#421 - Cleaning up the battlefield

Sotonaggians are very similar to Predators; the latter like to make handy weapons out of their prey, and the former also have this custom, except Sotonaggians only collect mechanical prey, being more picky, while Predators are more omnivorous, almost accepting anything.

Yang Le, now a Sotonaggian, was no exception. Discarding the pilot's severed hand, Yang Le began to carefully inspect the mecha for any usable parts. He wasn't worried about Gwen at all; with the shapeshifting suit and Spider-Man's superpowers, Gwen would crush anyone unless she encountered a BUG-level character. The terrorists' armaments couldn't possibly harm her, so he might as well check their technology to see if he could find any clues.

Yang Le roughly examined the various armaments on the mecha and found that they were basically worthless. These large armaments couldn't be mounted on Yang Le's armor, so Yang Le could only dismantle the communication device in the cockpit, use the communication device embedded in his mask to record the terrorists' communication channels, and then use his mechanical limbs to download all the data from the mecha.

Having done all this, Yang Le turned around and found Gwen standing below the mecha wreckage, staring up at him, not knowing how long she had been standing there.

Jumping down from the wreckage to Gwen's side, Yang Le asked, "How was it on your side?"

Gwen pointed behind her. Yang Le followed her finger and saw Tony, who had been untied. He hadn't removed his armor yet, and it seemed he was still wary of Yang Le and Gwen.

"Who are you people?" Tony asked, his voice sounding muffled and unclear, probably because of the mask.

"Masked heroes, just like those reported in the newspapers. I remember your dad was also a vigilante," Yang Le said, spreading his hands. "What? Don't we look like it?"

"Masked heroes? Maybe," Tony shrugged. "Then what are your codenames? I at least need to know who saved me."

"She's called Ghost-Spider, and as for me..." Yang Le hesitated before saying, "You can call me Nian Nian Monster."

Nian, in Chinese, means twenty. Considering that Ben Tennyson would definitely use the number ten if he became a Sotonaggian, he would probably call himself Ten-Ten Monster. Not wanting to have the same name, and not wanting to call himself Eleven-Eleven Monster, Yang Le felt the profound Chinese language could perfectly solve this problem, and even felt that the name he chose was ingenious.

But unfortunately, although Yang Le spoke the profound Chinese, the Omnitrix translated it into English, stating its meaning directly.

"Twenty Twenty?" Tony couldn't help but frown. "That name is... very mathematical. I guess you have a lot of siblings."

"No, I'm an only child," Yang Le said.

"Okay," Tony said, not feeling embarrassed by his wrong guess, his expression remaining normal.

"Thank you very much for rescuing me from the terrorists. Could you leave an address so I can visit and express my gratitude?"

"No need, young master," Gwen waved her hand. "You should worry about your own family's property."

Reminded by Gwen, Tony remembered this least important aspect in his eyes. Surveying the stadium, which belonged to Stark Industries and had been completed less than a month ago, he realized it would take a long time to put it back into use.

"Tony!"

A clear voice came from his ear. Tony looked over and saw Xue Xi running towards him. Seeing her youthful vitality, Tony felt a little better.

Tearing off his mask, Tony smiled and caught Xue Xi as she rushed into his arms, saying, "I'm glad you're okay, but unfortunately, your concert is ruined."

"That's not important," Xue Xi shook her head. "The concert can be held again anytime, as long as everyone is safe."

"I still have to apologize to you, after all, the incident started because of me," Tony said to Xue Xi with apology.

"Don't say that," Xue Xi put her hand on Tony's shoulder, looking directly into his eyes. "No one could have predicted all of this, and besides, you are also a victim, Tony."

"Cough cough cough!"

Just as Tony was about to speak, a few coughs came from the side. The two turned around and saw a suit of armor floating in the air.

The blue and silver paint scheme appeared restrained and serious, and the Stark Industries logo on the shoulder indicated the identity of the visitor.

"Dad?"

"Mr. Stark!"

The two reacted in completely opposite ways. Tony looked resentful, while Xue Xi looked panicked.

"I thought I was wearing an invisible suit," Howard Stark's voice came from inside the armor. Seeing that both of them were looking at him, he controlled the armor to land.

"Thump!"

"Actually, I didn't really want to interrupt you two," Howard's voice was full of helplessness. "But after all, the situation is special now."

"Don't worry, there's nothing between us, Mr.," Xue Xi broke free from Tony's embrace, awkwardly adjusting her hair, while Tony rolled his eyes at his father.

"Speaking of which, this is our first time meeting, right, Xue Xi," Howard walked towards the two, and Xue Xi's heart beat faster as the armor's footsteps approached.

"Yes, Mr.," Xue Xi was even more embarrassed, because of what had just happened, she was still wearing her performance costume, which had long been soaked with sweat due to the strenuous exercise. Although it was now dry, it was still covered in a lot of dust and dirt, and Xue Xi felt that she must look terrible now.

Tony saw Xue Xi's embarrassment, took off the glove on his right hand, put his hand on Xue Xi's shoulder and said, "Don't worry, Xue Xi, my dad is a very busy man, that armor might just be an empty shell."

"You guessed wrong, little genius."

The armor opened, and Howard, wearing a well-tailored suit, walked out of it, standing right in front of the two of them. Behind him, the armor closed again, transforming into a humanoid form and standing guard.

"The one in danger is my son, no matter what I have to do, I will come to your side."

Howard stretched out his right hand to Xue Xi, his meaning self-evident. Xue Xi was stunned for a moment before she came back to her senses and shook his hand.

"So, can someone tell me exactly what happened?" Howard looked at the chaotic interior of the stadium. "I remember the finished drawings I saw before weren't this style."

"A group of terrorists tried to kidnap me," Tony tilted his head. "I fought back bravely, but was ultimately defeated and captured. The masked hero duo standing over there saved me."

Tony pointed and turned his head, but when he turned around, he found that the place where Yang Le and Gwen should have been standing was now empty.
