The Comprehensive Evolution of American Comics
#556 - Kill one person first
For various reasons, both heroes and villains in the cinematic universe have experienced varying degrees of weakening.
Take Corvus Glaive, for example. In the comic universe, besides the super strength and healing abilities that most strong characters possess, what makes him most talked about is his peerless blade.
This battle blade is designed to cut objects at the atomic level. It can be said that very few things in the universe can withstand its strikes. Even vibranium and adamantium, which is even harder, would become like tofu in front of it.
Sounds impressive, right? But that's all it is. Besides being sharp, this blade is useless. Only Corvus Glaive cherishes it as a treasure and binds himself to it, giving himself the ability to be immortal as long as the blade isn't destroyed.
Then, in the comics, he was purged by Thanos. This guy rebelled when Thanos was weak, but he was soon stopped head-on by the Purple Potato精 (Thanos) who blocked his peerless blade's strike and crushed it into pieces. Losing his reliance, Corvus Glaive, knowing his end was near, picked up the fragments and committed suicide.
Logically, since Thanos could block the peerless blade head-on, Yang Le felt that Kryptonians and Martians could do the same. However, this was still a battle, and even against a weakened peerless blade, Yang Le chose a more conservative approach.
After all, at its worst, this peerless blade could still cut through vibranium. Not everyone wants to be like that Metropolis boy who clearly could dodge but didn't. The farm boy clearly stumbled many times on this, but he just doesn't learn.
"Cells…dodged…the strike?" Corvus Glaive repeated what Yang Le had just said, clearly unable to understand Yang Le's meaning.
"Is it that hard to understand?" Yang Le frowned, then extended his right hand towards Corvus Glaive, who was lying on the ground. With a slight hook of his finger, Corvus Glaive was immediately pulled up by an invisible force.
With a gentle wave, Corvus Glaive was summoned to Yang Le's front. Removing the mind control, Yang Le opened his hands in front of Corvus Glaive, who was less than an arm's length away.
"One more time, this time you need to watch carefully."
"Boom!"
It felt like something exploded in his head. Corvus Glaive's face twisted and deformed. Intense anger mixed with humiliation impacted his brain. He was almost losing his mind.
"Swish!"
Raising his battle blade, Corvus Glaive released all the martial arts he had accumulated in half his life in a venting manner. The man-high battle blade was swung with afterimages, and dozens of strikes were unleashed in an instant.
However, Yang Le in front of him remained unmoving, continuing to maintain his wide-open posture, allowing Corvus Glaive to vent his anger.
"Huff~ Huff~!"
After slashing continuously for more than ten seconds, Corvus Glaive, suddenly feeling a lack of breath, finally stopped swinging. Large beads of sweat ran down his face. The cloak, which was originally soaked in blood and seawater, was dried by the increased body temperature from his intense exercise.
But even though he was so embarrassed, Yang Le in front of him was still intact, without receiving any damage. Corvus Glaive finally understood what Yang Le meant.
"Didn't cut…" Corvus Glaive's narrow eyes stared intently at the enemy in front of him. Since obtaining this battle blade, the unparalleled sharpness had made him dull. He didn't expect that now he would need so long to react to whether he had even hit the target.
I've become stronger, but also weaker.
"Understand now?" Yang Le asked. Corvus Glaive then realized that the other party had not actually spoken aloud, and the voice had been coming from his mind.
"You read my mind? No wonder my moves can't hurt you."
Corvus Glaive suddenly understood, apparently attributing his failure of swinging hundreds or thousands of times to Yang Le's telepathic abilities.
"It's not that complicated." Yang Le shook his head. "It's purely because you swing your blade too slowly."
Hearing Yang Le say this, Corvus Glaive experienced a brief moment of astonishment before laughing loudly. The laughter was so unpleasant that Yang Le frowned.
"Ugh!"
An invisible force controlled Corvus Glaive's body, forcibly stopping his laughter, causing him to only make '咯咯咯咯' nonsensical sounds.
Yang Le moved his palm slightly backward, and Corvus Glaive's body also moved along with it, coming to Yang Le's side. He covered Corvus Glaive's head with his palm and activated the byproduct of the Martian's telepathic ability—mind scan.
Just like a computer reading data from a USB drive, in the blink of an eye, Corvus Glaive's memory was completely read by Yang Le, even his forgotten memories from infancy were dug out by Yang Le.
"I see." Yang Le gently exhaled a breath of turbid air. "So, you killed Vision, Black Panther, and the Wakandan Royal Guard. The peerless blade's initial kill ability is extremely strong. With the cooperation of the other three generals, it's not surprising that you achieved such results."
"Emm, interesting, so Thanos isn't on Earth. He's waited too long and has lost patience, instead going to search for the other gems. Unfortunately, you don't know where Thanos's targets are."
"Hehehehe!" Corvus Glaive wanted to struggle, but unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried, he couldn't break free from Yang Le's control.

"In that case, you're useless." Yang Le's eyes narrowed, and Corvus Glaive's body below the neck began to rotate uncontrollably to the right, quickly exceeding the range that normal creatures could turn.
"Crack!"
A crisp sound of bone breaking came, and Corvus Glaive's body fell powerlessly to the ground, leaving only an ugly head floating under Yang Le's palm.
"Clang!"
The uncontrolled peerless blade fell to the ground. Yang Le reached out and the battle blade immediately floated obediently into his hand. Looking at this precious blade that could cut through gold and jade, Yang Le looked at it with disgust.
As mentioned earlier, Yang Le didn't think much of this blade. Now, picking it up was just to test a few things.
Manipulating the battle blade to float away from his palm, he turned the blade around and cut it down on his arm.
Only a 'clang' was heard, and the peerless blade was blocked outside of Yang Le's skin. Moving the blade away and looking at the white mark on his skin, Yang Le nodded slightly.
Sure enough, the things in the cinematic universe have been weakened to varying degrees. Even if Yang Le didn't increase his body density to the strongest, this blade still couldn't cut through the Martian Manhunter's body. Thinking about it this way, this blade definitely can't break Superman's defense either.
Thinking that he had been fighting wits and courage with this thing for so long, Yang Le could only smile wryly and shake his head. He could only comfort himself with the idea that caution is never wrong.
