The Day of the Draw at Hogwarts

Chapter 609 Dumbledore VS Voldemort (two in one)

The dementors who gathered around were also shocked by the evil aura on Voldemort. In their knowledge, few humans had such a dark aura.

"I am here to grant you freedom, join me, surrender to me, and I will allow you to hunt freely." Voldemort said straight to the point.

He looked arrogant because he thought he had given the dementors a bargaining chip that they could not refuse.

Dementors present:?

Voldemort's words were somewhat difficult for them to understand. Why surrender to him, and what is free hunting?

The dementors looked at each other, and confusion passed between them.

Seeing the restless looks of the Dementors, Voldemort thought that his induction was successful.

He stretched out his hands and held the wand with his pale fingers. Voldemort made a downward movement with both hands to signal the dementors to calm down.

"A group like yours should not be imprisoned on this small island. Under my rule, you can have a wider living space!"

The Dementors only felt that the words of the guy in front of them were getting more and more confusing. If the dark aura on his body hadn't made them wary, they would have swarmed up and captured him long ago.

In the past, they might have been tempted by Voldemort when they were hungry, but now Tom had provided them with enough food, which made the price offered by Voldemort less attractive.

You know, even in such a bad situation in the original world line, the dementors did not defect as soon as Voldemort came to the door.

Voldemort was resurrected at the end of Harry's fourth year, and the first large-scale prison break from Azkaban occurred in January 1996, nearly half a year in between. After that, the Dementors remained loyal to the Ministry of Magic. It was not until the Ministry of Magic was completely emptied by the Death Eaters and Scrimgeour lost control of the Ministry that the second large-scale prison break occurred.

Therein lies the problem.

Until Voldemort was reduced to ashes by Harry's Expelliarmus, his Death Eaters did not replace the Ministry of Magic. The structure of the Ministry of Magic has always been retained - the Death Eaters even put up a puppet minister as a cover, instead of letting Voldemort be the minister and Bella the director. So did the dementors break their promise and betray the wizard?

No, they have always followed the wizard's orders. After Voldemort and the Death Eaters took control of the Ministry of Magic, their behavior became even more justified: they really followed the Ministry's orders! As for whether your Ministry of Magic is Fudge's Ministry of Magic, Scrimgeour's Ministry of Magic, or the Puppet Ministry of Magic, it has little to do with the Dementors.

In their eyes, all this is just a dispute among the wizards. They weighed the options and chose the stronger one.

Is there anything wrong?

From Dumbledore's point of view, the Dementors did something wrong, but from the Dementors' point of view, they didn't seem to have done anything wrong.

Dementors are equivalent to a neutral force. They will fall to whichever side gives the strongest force. The premise is that there is no leader.

And now the dementors have a commander!

That's why Tom is here.

After thinking for a moment, the Dementors found that this choice seemed a bit complicated. So they unanimously decided to leave this trouble to their king to deal with.

"We...listen...to the king."

"The king... will decide."

Voldemort understood what the Dementors were saying, and a question came to his mind: Why didn't he know that dark creatures like Dementors had a "king"?

Tom Riddle: I have spent my whole life studying black magic. What black magic in the wizarding world have I not seen?

Well, I really haven’t seen this knowledge before.

Voldemort secretly kept the fact that the Dementors had a leader in mind.

He looked around, trying to find the Lord of Dementors.

It’s good to have a leader! After hearing the news, Voldemort had no other emotions other than surprise, and was even a little happy. Because it is obviously much harder to convince a group than to convince an individual.

What should we do if the king refuses to cooperate? Voldemort said that he was familiar with this and that changing it would solve the problem.

However, in Voldemort's eyes, the Dementors all looked the same, and he couldn't tell which one was the King of Dementors at all. Until the dementors retreated one after another, and a somewhat short dementor stood out.

In fact, Tom was a little wronged. After he transformed into a dementor, his body became very slender. Including the hood, he is over two meters tall. Sadly, the Dementors around him are generally over two and a half meters tall, so Tom looks smaller.

