The Legend of Harry Potter Schoolmaster
Chapter 11 Arrival at Hogwarts
"Oh...oh...oh..."
Jon woke up from his slumber with the screeching alarm clock.
It was 7:10pm GMT, and it was almost completely dark, and Jon quickly took out the black robes of Hogwarts from his suitcase and passed it to him.
"The train will arrive at Hogwarts in five minutes. Please leave your luggage on the train and we will take you to school." A voice echoed on the train.
This is good news, I don't need to carry such a heavy salute to go to school.
The train slowed down and finally stopped.
Jon squeezed to the exit, and the passengers shoved and shoved to the door, onto a dark, small platform.
"First-year freshmen! First-year freshmen come here!" A loud voice came from the front.
Jon saw a burly man standing out in the crowd. His face was almost completely obscured by his long tousled hair and tangled bushy beard, but his black beetle-like eyes could still be seen gleaming under his hair.
"I'm Hagrid, Rubeus-Hagrid, the key-keeper and gamekeeper at Hogwarts!" Above the crowded crowd, the burly man with the bearded face smiled. : "Come on, come with me, are there any freshmen?
"Watch out for your feet, alright! First-year freshmen come with me!"
Although most of the first-year freshmen followed behind Hagrid, they kept a certain distance from Hagrid because of his huge body and fierce face.
Jon followed Hagrid without any scruples. He knew very well that Hagrid, although he looked fierce, was in fact a downright good person.
Next to Jon was a very strange girl with disheveled waist-length white hair, very pale eyebrows and bulging eyes.
"It's an amazing journey, isn't it?" she sighed with intoxication.
"Yeah!" Jon nodded, though he didn't know where the magic was.
They slipped and stumbled after Hagrid, as if going down a steep, narrow path.
"Cut this corner and you're about to see Hogwarts for the first time," Hagrid called back.
At the end of the narrow path, a black lake suddenly unfolded, which almost made everyone gasp in amazement, even Jon, who was mentally prepared.
"There, that's Hogwarts!" Hagrid called, pointing to the other side of the lake.
On the high hillside on the other side of the lake stands a majestic castle with spires and windows twinkling under the stars.
"No more than four people per boat!" cried Hagrid, pointing to a line of boats moored on the shore.
Jon boarded one of the boats, as did the weird white-haired girl, and two strange little boys.
"Are they all on board?" cried Hagrid, who was in a boat by himself. , "That's good to move forward!" A group of boats immediately sailed forward across the lake with waves as flat as a mirror.
It was probably a rite of passage for new Hogwarts, Jon thought to himself as he rowed the oars.
The four founders of Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw and Slytherin came to Hogwarts by driving a boat; so every new Hogwarts freshman has to go again This way again.
The boat carried them through the ivy curtains that covered the cliffs to the hidden open entrance.
They followed what seemed to be a dark tunnel to the base of the castle, eventually reaching what looked like a subterranean pier, and then climbing up a ground of rubble and small pebbles.
Under the light of the Hagrid's lamp, they climbed a flight of stone steps and gathered before a huge oak door.
Hagrid raised a worn pink umbrella and knocked three times on the castle gate.
...
The door was quickly opened.
"Welcome to Hogwarts!" Hagrid smiled and winked at the little wizards behind him, and he continued on ahead.
In front of them was a stone wall surrounded by flaming torches; the ceiling was barely visible; on the front was a grand marble staircase leading upstairs.
"Jon!" A small hand pulled the robe behind LaJon.
"What's the matter?" Hearing the familiar voice, Jon turned around and said calmly, "Miss Greengrass!"
Under the light of the torch, Astoria Greengrass's face was paler than it was during the day.
Hearing that blunt address, her hand seemed to tremble slightly.
Astoria said softly, "Daphne...she really is...she didn't mean to call you Mudblood, she just..."
"Just lip-synching?" Jon's voice lacked the slightest sympathy: "Perhaps you call us that every day at home, and today you're just angry and accidentally lip-synching in front of people?"
"No...no..."
Astoria still wanted to distinguish something.
Hagrid shouted from the front, interrupting the conversation between them:
"Professor Snape, why are you here?"
A middle-aged man with greasy black hair, an aquiline nose, and sallow skin came through from a cabin on the slope.
Jon suddenly felt Professor Severus Snape's gaze fixed on him, and quickly lowered his head.
He just came through a door very close to where he was, and he may even have heard the conversation between himself and Astoria.
Severus Snape stopped less than a yard away from Jon, and said slowly: "I heard from Barrow that an extremely precious hitting willow tree seems to have been injured by something. I'm getting ready to go check it out!"
"Okay!" Hagrid nodded. "I'm sending freshmen to the sorting ceremony!"
After that, Hagrid moved on, and Jon hurriedly followed with his head down.
Whether it was an illusion or not, he felt that Snape's eyes had been staring at the back of his head until he left his sight.
Hagrid took them to a small empty room. The little wizards swarmed in, rubbing shoulders together, staring nervously at everything around them.
Professor Minerva McGonagall, wearing an emerald robe, was waiting for them here.
"First-year freshman, Professor McGonagall!" said Hagrid.
"Thank you, Hagrid. Leave it to me now."
