#854 - Why you again?
It turned out that the Martian girl encountered Mongul, who was piloting the 'Warworld' towards Earth, while she was piloting her bio-ship.
The Martian bio-ships are quite well-known in the universe, especially to Mongul's legions, who frequently clash with superheroes.
Mongul's subordinates naturally mistook the Martian girl, heading towards Earth, for the Martian Manhunter, so Megan was understandably attacked. Fortunately, the Green Lantern Corps and the Justice League arrived quickly.
"So, you experienced a space war?" Wally asked, unusually excited. His focus is always different from others.
"That's so cool!"
"I don't think so," Conner said stiffly, with Habie chiming in.
"Wally, war is never a fun thing, especially since Megan almost died in that war."
"Okay, okay," Wally said, scratching his head. "I didn't mean that, I meant…"
"He means, can we take a look inside the ship?" Dick interjected at the right time, stopping his tongue-tied friend. "Seriously, I've been curious about the internal structure of bio-ships for a long time."
Dick didn't know what Wally was going to say next, but he figured it was best to stop him from making the atmosphere even more awkward.
"Oh, of course," Megan said. She hadn't really been paying attention to the discussion, but she couldn't find an opportunity to speak until Dick gave her one.
Megan waved her hand, and the bio-ship's hatch immediately opened. The way it opened was unlike any aircraft the others had ever seen; the hatch opened directly at the rear of the ship.
After the opening, a staircase extended like a tongue. Led by Megan, the group walked up the boarding stairs, finding that the texture felt like stepping on a palm-thick carpet.
In short, it was soft but had strong support, preventing people from falling. Even Artemis and Conner showed curiosity in the face of this new thing.
In a moment, the group arrived inside the ship, only to find that the internal structure was completely different from what they had imagined, because it was empty.
Megan raised her head proudly, lifting her hands slightly. Two orbs of light emerged from the floor, floating to the left and right under Megan's hands.
Then, nine sections of the floor inside the ship rose slightly, transforming into eight chairs with a wriggling motion. The chairs were evenly distributed, divided by a staircase.
There were three chairs on the staircase and six chairs below the staircase. Megan naturally sat in the middle chair on the staircase, as she was responsible for piloting the ship from the center.
The Young Justice League had no hierarchy except for Dick, the leader, so everyone naturally chose their preferred positions. Conner sat to Megan's left, and the others left the right side for Dick, the leader.
The rest just picked randomly. Habie waited for everyone to choose before sitting in the middle-left position. After sitting down, he realized that Courtney was to his right.
Glancing at Courtney's smile, Habie was surprised to find that, excluding the three people above, the six people sitting below the staircase were exactly three boys and three girls, arranged in a left-right distribution.
Artemis claimed that archers needed a clear view, so she sat on the far right, closest to the side window. Troia sat next to her, followed by Courtney.
Wally said he wanted to see the scenery outside the window, so he chose the far left window seat. Jackson lost the polite exchange with Habie and sat next to Wally. Habie naturally sat in the only remaining seat.
Unknown to others, Megan and Courtney were very satisfied with this seating arrangement.
After everyone was seated, two tentacles extended from the back of the chairs, turning into seatbelts and securing everyone. Seeing that everyone was seated, Megan said with a smile.
"Red Tornado, please open the doors."
As soon as Megan finished speaking, Red Tornado, who heard the message through the comms, opened the doors of the hangar, revealing the vast outdoors.
"Then let's go!"
Megan pushed the orbs of light in her hands, and the bio-ship immediately ignited its engines. After moving a short distance, it flew out of the hangar.
"Wow!" Wally leaned his head towards the window, and he would have been plastered against the window if it weren't for the seatbelt.
"This is so cool!"
"Settle down," Dick said, covering his head in exasperation. "You run so fast, why are you so excited about something that's not as fast as you?"
Kid Flash pouted and muttered, "I just run fast, I can't fly, so of course I'm excited."
In fact, besides Megan, the ship's owner, only Dick, Habie, and Troia didn't have any obvious emotional changes.
Dick had been in many of the Bat-family's aircraft, Habie knew what was up, and Troia could fly herself.
Ignoring those three, the atmosphere inside the ship was really like a group of elementary school students on a spring outing bus, except there were no snacks.
Just as Megan was regretting not preparing some snacks, Red Tornado's communication suddenly came through.
"Martian Girl, the Justice League has received a distress call from the Happy Harbor power plant. Something seems to have happened there. The Justice League has assigned this mission to the Young Justice League. Please go and investigate the scene."
"Roger, this is Martian Girl. We will arrive at the scene immediately."
The bio-ship's communication was broadcast in the cockpit, so everyone present heard the mission issued by Red Tornado.
"What can I say?" Wally sighed, looking down at his suit. "Luckily, we're all wearing our uniforms."
"That's a stroke of good luck," Dick joked, then lowered his head to check his equipment, a habit he learned from Batman.
Artemis, as one of the only two ordinary people, also checked her bow and arrows. Fortunately, she had been practicing archery before participating in the group activity, and her bow and quiver were on her back, otherwise she might have had to stay on the plane and wait for orders.
The bio-ship was quite fast, and it only took a few minutes to fly to the Happy Harbor power plant. Without landing, they could see the burning power plant.
"Looks like there must be some powerful guy down there," Artemis said.
As soon as Artemis finished speaking, a tornado soared from the factory building, sweeping the surrounding houses into the sky.
"What, a tornado again!?"
