#329 - The Adventure Tigers explore the underground of Cadmus Institute (not really)
"What's wrong, Martian Girl?" Yang Le asked, noticing Megan's stiffness and unusual brainwave activity. He immediately realized that Robin and his gang were up to something again.
"It's nothing, sir," Martian Girl replied stiffly. "It's just that Robin transmitted a lot of data, and I wasn't prepared and got startled."
"Is that so?" Yang Le didn't dwell on the matter. He was sure Robin and the others were causing trouble and had even won Megan over.
The Bat-family kids all have some rebellious spirit in them. Wally is restless, Roy is unusually persistent about joining the Justice League, and even Jackson, a stable and humble good kid whose skin color doesn't quite match his personality, probably couldn't resist. After all, he's just a 16-year-old kid.
And Megan, who always subconsciously tries to please others due to her background, definitely wouldn't offer other opinions at this time. Her fear of being excluded is the key reason she doesn't dare to contradict others.
However, this didn't surprise Yang Le. He had expected it long ago. To make these kids behave, he probably had to wait until they grew up or lost something important.
The power of suggestion is very effective on these kids. A group of mischievous kids together can always do things they wouldn't dare to do alone. In Yang Le's opinion, these mischievous kids need some deeper lessons.
Thinking about it, Yang Le suddenly had a good idea, an idea that even made him shudder. If this plan succeeds, Yang Le might gain a bunch of fun… no, a team of helpful, stable, and mature superheroes.
As a teacher, Yang Le nodded. He decided to act immediately. For the fresh blood of the Justice League, he felt obligated!
"Are you thirsty, Martian Girl?" Yang Le pointed to the nearby beat-up car. "There are some chilled drinks in the car. Cola? Juice? Or water?"
"Ah? Oh!" Martian Girl was clearly not used to lying and looked flustered. "Juice, juice will do."
"OK." Yang Le moved his crab legs and quickly walked to the beat-up car. Under Megan's worried gaze, he closed the car door. Every second Yang Le disappeared was torment for Megan.
Just as Megan couldn't help but use her X-ray vision to check Yang Le's condition, Yang Le leisurely opened the car door and walked out, holding two cans of drinks with his crab claws.
"Sorry, after the beat-up car transformed, the refrigerator was hidden in the trunk. It took some time to find it," Yang Le said with a normal expression. Or rather, no one could see any change in his expression on his face made of hard carapace.
"Here, this is your juice." Yang Le handed the juice to Megan. "What's wrong? You don't look well. Is the fear of fire still there?"
"Yes, a little." Megan guiltily took the juice, stiffly opened it, and took a small sip. The cold, sweet juice relaxed her a little.
"If you feel uncomfortable, be sure to tell me in time." Yang Le's eyes flickered, and a blue object quietly burrowed into the ground behind him. No one present noticed this anomaly.
While Megan was matching wits with Yang Le, the Adventure Team didn't stop their adventure. They relied on Robin and Kid Flash's grappling hooks to descend continuously, eventually stopping on the twenty-sixth floor below ground due to the length of the ropes.
"Opened it." Robin operated on the microcomputer, and the elevator door slowly opened. "Welcome to the real Cadmus Labs."
The dim tunnel was completely different from the above-ground research institute in style. The group walked into the tunnel, and Kid Flash smirked at the long tunnel.
'I'll go ahead and scout the way,' he said in the mental channel, and before anyone could reply, he ran out first.
Aqualad covered his forehead. This team was really difficult to lead. Although he wasn't the leader, as the oldest member of the team, he subconsciously took on this responsibility.
There was no other way. Although Kid Flash was the same age as him, the former was unpredictable and might argue with others for some reason.
'Slow down, Kid Flash!' Helplessly, Aqualad could only remind him in the mental channel, then led the remaining two to try to keep up with him.
The transmission in the mental channel was much faster than sound, but by the time Kid Flash received it, he had already run to the corner of the tunnel. When he was about to turn, he saw an incredibly huge figure.
"Thump!"
A muffled footstep came. It was several behemoths with huge bodies and gray skin, looking like the behemoths often appearing in games and various works. The footsteps of these behemoths were surprisingly uniform, and the footsteps were transmitted together.
Kid Flash was startled by these suddenly appearing behemoths, and scrambled to climb away from the behemoths' path. Surprisingly, these behemoths clearly ran into Kid Flash face-to-face, but didn't react to the latter at all, as if they didn't see him.
'Kid Flash, are you okay?' Taking advantage of Kid Flash's daze, Aqualad ran behind him and asked.
'I'm fine,' Kid Flash came back to his senses. 'Do you know what those are?'
'Obviously, these are the truth of Cadmus Labs.'
Artemis and Robin arrived late, after all, they were just ordinary people. Although their physical fitness far exceeded their peers, they certainly couldn't compare with the two metahumans in front.
'Look there.' Robin pointed to the top of the behemoths, and the crowd followed the direction of Robin's finger and found that on the top of one of the behemoths, there was a petite creature with gray and white skin and two small red horns on its head.
The newest novel is first published on Liǔ 9 Shū Ba!
Artemis pulled out the bow behind her, and Robin was recording everything in front of him with a microcomputer.
'I feel like there are definitely more secrets waiting for us.' Robin looked at the direction the behemoths were coming from.
The crowd moved in the direction the behemoths were coming from. After walking for about five or six minutes, they finally saw a reinforced metal security door. Robin didn't say anything and took out his microcomputer to decipher the door password.
Obviously, this kind of registered security door couldn't stop Robin, and the security door opened in just thirty seconds.
'As simple as going home.' Robin boasted a little, and took the lead to walk in.
As soon as they entered the door, the Young Justice were shocked by the scene in front of them. This was an incredibly wide room, and several rows of walls composed of half-person-high glass jars were neatly arranged in the room, reaching four or five meters high.
In those half-person-high glass jars, there were terrifying bugs that were half-person-high. Their bodies were glowing with cyan electric light, and the electric light was transmitted to all directions along the pipes.
'This is a power plant.' Robin said with certainty.
