The Nightcrawler, encased in a rectangular prism of building blocks, thrashed incessantly on the ground, but no matter how hard it tried, it was all in vain.
It was wrapped up tightly, with no room to exert force, making escape unlikely.
For an ordinary person, that might be the case, but it was Nightcrawler, possessing the teleportation ability inherited from its father, the Red Devil.
A cloud of blue smoke emerged from the building block prison, a harbinger of Nightcrawler's power.
Yang Le frowned. As the strongest assassin in the X-Men, Nightcrawler's elusive abilities were indeed a headache unless it was killed with a single blow.
Peter stopped beside the prison, gasping for breath, his forehead covered in sweat as if he had just run a marathon. He had almost been scared out of his wits.
But now was clearly not the time to relax his guard. He adjusted his breathing while cautiously surveying his surroundings.
Moonstone emitted dazzling light from her hands, ready to unleash firepower on the attackers at any moment.
Franklin and Valeria were somewhat at a loss, and before they could understand what was happening, Nightcrawler had already disappeared.
The Craftsman also heard the commotion outside, picked up his laser gun, and cautiously stepped out of the tent.
Just as the Craftsman was about to ask Peter what had happened, he saw a cloud of blue smoke suddenly appearing behind Peter. As a member of the X-Men, he was all too familiar with this blue smoke.
Too late to warn him, swallowing the words that were already on his lips, the Craftsman immediately raised his gun and fired, a beam of crimson energy shooting towards Peter's back.
Thanks to years of cooperation, Peter knew what was happening the moment he saw the Craftsman's shot. Without thinking, he immediately dove forward.
The crimson beam grazed Peter's hair, attacking Nightcrawler behind him. Peter's scalp tingled, and he seemed to smell a burnt odor. The burn that had long healed even began to ache faintly, though he knew it was just his imagination.
The beam was fast, but Nightcrawler was faster. With a burst of smoke, it disappeared again, the laser only piercing a cloud of smoke.
"TMD!" The Craftsman cursed, scanning his surroundings with his gun.
Peter rolled with the momentum, not only evading Nightcrawler's sneak attack but also darting to the side of the Fantastic Twins.
"Back-to-back!" Peter shouted, no longer bothering to suppress his voice, protecting the twins behind him.
Hearing this, the twins immediately turned around, vigilantly watching the blind spots in Peter's line of sight.
"Come over here, Craftsman!" Moonstone called out, moving closer to Yang Le as well, since Yang Le was closer to her.
"This can't go on forever!" The Craftsman exclaimed, quickly running towards Yang Le and the others, who were closer to him.
"At this rate, we'll be worn down by it sooner or later. Zombies don't need to sleep!"
Yang Le pondered for a moment, and with a flash of white light, transformed into another hero.
As the white light dissipated, an alien resembling a crab with a white shell replaced Blockhead Ape, appearing on the spot.
"Crab-Armored Brainiac!"
Yang Le habitually announced his name after transforming, then used his four crab legs to turn his body and scan the surroundings.
"He changed again!" Franklin exclaimed.
"A crab?" Valeria guessed.
"Concentrate, kids!" Peter reminded them, proving that no matter how talented they were, they still had the minds of children.
"Hmm~"
Yang Le scratched his chin with his crab claw, speaking in a tone of pride that seemed ingrained in his bones.
"Simple and easy to guess."
With that, the shell on his head suddenly flipped open, revealing his pink brain, from which a yellow current shot out.
"Your next line is, Augh!"
However, Nightcrawler did not appear. Yang Le's attack hit only an empty corner, and no one understood what he was trying to do.
Suddenly, a cloud of blue smoke dispersed. It was Nightcrawler, launching another attack, and his position was exactly where Yang Le had been aiming, the corner that had been empty a moment ago.
"Augh!"
The bio-current accurately hit Nightcrawler in mid-air. The powerful current first disrupted his biological functions, causing him to twitch uncontrollably, and finally, he began to carbonize, turning into a black charcoal and falling to the ground, turning into black carbon powder.
"Bingo!" Yang Le extended his crab claw, aiming at the pile of ashes on the ground.
"Being all-knowing is always so delightful, but guessing the foolish actions of your rotting brain doesn't make me any happier."
“The most ⊥ new ⊥ small ⊥ said ⊥ in ⊥ six ⊥ 9 ⊥⊥ book ⊥⊥ bar ⊥⊥ first ⊥ hair!”
"How did you know it would appear there?" Valeria moved closer to Yang Le.
"Be careful, Little Val," Peter warned. "There might be other attackers."
"There won't be any more for a while," Yang Le denied.
"This guy clearly came alone. If he had teammates, as the one to deliver the decisive blow, he would undoubtedly be more efficient than a loud and clamorous attacker. But they are hive minds, so there will definitely be other attackers later. This place is no longer safe."
"As for you, little girl," Yang Le turned his body with his crab legs, looking at Valeria.
"This is just basic calculation. I think you can understand what I'm saying if you think about it carefully."
"Don't let the thoughts of your fathers bind you. Use your brain more. It's not just for inventions. Break away from those formulas, and you'll see a different world."
Yang Le patiently guided her, imparting to Valeria the way of thinking of the Crab-Armored Brainiac's race, the Crab-Armored Brocatosians. In their eyes, everything in the world can be calculated, including battles.
The Crab-Armored Brocatosians are most proud of their calculated combat skills. In battle, they always calculate everything around them, relying on step-by-step planning to defeat their opponents.
Sometimes, even kicking up a pebble can become the key to their victory.
In short, you can think of them as Jackie Chan fighting in a furniture store, able to utilize anything.
After listening to Yang Le's words, Valeria fell into deep thought. After all, she was a character in the Marvel Universe whose intelligence ranked among the top, and Miss Brainiac quickly understood the key.
This undoubtedly opened the door to a new world for her, like a spring breeze caressing her face. She closed her eyes, and when she reopened them, the whole world had changed.
"So that's how it is," Valeria murmured softly. She knew why Nightcrawler had been hit. As Yang Le said, it was just a simple calculation. Why hadn't she thought of it before?
Yang Le looked at the deeply shocked Valeria and nodded with satisfaction. There was nothing more fulfilling than imparting knowledge and resolving doubts.
It must be said, Crab-Armored Brainiac is really stinky.
