#142 - Disruptor
Thanks to Swampfire showing his skills in public, W'Kabi looked grave as he left, clearly contemplating countermeasures after witnessing Swampfire's heaven-defying regenerative abilities.
Unlike W'Kabi, the Avengers were relieved. After all, it was their first time seeing Swampfire, and they weren't very clear about his strength.
Seeing his abilities, they could finally relax, knowing that at least survival wasn't an issue.
Thus, the meeting concluded after confirming the time and location of the duel. T'Chaka sent people to take Yang Le and his group to a reception area in Wakanda, which was luxuriously furnished, showcasing Wakanda's national power.
There was no need to assign rooms; there was no one else in the reception area except for the service staff, since Wakanda didn't interact with the outside world, and thus had no one to receive.
This reception area was built because T'Chaka intended to engage more with the outside world, but the establishment of diplomatic relations stalled due to constant domestic opposition, and it was shelved. Yang Le and his group became the first customers.
And so, uneventful, Yang Le and the others welcomed the next day's sun in the luxurious reception area.
Early in the morning, attendants served them, something they couldn't experience in modern America. The group enjoyed the old society's陋习 (lòu xí - bad habits), except for the two from the Skywork Association.
One was a robot, and the other was a vegetable, unable to enjoy the various services prepared for humans. They could only watch the Avengers enjoy themselves. Of course, Vision couldn't enjoy them either, but the abstemious Vision didn't care.
This was terrible for Yang Le. If he had known, he would have transformed into a normal creature. Now, he could only watch with envy.
And so, the two members of the Skywork Association, filled with resentment, and the Avengers, who had enjoyed the bad habits, were led by attendants and traveled by car to the grasslands outside the city.
When they arrived, they found that many people had already gathered, apparently curious about the duel with the alien.
The already lively crowd reached its peak when the two strange-looking, non-human members of the Skywork Association got out of the car, clearly sparking conversation among the crowd.
"Welcome, my father is indisposed, so he sent me to greet everyone," T'Challa said as he walked out of the crowd. As a prince, he came to greet everyone in person.
"Sorry, warriors' duels always attract many people," T'Challa said apologetically.
"If you don't want to be disturbed, I can disperse them."
"It's okay, I don't mind," Swampfire said, generously agreeing to the request to watch the battle.
"Without an audience, how can it be called a duel?"
"Thank you for your generosity," T'Challa said with a smile, then turned and raised his voice.
"Everyone! Make way for the warriors!"
The Prince of Wakanda still had a lot of prestige, and the people consciously separated, making way.
"This way," T'Challa motioned for everyone to follow.
The group walked through the crowd to the center, surrounded by a fence. The crowd was kept outside the fence. Obviously, this arena was temporarily built.
From afar, Swampfire saw his opponent, the leader of the Border Tribe - W'Kabi. At this time, he was fully armed, wearing a flowing blue cape, holding a strangely shaped curved long knife, staring straight at Swampfire's arrival.
"Good morning," Swampfire greeted, in stark contrast to W'Kabi, who was on full alert.
"This arena is really, uh, simple. I thought it would be more gorgeous."
"Wakanda doesn't have a place like an arena," W'Kabi suddenly explained.
"Only when the king challenges will he go to the arena, but that is a special place, not any level of battle can touch it."
"That must be very sacred," Swampfire said.
"Of course," W'Kabi nodded.
"Are both sides ready?" A royal guard came between the two. Originally, this should have been the duty of the captain of the guard, but to avoid suspicion, she had to do it.
"I'm fine," Swampfire said.
"Me too," W'Kabi replied.
"Then..."
Just as the guard was about to announce the start, a commotion suddenly came from outside the arena, with bursts of powerful roars gradually approaching from afar.
"Is that the sound of monkeys?" Tony frowned.
"Although it sounds similar, it should be people imitating it," Banner heard the difference.
"Are those the Jabari?" Suri asked Ramonda beside her. Ramonda nodded, answering Suri's doubts.
"Father, let me go and solve it," T'Challa asked T'Chaka for his opinion.
"No, son," T'Chaka refused T'Challa's proposal.
"I should go here."

Just as the Black Panthers were talking, a group of tall and burly men passed through the crowd and came to the edge of the arena. The leader was wearing armor and holding a club. With a light leap, he crossed the fence and came into the arena.
"M'Baku, what are you doing here?" W'Kabi looked at the newcomer in surprise.
"What am I doing?" M'Baku grinned.
"Of course, I'm here to help you drive out foreign enemies."
As he spoke, he pointed the club in his hand at Swampfire.
"This is my duel, M'Baku!" W'Kabi looked at the strong man beside him, burning with anger.
"Are you trying to humiliate me?"
"You think this is a duel? Bah!" M'Baku spat disdainfully.
"This is clearly an outsider trying to steal our national treasure. What's wrong with me driving them out? Or are you colluding with the enemy, wanting to lose to the other party in the duel, and then give away the national treasure!"
"Take back your delusions!" W'Kabi raised his curved knife.
"Otherwise, I'll let my blade help you!"
Now that's great, they haven't even started fighting yet, and their own people are already fighting among themselves. Swampfire scratched his head, and for a moment he wanted to grow a sunflower, grab some melon seeds, and sit and watch the show while munching on them.
Unfortunately, the good show didn't last long. Just as the two were at each other's throats, a spear fell like a meteor between the two, piercing into the dirt, separating them.
Everyone looked over and found that it was Okoye, who was looking at everyone with a serious face.
"Fighting among yourselves in front of outsiders, do you want to shame Wakanda?"
Okoye's reprimand worked. W'Kabi and M'Baku looked at each other and stopped arguing.
No matter what, Wakanda's glory is the most important.
Just as the atmosphere was gradually turning awkward, T'Chaka came to everyone.
