#45 - Chapter 8: A Life of Cheating
Liu Yuan walked slowly on the streets of the old town, which seemed particularly deserted compared to the past. The vagrants and outlaws who once filled the streets and alleys had all joined the Southern Territory army in search of a stable livelihood. This significantly improved the city's public safety, but it also brought some trouble to Liu Yuan—he could no longer easily catch robbers and had to end his hunting operation.
Soon after, Liu Yuan arrived at the rental house on Elm Street. Yashara successfully gave birth to a baby girl and named her Jialin. Although Liu Yuan originally planned for Yashara to have a confinement period, because Yashara was young and emotionally low, if she couldn't take good care of her body, she might have health problems later. Therefore, he finally decided to respect her wishes.
When Liu Yuan stepped into the room, Yashara gently put down the child in her arms and said to him in a firm tone: "Garon, you've come at the right time. I have something to tell you."
Liu Yuan walked to the crib and sat down, carefully picking up the child. His movements were skilled and gentle, as if he was already used to such a scene. In fact, he had always loved children, especially cute little padded jackets(小棉袄: a term of endearment for a daughter) like Jialin. He said to Yashara: "What's the matter? Tell me!"
Yashara hesitated and said: "It's like this, I have contacted my family. Uncle Dijia hopes I can go back."
Liu Yuan said: "What are you planning to do? Are you taking the child back with you?"
Yashara: "Yes, you know that in our Dorne, this child will not be discriminated against, and the family agrees to let her be named Dayne."
Liu Yuan: "Okay! The army just passed by. The outlaws along the way have been wiped out, so there shouldn't be any danger. Starfall City should send someone to pick you up. Is there anything else I need to do for you?"
Yashara shook her head: "I've troubled you a lot during this time. Without your help, I really don't know what to do! As for the money, I will pay you back..." She was a little embarrassed.
Liu Yuan said: "As long as you're happy. I have exams recently, so I might not have time to come here. Just settle Aunt Nellie when you leave, and leave the house as it is! The landlord will take care of it when the lease expires." He didn't care. He already owed a favor, and Eddard Stark will definitely repay him in the future.
A few days later, Yashara Dayne left. Five family guards from Starfall City took her and her daughter away. They traveled by sea, directly to Starfall City in Dorne. One of the people who came, a young knight named Jello, seemed to be from a branch of the Dayne family. He arrogantly threw a money bag to Liu Yuan: "Your behavior deserves a reward. This is your reward for helping the Dayne family!"
Liu Yuan hefted the money bag. He could feel that there were gold dragons inside, about thirty of them. No one would dislike having too much money, so he casually stuffed it into his pocket. He ignored the guards, waved goodbye to Yashara, and then left the port without looking back.

The Usurper's War officially broke out, and the rebels elected Robert Baratheon, who had Targaryen blood, as their leader. Jon Arryn initially only intended to drive Iris II off the throne out of self-preservation. He wanted to replace him with a king with a normal brain and had no intention of overthrowing the Targaryen dynasty.
He understood that the top priority was to send Robert Baratheon back to Storm's End as soon as possible to gather his vassals and form an army. Eddard's return journey was relatively safe, and he had already returned to Winterfell. He is currently leading troops south and is estimated to be near the Neck.
However, Robert's sea route south had been blocked. It turned out that the Vale was not a monolith either, and there were still some lords who supported the Targaryens. For example, the Earl of Gulltown, who was now gathering an army. He blocked the port and controlled the ships that docked. So, Robert and Jon Arryn had no choice but to lead their troops to attack Gulltown first.
Gulltown is the main port of the Vale. It is located southeast of the Eyrie, on the edge of Crabs Bay, a natural harbor south of Runestone, and is currently ruled by the Graffson family.
Gulltown is also one of the five major cities on the continent of Westeros, and its scale is comparable to that of White Harbor. In addition to the lord's Graffson family, the nobles of Gulltown also include the Shett family and a branch of the Arryn family, the Arryn family of Gulltown. Many extremely wealthy merchants live in the city, and some Vale nobles will marry them for money. Among the garrison troops gathered in Gulltown this time, many were mercenaries hired by the wealthy merchants.
In this battle, the court army did not have an advantage in terms of numbers or sound quality. Robert used practical actions to prove that he was a fearless warrior. He took the lead and personally charged, leading the soldiers over the walls of Gulltown. He killed dozens of blocking soldiers in a row, and finally hammered Earl Graffson to death on the city楼(城楼: city tower). With the death of the leader, the remaining soldiers lost their morale, and the rebel army took the port in by the way.
Afterwards, Robert quickly set off from Gulltown, risking capture by the royal fleet, and secretly returned to his main city, Storm's End. By the way, he recovered a great general. Sir Lynn Corbray from New Barrel, he was conquered by Robert's charm and then worshipped.
However, Robert's age and prestige were not enough to convince the public, let alone this kind of rebel thing. Not all Stormland lords responded to his call. Soon, three lords, the Fell family, the Cafferen family, and the Grandison family, declared that the family of the then kingdom prime minister Owen Marryweather has been called to arms against Robert, and their troops are gathering towards Summerhall and advancing towards Storm's End in an attempt to block Robert.
After learning of this news, the fearless Robert led his troops towards Summerhall, rushing ahead of them all the way. So, after the Battle of Gulltown, Robert began his glorious personal show again, where he defeated the three earls in front of the ruins of Summerhall.
Robert led his army with superior forces and defeated the three rebel lords one by one. Except for killing the Earl of Fell family, who was the first to meet when he was in a hurry, he tried his best to capture the others alive. In just one day, he won three battles in a row, beat the royalist army abandoning armor. Except for those killed by him, the rest were captured and escorted back to Storm's End. The young Robert proved his bravery to the world.
At the subsequent celebration banquet, Robert showed his strong personal charm again. He not only did not humiliate the defeated generals, but also drank and had fun with them without any hostility. So, after witnessing Robert's combat strength and tolerant heart, the three rebellious earls finally completely bowed their heads and joined the rebel army, including the new Earl of Fell, who had just lost his father.
