For the first time, old man Lou drew the second sword from its scabbard on his back. With two swords in his hands, five more illusory swords appeared revolving around him.

The demonic cultivators' hearts shudder, as old man Lou took a step before charging towards them.

They were pressured by the killing intent of old man Lou, but they didn’t hesitate to release their attacks. Their Spirit Artifacts shine with dazzling lights as they approached old man Lou.

But these attacks were quickly snuffed out as one of the illusory swords revolving around him slash out.

It cleaved a path through the attacks and shoots towards a demonic cultivator.

Without so much as a scream, that demonic cultivator at the peak of the Core Formation Realm was instantly killed. The attack was so strong that the residue of the attack heavily injure the cultivator immediately behind the one killed.

If the attack hadn't been delayed, giving that demonic cultivator an opportunity to barely dodge that attack, the deep and long sword scar on the ground would have easily sliced him in two instead of just him missing a shoulder.

This attack was infinitesimally close to an early Nascent Realm cultivator.

Seeing how frightening one of these illusory swords were, and that there was four more, retreat immediately filled these demonic cultivators' mind.

But they couldn’t, the four swords were like a formation that trapped them without an exit. The first one who makes a move to charge out would be instantly killed by one of those terrifying swords.

It was like they could only remain in one place and be slaughtered without resistance.

Such an overbearing and deadly Sword Formation was just too terrifying.

But old man Lou after using one of the swords suddenly coughed out a mouth full of blood, and his aura weaken.

He was expending his life force to forcefully use his Sword Formation. This wasn’t even half of what he imagined this Seven Swords of Slaughter Sword Formation could become, but he wanted to go all out and showcase some of its power.

If he knew his disciple, that brat was still nearby watching.

And true to that speculation, Fang Chen was atop a tall tree watching the events unfold. As if he knew what his Master's intentions were, Fang Chen's eyes watered.

The demonic cultivators were not a match for old man Lou. The leader of the group that placed Fang Chen on the wanted list and was only watching on, turns out to be hiding his cultivation and was like old man Lou in the Quasi Nascent Soul Realm.

That demonic cultivator knew with someone like old man Lou would have acted like a rat cornered and carryout out his deadly move on his last breath. So he was cautious to have his subordinates take the full brunt of the attacks while he burst out with his cultivation and dealt the finishing blow.

But who would have thought old man Lou’s last attacks would be so terrifying? He immediately slaughtered everyone, and even when the demonic cultivator burst out with his cultivation, he was no different from his subordinates. He was squashed like an ant.

He could only die while filled with regret.

Old man Lou collapsed on the ground, his life flickering almost about to extinguish.

But even as death near his doorstep, a warm smile was plastered on his. He was recalling Fang Chen’s declaration, and with his determination, old man Lou didn’t doubt for a second he wouldn’t be able to do as he said.

However, tears could be seen falling from the corners of old man Lou’s eyes. He knew that was the last time he would ever here Fang Chen called him Master, and something about that made sorrow filled his entire being.

With a final exhale, old man Lou drew his last breath.

Fang Chen wanted to head back to the battlefield to see his Master, but he shook his head and instead jump down the tree.

He then hurriedly run deeper into the forest. He knew the chase was over since they had managed to kill his Master.

But something was still eating at him and telling him to quickly escape.

Indeed, old man Lou thought that maybe after his death, the Demonic Cult wouldn’t chase after Fang Chen, but who would have thought that the leader previously had put his name and description on the wanted list of the Demonic Cult?

Even though it was only on the lower-tier list and not on the higher-tier list, there was no shortage of demonic cultivators who was going to let such an opportunity to get such easy rewards go. Especially when resources among them were so scarce.

This was practically a godsend opportunity.

As Fang Chen followed his instincts and run nonstop towards the Celestial Academy just beyond this forest, a voice suddenly echoed in his mind.

“Wake up already!”

The voice was faint, but as it grew louder, it caused Fang Chen to hold his head in pain.

“This stupid brat, if you continue and…”

The voice soon trailed off, and Fang Chen could finally relax. However, as he raised his head, he was instantly shocked.

The forest he was in was gone, and what replaced the environment was tall skyscrapers with gigantic and vicious-looking beasts roaming the sky.

“Beep!!”

Fang Chen suddenly heard a loud noise and he turned to see a strange vehicle headed towards him at full speed.

It was too fast, Fang Chen could only cover his face with his hands and prepared to be hit.

However, it never came.

The hovering car only went right through him and almost hit a pedestrian crossing the road, who the horn was meant for.

Strange language could be heard coming from this pedestrian as he yelled at the car.

Fang Chen stared at this scene in shock. He didn’t know where he was or what was going on.

Looking at that pedestrian and the people around him he was startled. They were wearing clothes he was very familiar with, but they obviously weren’t human people.

Their face had reptilian nose and their ears were pointed. They even had large tails hanging from their back.

Another glaring feature was that a horn was protruding from the side of their heads, while their skins were filled with black scales. Their pupils were red, completing their fierce look.

Fang Chen could also see a weird semi-circle on their foreheads that looked like a halfmoon.

There were other people that had completely different looks, but the majority of the people he saw were these reptilian people.

Still feeling overwhelmed by all this, Fang Chen retreated cautiously. He soon came face to face with a building that had a reflective glass.

Fang Chen looked and saw his appearance.

He was in black robes and was older in appearance than his twelve-year-old self. But what surprised him the most was that there was a small vertical line on his forehead.

“Bastard, you dare steal from us? Fuck you!”

For some reason, Fang Chen could now understand what these people were saying.

The voice from the alleyway drew his attention, and Fang Chen took a look. He saw three of the reptilian-looking people stomping and kicking a child, that seemed to be of a different race than them.

He had human-like features like the reptilian people, but those features lean more closely to that of a tiger than a human, with even black fur covering his body.

Crack

Crack

Sickening cracks rang out as the men stomped on the child’s leg and arms viciously.

It was obvious these grown adults were trying to cripple the boy.

Fang Chen instinctively moved to stop these people, his heart burning with anger.

How could they treat a child like that? From the small metal object in the child's hands, it seemed like he had taken something from them. But was it necessary to be beating the kid so cruelly?

Fang Chen wasn’t a saint by any means, but after reliving the incident where his Master was killed because of heartless people. Fang Chen had inadvertently projected those feeling onto these adults.

However, before he could reach the group, the voice that disappeared appeared once more.

“That’s enough!”

The voice yelled irritatingly like he had enough of watching what was going on.

Immediately as the voice echoed out, the image of the child being beaten in front of Fang Chen shattered like glass, along with everything around him. Afterwards, the shattered space began to reform.

Fang Chen looked around to see that he was in an expansive void.

In front of him lay a monstrosity of a beast, that took up his entire view. Two horns protruded from his head and its fur despite being black, still stood out in this dark void.

The vertical red pupils of this beast stared at Fang Chen with anger and displeasure.

Having such a beast staring at him like that should have made Fang Chen cower in fear, but he got the feeling that this beast could not harm him even if it wanted to.

Seeing his unafraid expression, Mo Rong snorted and then turned his head away from Fang Chen.

“Were those your memories?”

Fang Chen asked.
