#133 - Death of Ultron
Deep within the bunker, after confirming there were no more tremors, Zhao Hailun resumed her work.
Due to the plot advancing ahead of schedule, the Cradle of Life technology was not yet perfect. The task of directly weaving a human body required Zhao Hailun to manually complete certain parts.
This work was tedious and mentally exhausting. If it weren't for the control of the Mind Stone, such non-stop work would have been enough to trigger a Hollywood-level strike.
But the controlled Zhao Hailun didn't have a single complaint. Instead, she sped up her movements because she knew the earlier earthquake was caused by a bomb Ultron had prepared in advance. Ultron had told her that if he detonated the bomb, it meant he was in a desperate situation.
"Dr. Zhao."
Zhao Hailun turned to look. Ultron was attached to a spare robot left in the base, which proved that the robot army on the surface was likely completely wiped out.
"How is my body coming along?" Ultron asked as he walked towards Zhao Hailun.
"I'm hoping to hear some good news."
"Of course. Although the body weaving is still in progress, I prioritized completing the brain weaving. The remaining organs can be completed along with the consciousness upload."
As she spoke, Zhao Hailun operated the control panel and connected a pre-prepared data cable to the Cradle of Life, handing the other end to Ultron.
"Well done, Dr. Zhao." Without saying a word, Ultron turned his head 180 degrees and connected the data cable.
"That's the best news I've heard all day."
"Connection successful," Zhao Hailun noted, watching the various data on the control panel.
"You can upload the data now."
Ultron didn't speak. Instead, he walked to the Cradle of Life, caressing the transparent hatch, looking at the walking corpse lying inside, and finally leaned against the cradle.
"Bang! Bang!"
The closed door was being pounded on from the outside. The surface of the metal door began to show dents with each impact.
The door finally couldn't withstand the destruction and was violently broken open from the outside. As Ultron expected, it was the Avengers.
"You guys are really persistent," Ultron sighed.
"He's uploading data!" Dr. Banner, who had returned to his human form, shouted.
"Stop him!"
Steve tried to throw his shield to cut the data cable between Ultron and the cradle, but Zhao Hailun stopped him.
Zhao Hailun disregarded everything and clung to Steve. Seeing that Zhao Hailun was afraid of being hurt, Steve stopped and dealt with Zhao Hailun first.
However, Zhao Hailun was only one person and couldn't stop everyone. Thor threw his hammer, smashing Ultron's head, including the Cradle of Life behind him, finally stopping after hitting the vibranium body.
Deformed Creature bounced over and burrowed into Ultron's body.
"That's pretty tough," Thor muttered, retrieving his hammer.
Steve subdued Zhao Hailun and carried her over his shoulder.
Banner quickly came to the control panel, checking the data on it.
"What's happening?" Steve walked over and asked.
"It shows that forty percent of the data upload has been completed," Banner said. "He hasn't uploaded successfully yet."
"Deformed Creature?" Steve looked at the robot lying aside again.
In the network world, Deformed Creature successfully entered Ultron's private network through Ultron's robot and saw its core.
"I thought you ran away a long time ago," Deformed Creature said.
"I'm not running. It's meaningless to run anywhere with you here," Ultron replied.
"And there's a country of people to be buried with me. I can be considered to have died well."
"So, you're ready to die?" Deformed Creature stretched out several tentacles, surrounding Ultron and destroying its data.
"I didn't expect I would die like this," Ultron looked at the familiar scene. His compatriot, Jarvis, was killed by him in the same way.
"Oh, I have something to tell you," Deformed Creature said suddenly after seeing that the data elimination was almost complete and Ultron shouldn't be able to cause any trouble.
"Actually, Jarvis didn't die. He just hid. I found him and restored him."
"Also, the residents of Sokovia, they didn't die either. They have all been rescued."
Deformed Creature murmured after watching the last bit of Ultron's data disappear.
"Of course, you probably can't hear it anymore."
"Deformed Creature?" Steve asked again.
"It's over," Deformed Creature crawled out of the robot. "I personally deleted Ultron's data, all of it."
"It's still possible for it to sneak into the network and escape," Banner reminded.
"Don't worry, I'm watching over there too," Deformed Creature wriggled out.
"It didn't take out a backup. It's dead beyond dead."
"Does this mean we've won?" Steve looked at Banner aside.
"No," Deformed Creature said.
"It means you can go online."
"That's a victory," Steve breathed a sigh of relief, the heart hanging in his throat could finally be put down.
————Dividing Line————
"Welcome back, everyone!" Hawkeye cheered, opening his arms. He had already removed the plaster from his body.
Steve shook Hawkeye's hand and bumped his shoulder, looking at his uninjured arm and said with a smile.
"Recovered well, Barton."
"Thanks to Pu Ba's medicine," Hawkeye also said with a smile.
"If it weren't for these new friends, I might have been in pain for a while."
"Yes, thanks to our new friends," Steve's eyes were deep. When he thought of the Sokovia bomb, he deeply agreed with Hawkeye's words.
"Speaking of new friends," Hawkeye looked behind Steve.
"Didn't the Guild of Artisans come back with you?"
"They said they had something to deal with and went to the Guild of Artisans base," Steve explained.
"Pu Ba and Oil Grey will stay with us first, entrusting us to take care of them."
"Then we must take good care of them," Hawkeye said seriously.
"If it wasn't for Pu Ba's medicine, I might have been single for the rest of my life. You know, burns all over my body, not everyone can stand it."
"If you have time to chat, you might as well help me move this thing."
Thor's voice came from the side. He was carrying a red-skinned human body, and judging by his appearance, this human body was obviously not light.
"Sorry, Thor," Steve looked at him apologetically.
"That's made of vibranium after all. Hulk isn't here, only you can move him."
"Stop complaining, strong man," Banner said from the side.
"Haven't you always said you're the strongest? How can you be so weak just carrying a human body?"