On this point, Napoleon and Tom must have a lot in common. Napoleon gave many people the impression of being short, but he was also a full 170 centimeters tall. The reason for this impression is that the average height of his Guardsmen was 179.5 centimeters.

Voldemort's attitude became much more arrogant when facing Tom.

He held the wand with his slender fingers and drew an arc in front of himself, "Submit to me, King of Dementors."

Voldemort's scarlet eyes flashed with desire, he desperately needed the power of the dementors.

"I will give the Dementors unimaginable freedom and power. Muggles on the entire continent are free to be hunted by you. I will not take away your power to guard Azkaban."

Tom pretended to think for a moment and gave an answer that made Voldemort very dissatisfied.

"I reject."

"The dementors already have sufficient food sources, and what you promised has no appeal to us. We will not surrender to anyone."

"We will not betray our ancient covenant, and we will obey the orders of the Ministry of Magic. It would be more realistic for you to run for Minister of Magic."

Voldemort understood Tom's words, and while marveling at Tom's coherent thinking, he felt a rage burning in his chest.

You ignorant beast!

Voldemort was extremely angry. He subconsciously wanted to teach Tom a lesson, but Tom retreated into the dementors. It might be difficult to teach their king a lesson through the overlapping dementors.

If we take action, it may not end so well.

Voldemort controlled his emotions and calmed down. He decided to give the herd one last chance.

"We can make a deal. I need to take away a few people. In exchange, I will provide you with ten times the number of human sacrifices."

In Voldemort's view, one for ten, the price he offered was extremely favorable, even though a thousand Muggles could not compare to one loyal servant.

Tom shook his head, "To put people into Azkaban or take people out of Azkaban, you need permission from the Ministry of Magic... If you don't have permission, you'd better leave."

Voldemort was completely angry. He could no longer control the anger in his heart. He found that he was a little too kind, which made these dementors unaware of their power and terror.

Having died once, I have become indecisive. Voldemort reflected on what he had done and came to a conclusion:

It’s still easy to use absolute force!

Without enough force to deter him, even low-level creatures like dementors dared to ignore his good intentions again and again.

If I had beaten them up as soon as I came, I guess the conversation just now would have been much smoother.

After thinking about it, Voldemort no longer hesitated. He waved his wand suddenly, and an afterimage flashed out quickly, and then a big black snake appeared in front of him.

"Expecto Daemonium!"

"What is this?" Tom tried hard to feel the magic cast by Voldemort. He found that the spell used by Voldemort seemed familiar, but also strange.

After a little analysis, he came to a conclusion that was somewhat difficult for him to accept: the thing created by Voldemort was actually the Patronus!

Could Voldemort also use a spell like the Patronus Charm? How could he possibly understand such a spell? Does this spell have anything to do with Voldemort?

Wait, it doesn’t seem to be an orthodox Patronus Charm. The Patronus summoned by the orthodox Patronus Charm can make people feel warmth, joy, love, and the beauty of the world, but the snake-shaped Patronus summoned by Voldemort obviously does not have these effects. It's depraved, it's dirty, it's scary, it's all negative.

Tom gradually understood everything.

I see!

Tom even admired Voldemort because he reversed the Patronus Curse.

The Patronus Charm is the most difficult spell in the magic world. Many ordinary wizards cannot summon it according to standard procedures. Voldemort can actually do the opposite and use various dark emotions to summon the fallen version of the Patronus. It is really a genius.

At this point, Tom also understood that his plan to take advantage of Voldemort's inability to use the Invocation Guard to solve his problem was in vain. According to his original idea, only the Patronus could harm Dementors, and dark wizards who relied too much on black magic could not use the Patronus Curse. Therefore, in front of the dementors, the dark wizard is like a mouse meeting a cat, completely restrained.

You can definitely give it a try and see if Voldemort can be eliminated by the Dementors. If it doesn't work out, you have nothing to lose. If it works out, it's a bloody gain.

