#50 - Gorgon's Abilities
"Both of these creatures possess extraordinary strength. The 'Mr.' might need them, so let's hold off on taking action for now."
Ms. Bullseye walked over to Gwen, who had been turned into a stone statue, picked up the briefcase, and continued, "Let's head back and report. We'll explain everything to Mr. Fisk and let him decide. After all, he hates it when people make decisions for him."
Gorgon remained noncommittal. Kingpin was an unpredictable tyrant, and it was best not to overstep boundaries when working under him.
"Let's go. There's a car waiting for us over there." Gorgon hoisted the unconscious Hellman onto his shoulder and took the lead.
"Goodbye, sweetheart." Ms. Bullseye patted Gwen's face and followed Gorgon out.
Soon after the sound of a car starting, the port returned to silence.
"Crack."
Tiger Wild, who had turned into a stone statue, suddenly made a noise, and a fine crack appeared on his body.
"Crack, crack."
The sound became more frequent, and the cracks multiplied. Countless stone fragments began to fall off, and a slender purple figure emerged from the statue and collapsed to the ground.
"Huff~, I really took a tumble this time." Yang Le gasped for breath.
For a moment, he thought he was going to die. Thankfully, the Omnitrix's protective function automatically selected an alien hero suitable for the current environment upon sensing a deadly threat.
"Turning into a Petrosapien to evade petrification." Yang Le looked down at his arm, which was made of magenta crystals. "You really came through, you little piece of junk."
That's right, the alien hero chosen by the Omnitrix was Diamondhead's fellow Petrosapien, Chromastone.
"You really saved my life this time." Yang Le looked at the Omnitrix on his chest with affection.
"Right! Spider!" Yang Le looked up and quickly saw Gwen, who had also turned into a stone statue.
He ran to Gwen in a few strides. Gwen was still in a punching posture, clearly resisting until the last second.
Yang Le clenched his fists. He had broken his promise. He had promised George to take care of Gwen, but Gwen had turned into a stone statue right beside him.
The cause of all this was none other than himself, who treated battles as a game, unlocking all the Omnitrix's permissions, making him arrogant and conceited.
If it were before, in this situation without information, he would have most likely chosen Swampfire, an alien hero with strong recovery and comprehensive abilities, instead of Tiger Wild, who was uncontrollable and had too many uncertain factors.
He was also not a good teacher. Even Gwen was influenced by him, treating the dangerous battles as a game.
Yang Le activated the Omnitrix on his chest, selected an alien hero, and pressed down.
A flash of white light, and a new alien hero replaced Chromastone.
A brassy, chubby metallic body, with a huge wind-up key on its head, and a circular transparent glass on its chest, through which you could see the white gears inside.
"I will heal you soon, Gwen," Yang Le said in a muffled voice as Clockwork. Self-pity was useless; it was better to solve the immediate problem first.
Clockwork gathered his power in his chest and then fired it at Gwen, who had turned into a stone statue.
A white beam of light enveloped Gwen, and after the white light, the stone statue began to change.
Like rewinding a video, Gwen, who had turned into a stone statue, was visibly returning to normal, the whole process only taking two or three seconds.
"Hey-yah!"
"Clang!"
Because Yang Le fired the time ray at Gwen's front, Gwen's last punch before petrification hit Yang Le hard.
"That hurts!" ×2
Two cries of pain rang out simultaneously. Yang Le was knocked to the ground, and Gwen squatted on the ground, clutching her right hand.
"Hiss~ What's going on?"
Gwen gasped, looking around in confusion.
"Simply put, we lost, then I saved you, and finally you hit your savior." Yang Le said, raising his hand while lying on the ground.
"Are you Hubie?" Gwen asked uncertainly. After all, the differences between each alien hero were great, and she could only rely on the Omnitrix on her chest to identify them.
"It's me." Yang Le raised his hand like a student being called on in class.
Gwen shook her hand. After all, Clockwork's skin was metal, and it still hurt to hit it.
Looking at Yang Le still lying on the ground, Gwen walked over and reached out to pull him up.
"Can you tell me in detail what happened?" Gwen reached out to take off her mask, but thinking that it was still unsafe, she finally put her hand down.
"I only remember seeing a samurai dressed like someone out of a period drama. At that time, my spider-sense was shaking like a fascia gun."
"I don't know much about that samurai either." Yang Le thought carefully, trying to squeeze useful information from his brain.
"His name should be Gorgon."
"Gorgon?" Gwen frowned. "The same name as the Gorgon from mythology?"
"Gorgon is his code name. I'm sorry, I really can't remember his real name. I only remember that he is also a member of the Hand."
Yang Le racked his brains until the wind-up key on his head turned, physically realizing the speed of his brain turning.
"As for his ability, like his code name, petrification. Anyone who sees his eyes will be petrified. At the same time, he seems to be a mutant."
"Mutant? What's that?" Hearing a new term, Gwen asked curiously.
"Similar to you, a group of humans with superpowers, except that mutants' abilities are innate, and yours are acquired." Yang Le knocked on his metal head, making a dong dong sound.
"As for what superpowers Gorgon has... I remember it seems to be mental, like telepathy."
"Telepathy? Doesn't that mean he can know what we're thinking?" Gwen was shocked after hearing this. "How can we fight such an enemy? Does he already know our real identities?"
"No, he doesn't." Yang Le denied Gwen's guess.
"I remember his ability shouldn't be that strong. He can't read everything you think. His ability is closer to telepathic resonance. He can only read a rough emotion."
"As for defeating him, it's difficult and easy. I remember his ability also works on himself." Yang Le had a flash of inspiration when he said this.
Yang Le snapped his fingers and said, "Just put a mirror on your body and let him see himself."
"So simple? Just like the myths?" Gwen said in disbelief. She didn't expect that the ability that made her feel helpless had such a big flaw.
"How do you know, Hubie?"
Yang Le showed a profound smile, but because he turned into Clockwork, it looked a little silly.
"The wisdom of the ancients."
(Wolverine used the reflection of his claws to reflect Gorgon's superpower, turning him into stone, and his code name is also the biggest flaw in his ability. I really don't know what he was thinking when he came up with such a code name.)
