#778 - The origin of fear, the vegetative Magneto
The explanation, in essence, was the Supreme One relaying what he knew in a simplified manner to the X-Men.
This included the relationship between Onslaught and Magneto, the recent incident involving the Serpent and the Worthy, and of course, a self-introduction.
"So, the reason the headmaster became so extreme was due to Charles' consciousness?"
Cyclops looked with lingering fear at the old man lying on the bed nearby, terrified at the thought that the person he admired had almost disappeared in such a manner.
"We can't place all the blame on Charles," the Supreme One waved his hand. "The birth of Onslaught ultimately stems from the unfair treatment suffered by mutants."
"Charles, due to his stubbornness, allowed the darkest thoughts in his heart to erupt. Afterward, this thought entered Magneto's brain and combined with his negative emotions, giving rise to the miraculous being known as Onslaught."
"In short, this is still the fault of ordinary humans," Pyro John clicked his tongue in displeasure. "If it weren't for what they did to us, Charles wouldn't have gone mad, and the headmaster wouldn't have almost disappeared."
The Supreme One shrugged. The conflict between humans and mutants was intensifying, and there were indeed many reasons for humans to bring it upon themselves, but mutants were definitely not all villains either.
However, in this universe, perhaps due to the absence of a Professor X, Magneto had become a bit softer, leading to mutants becoming a more vulnerable group.
Fortunately, in this universe, the Sentinel robots were still in their early stages, and the more powerful Nimrod Sentinels had not yet been developed. Mutants could still live a good life by staying far away, and the tragedy of Krakoa would not occur.
If a war between mutants and humans were to truly break out one day, it would seem that the latter would only have themselves to blame.
"Excuse me, Mr.…" Jean asked with concern. "The headmaster hasn't woken up yet. Is it due to some kind of injury?"
"You could say that," the Supreme One raised his right hand, in which a red bead was quietly lying.
"This contains Onslaught's consciousness. When Onslaught dominated Magneto's body, he must have caused a lot of damage to his consciousness. Although I don't know why Onslaught didn't directly destroy him, Magneto is indeed still alive."
"It's just that while he's alive, he's definitely not complete. The current Magneto can only be considered a vegetable."
"This…" Jean's expression changed drastically. All the X-Men wore the same expression, clearly unable to accept this outcome.
"Is there any way to cure the headmaster?" Cyclops asked anxiously.
Magneto's significance to the mutants was immense. He was not only the spiritual pillar of all mutants but also their 'nuclear weapon.' With him, humans would not dare to attack the mutants on the island.
Without Magneto, the mutants were like birds without wings, likely to die at the hands of their natural enemies at any time.
"There's no magic cure for this," the Supreme One said, folding his arms. "Not just humans, but many intelligent beings only understand less than half of the brain."
"The brain, the mind, and the spiritual realm are very mysterious. One wrong move can lead to errors. If you seek medical treatment in desperation, Magneto might directly suffer brain death. The only solution I can think of is to let him rest and recuperate, and then have someone with relevant abilities help him with rehabilitation training."
The Supreme One was not lying. He was indeed powerless in this regard. Among his alien heroes, only X-Man could perfectly resolve this matter. The only other one who could touch this area was Ghost Shadow.
However, Ghost Shadow could only kill or absorb the spirits and souls of creatures. He couldn't repair them.
The X-Men looked bitter. They had encountered such a thing for the first time, and they couldn't think of any good solutions at the moment.
"We can only do this for now," Beast Hank sighed. "Let's follow this gentleman's method first. I will continue to think of ways."
"Thank you," Cyclops nodded. After Magneto fell, he became the leader here. After all, Magneto had been training him in this direction. Usually, the X-Men listened to him, the team leader, when they went on missions, so naturally, no one had any objections at this time.
So Cyclops began to instruct the others on what to do next, but at this time, the Supreme One interrupted them again.
"You'd better consider the issue of accommodation first," Yang Le said, pointing to the clod of earth above their heads.
Cyclops suddenly realized that Magneto was unconscious at this time, and his ability would naturally be unable to continue maintaining it, which meant that the original floating island would definitely sink.
But, why didn't the island sink immediately?
"I used my magic to stabilize it for you," the Supreme One explained. "I can help you maintain everything on the mutant island, allowing it to continue operating as a floating island, and I can also help you set up defenses."
"Then, what price do we have to pay?" Cyclops asked with a frown. There is no free lunch in the world, even children know this. He certainly wouldn't be so naive as to think that the Supreme One would help them for nothing.
"It's very simple," the Supreme One grinned. "Just a few small things."

In another world far away from Earth, Niflheim, a bit higher than Helheim, the silent kingdom of mist, once again welcomed life.
Hela summoned all the kings, just like the previous times, but this time it was a little different.
"Finally," Hela opened her arms. "We can finally overthrow Asgard and let this group of self-proclaimed righteous brutes taste the taste of hell."
"Are we going to help that Serpent?" Sindr looked unhappy. "This is different from what was originally agreed upon."
"Don't worry about these insignificant things, Your Majesty," Malekith adjusted his sleeves. "We must rely on the power of the Serpent to achieve our goals. Seemingly helping him, we are actually helping ourselves."
Malekith's words had some effect. Sindr's expression improved a bit, and the flames burning on his body became much fiercer.
"What we have to do is lead the army to launch an attack on Midgard, so that the Serpent can return to his peak as soon as possible. At that time, he alone can turn the entire Asgard upside down."
Hela's lips curled into a smile, and she raised her hands slightly. Strange green energy rose from her body, and the white ash under her feet began to tremble constantly until several skeletons crawled out of the soil.