Now Voldemort pulled out a reverse Patronus Charm, making Tom's dream come to nothing.

But think about it, if Voldemort was really restrained by the dementors, how could he visit Azkaban alone - at least with two younger brothers as his rearguard. The Patronus Curse exploited positive emotions, while Voldemort exploited negative emotions.

Although Tom Riddle is evil and inhumane, he is not the kind of person who cannot feel happiness. In the original world line, he smiled happily after killing Harry Potter. Tom believed that he could feel happiness at that time.

After casting the spell, Voldemort's expression became even colder. He drove his big snake to rush towards the dementors. The next moment, the layers of dementors were dispersed by Voldemort. The dispersed dementors screamed in pain and hurriedly floated away, exposing Tom.

"Remember, Lord Voldemort's kindness is not unlimited." Voldemort said darkly, driving his "Patronus" to rush towards Tom.

He wanted to teach this guy who overestimated his abilities a lesson.

Suddenly, a silver-white phoenix flew in front of Tom, and collided with Voldemort's snake with a bang, and the two patron saints fought.

"What -?" Voldemort yelled and looked around. Then he took a breath and looked towards the corridor not far away: "Dumbledore!"

"Surprise? Riddle?" Dumbledore stepped out of the dark corridor and stood opposite Voldemort.

Voldemort didn't answer. He raised his hand and a green light went straight to Dumbledore's chest. Dumbledore turned around and dodged Voldemort's killing curse like a gust of wind. The next second, he appeared on Voldemort's left side, waving his wand.

Several phoenixes composed of flames appeared beside him, screaming and rushing towards Voldemort. Voldemort also disappeared, then reappeared in the clearing at the center of Azkaban Prison.

Azkaban Prison stands on an island in the sea, with a triangular shape on the outside and an open space in the center. In other prisons, this kind of open space is used for prisoners to relax. In Azkaban, this is where the remains of dead prisoners are collected.

Voldemort looked up at Dumbledore, who was sitting high up, with a sarcastic expression on his face.

"The crooked nose is quite clever... How could Dumbledore, who likes to peek around with his nose, not extend his tentacles into Azkaban!"

Voldemort was using himself to save others, and Dumbledore really hadn't spied on Azkaban - at least not yet.

"Tom, you can save us a lot of trouble by coming here - this is Azkaban, we can save a few steps." Dumbledore said calmly. He even had the guts to make a little joke.

Voldemort spat on the ground, and then cast a fatal spell in his backhand. However, the distance between the two sides was quite far, so Dumbledore did not move, letting the spell hit his feet.

"I think this is a very suitable place for burying your old bones." Voldemort really didn't want to lose out verbally.

When the two of them fought, Tom returned to his human form, retreated to a corner, and made preparations. As for the group of dementors, they stayed far away. They were frightened by the magic fluctuations caused by the exchange between the two, and did not dare to take a step forward. The prisoners imprisoned in the Azkaban cell were leaning on the iron bars of the cell, waiting eagerly.

Snapped!

With an explosion, Dumbledore's Phoenix Patronus and the serpent summoned by Voldemort exploded together, turning into wisps of black and silver smoke.

They dissipated like flare guns, and both Dumbledore and Voldemort took action at the same time.

Dumbledore gently turned the wand in his hand, and an extremely powerful spell shot out from the tip of the wand. The power of this spell even frightened Tom who stepped aside, his hair standing on end. His instinct told him that this spell was enough to kill him.

In order to resist this spell, Voldemort had no choice but to disperse the attack spell he had prepared, and then conjured up a silver shield and let it come forward to block Dumbledore's spell.

Note.

Note: The incantation for divine protection in the original work is Expecto Patronum, which is a combination of the Latin words "expectation" and "patron saint". Voldemort doesn't need "guarding", he needs a fallen demon, so I changed his spell to Expecto Daemonium, expecting the demon.
