out of curiosity, Hugo squeezed into the crowd and found his roommate Michael Corner and asked what exactly had happened here. As a result, he learned that Professor Snape would be the referee in the next game.
"Damn it." Roger Davies, the Ravenclaw Chaser in the middle of the crowd, found this news unbelievable. "After the Gryffindor vs. Hufflepuff game, it will be us against Slytherin. Thinking about Snape's usual biased attitude, we probably won't win this game."
The young eagles in the audience were excited, but Hugo seemed very calm. Because he knew that Snape's only reason for being a referee in the game was to protect Harry, so Madam Hooch should still be the referee in the Ravenclaw game.
Although they didn't know this, the Ravenclaw students didn't seem too frustrated. After all, Ravenclaw was not Gryffindor, so Snape would naturally save some face when facing the young eagles. In their opinion, as long as they didn't foul, Snape shouldn't be too embarrassed to favor Slytherin too much.
But this news was definitely terrible for Gryffindor. When Hugo was doing research with the Weasley twins on the weekend, the twins specifically complained about this issue. According to them, Captain Wood's face was even darker than Lee Jordan's after hearing this news.
"To be honest, we can only do our best in this game." After discussing Snape's coming to be the referee, George finally concluded, "But in my opinion, unless Harry can catch the Golden Snitch after the start of the game, otherwise we can only lose a little less."
As the time approached the game, the atmosphere in the school became more and more fiery. At least Hugo saw several fights between the houses. It must be said that the wizards' fights were much better than those of the high school students outside. For example, the scene of making an opponent tap dance through the corridor and having green onions popping out of their ears would definitely not be seen in ordinary middle schools.
However, these did not have much impact on Hugo himself, and he was still studying various knowledge in an orderly manner. And in this kind of learning, he unexpectedly discovered that he did get a comprehensive strengthening in the last system upgrade, at least the efficiency in learning magic was obviously higher than before.
Therefore, during this period of time, he began to indulge in learning. He spent a lot of time in the library almost every day. One day, after he finished reading, he was planning to go back to the common room to practice Transfiguration for a while when he heard a somewhat shrill boy's voice at the door.
"You're more cowardly than a mouse, how did you get into Gryffindor? I'd say you don't even deserve to take the Hogwarts Express into this castle—"
After hearing these voices, Hugo immediately took a few steps and left the library, then followed the source of the sound and turned a corner to a corridor, and saw Neville Longbottom at the entrance of the corridor, his legs seemed to be glued together, lying on the ground, while Malfoy stood there arrogantly with his two cronies.
"Malfoy, what are you doing?" Thinking of the destiny points, and coupled with the fact that he couldn't stand this kind of campus bullying behavior, he ran towards Neville while drawing out his wand and loudly shouted at Malfoy and his cronies warily.
"Heh, why should you point fingers at me?" Seeing someone running out to stand up for him, Malfoy immediately turned his head and sized Hugo up and down, then said arrogantly. "I remember you seem to be a mud—"
However, before he could finish his words, a girl popped out of the corridor. It turned out that after Neville discovered that Hugo had left, he said goodbye to Hermione and left the library, and just happened to follow over and saw this scene.
"Ha, it seems like there's a good show to watch here now." Violetta said, tapping her book with her wand and turning the book into a stick, then looking at Malfoy and his cronies. "I really want to know what that word you were about to say was."
Seeing Violetta's rather recognizable silver-white short hair, Malfoy immediately realized that the little girl in front of him was a freak who could smash wooden sticks and giant's kneecaps at the same time. So he immediately admitted defeat at this time, and then left with his two subordinates dejectedly.
"Finite Incantatem." After confirming that it was safe, Hugo pointed his wand at Neville's legs and recited. Neville's legs separated at once. He stood up, trembling all over. It took several minutes to recover.
"Thank you so much this time." After recovering, Neville immediately bowed to Hugo and Violetta and thanked them.
"It's okay, this is what I should do." Hugo said, patting the boy on the shoulder like an older brother, "But I think we should report this situation to the professors. Malfoy's behavior of bullying people in the school is definitely wrong."
