#406 - Diana in the Dungeon
In the blink of an eye, Yang Le had already floated into the palace. When he came before, there were only ruins and rubble, but now not only had the debris been cleared away, but a magnificent palace had been built.
Yang Le sneakily poked his head into the palace, and at first glance, he saw two graceful figures lounging on their respective wicker chairs. One he didn't recognize, but the other was a familiar face—the witch Circe.
Between the two wicker chairs was a table made of the same material, laden with various fruits, delicacies, and a golden wine jug.
Circe lightly raised a finger, and the wine jug slowly floated up, pouring a glass of wine for each of them before leisurely returning to its original position.
"Thank you very much for your help, Your Highness Nephthys," Circe said, handing a glass to the woman opposite her before taking her own.
Nephthys took a shallow sip of the wine, the scarlet liquid clinging to her lips, making her face even more enchanting.
After putting down her glass, Nephthys opened her mouth and said, "It's not entirely to help you; it's also to help ourselves. Thanks to the opportunity you provided, we can step out of our confined space and take over this place openly."
"I can see that you've been dissatisfied with your previous situation for a long time," Circe said, picking up a grape and putting it in her mouth.
"Dissatisfied doesn't even begin to describe it," Nephthys said, placing her wine glass on the table. "I've long had the idea of overthrowing them, but because of that child favored by the gods, I had to suppress that idea in my heart."
"The child favored by the gods?" Circe sneered. "Now she's just a prisoner. As a loser, she has been stripped of everything."
Before Circe could finish speaking, footsteps came from outside the door, and a fully armed Troia walked in.
"Troia, my pride, come here," Circe said, standing up and opening her arms like a mother welcoming her child.
Troia didn't refuse, quickly walking up to meet Circe's embrace. The two hugged for a moment before letting go.
"How is it?" Circe asked, smoothing Troia's hair. "Did you take care of our prisoner, Miss?"
"It's done. I locked her in the Amazon's underground prison," Troia answered honestly, but then she asked with doubt.
"Why don't we just get rid of her? It would save trouble in the long run."
"My silly child," Circe chuckled, gently tapping Troia's forehead. "We haven't subdued the Amazons outside yet. If we rashly execute their princess, it will surely arouse their anger. Once they resist, we'll have to suppress them, but if we destroy them, wouldn't that be counterproductive?"
In fact, that was just the simplest reason. The deeper reason Circe didn't kill Diana was because Diana was a child watched by the gods. Although these gods wouldn't bother to interfere, if Diana were really killed, even Circe couldn't be sure if a god would really take action.
After all, the Olympian gods' favorite thing to do was to pull strings behind the scenes, a tradition that had been passed down since ancient Greece.
So Circe really didn't dare to attack Diana for the time being. She decided to keep Diana alive to test the gods' bottom line, but although she couldn't take her life, she certainly couldn't skimp on humiliating her. The first step was to throw Diana into the dungeon.
"Don't be ashamed, my child," Circe comforted the ashamed Troia. "As a newly crowned queen, you still have much to learn. You must unite the two tribes into one and become the queen of all Amazons."
"Unite the two tribes?"
Before Circe could finish speaking, Nephthys, who was behind her, couldn't sit still any longer and immediately stood up from the wicker chair, questioning Circe.
"Circe! What nonsense are you talking about! This is not in our…"
Nephthys felt a stabbing pain in her abdomen, and then something surged from her throat. Nephthys clutched her stomach, bent over, and vomited a large mouthful of blood with a 'wah' sound.
"What is this?" Troia looked at everything in front of her in shock. She wanted to check on Nephthys's condition, but Circe stopped her.
"Relax, Troia," Circe said with a smile, hugging Troia. "I'm just helping you remove the stumbling block before you ascend the throne. I know you're a warrior, so leave this kind of dirty work to your mother."
"Cir…ce…" Nephthys fell into the pool of blood, looking at the witch with a ferocious expression. The pain of her intestines being torn apart further fueled her resentment.
"I…curse you! Curse…you…"
After struggling a few times, Nephthys finally died. The proud queen died miserably in the blood.
Facing Nephthys's curse, Circe didn't care at all. She just clapped her hands lightly, and the corpse and blood disappeared without a trace. Circe turned around and turned into the appearance of the recently deceased Nephthys.
"How is it, my darling?" Circe, transformed into Nephthys, showed off her body. "Doesn't it look exactly the same?"
Only then did Troia come back to her senses, answering woodenly, "Ah, yes, Mother."
Seeing Troia's absent-mindedness, Circe just smiled, then hugged Troia again, comforting her with words like 'I'm doing this all for your own good,' 'You have to become the Amazon queen, this is an indispensable part,' 'Only then can we live a good life,' and so on.
Yang Le, who had been peeping at the whole process from the side, was speechless. Isn't this the legendary PUA? The inexperienced Troia was indeed easily manipulated.
After enjoying a classic European and American power struggle, Yang Le left with Diana's location, which he had gleaned from a few words. As the saying goes, the Amazonians' infighting had nothing to do with him. He was just here to get Diana's location, and now that he knew it, he could leave.
According to Troia, Diana was now being held in the dungeon. Although Yang Le didn't know where the dungeon was, dungeons were definitely underground. As long as he drilled into the ground, he would always find it.
After exhausting a lot of effort, Yang Le finally found a staircase underground. He floated down the stairs and found a dungeon. Still ignoring the guards, Yang Le found Diana deep in the dungeon.
At this time, Wonder Woman no longer had her former majesty. The armor and weapons on her body had been removed, and she only had a torn linen cloth on her body. Her hands and feet were locked with shackles, and the shackles were connected to iron chains. Because of the iron chains, Diana could only choose to kneel on the ground or sit on the ground, and even lying down was impossible.
Seeing this scene, Yang Le felt a burst of palpitation for no reason and immediately showed his figure. Although her body was locked, Diana's perception was still keen, and she immediately noticed that there was an extra person in the prison.
Struggling to raise her head, she saw Yang Le, who had turned into a ghost. When she saw the Omnitrix logo on the ghost's chest, she immediately knew that Yang Le had come.
"To be honest, I least wanted you to see me like this," Diana said with a wry smile.
