Hearing what Daphne Greengrass said, Jon wanted to refuse.

However, he did not know the password needed to gain access to the Slytherin common room.

And as a freshman arriving at Hogwarts for the first time, he shouldn't know where the Slytherin common room is.

In desperation, Jon had no choice but to follow behind Daphne, and together they came to the exit between the hall and the basement...then they walked down the stone steps step by step and entered the corridor of the basement.

The light in the basement was very dim, and there was only a torch on the wall at a distance of more than ten yards.

A gleam of light emerged from the end of Daphne's wand, guiding the way ahead.

The corridor is a bit empty, but slightly gloomy footsteps can be heard from time to time.

"This way!" Every time she passed a fork in the road, Daphne would stop and show Jon the way.

Other than that, they barely communicated at all.

...

After a few minutes, they stopped beside an empty, damp stone wall.

On the stone wall, a stone gate appeared. A big snake was painted on the stone gate, and the snake's mouth bit its tail.

Facing the stone gate, Daphne Greengrass said softly, "Blood is thicker than blood."

The stone door hidden in the stone wall slowly opened with the password.

"The password is changed every two weeks, pay attention to the bulletin board, it will be updated in time." Daphne said softly, and then she walked into the front basement first.

This is a translucent lounge located at the bottom of the lake. The walls on both sides are made of black Gothic marble, and the ceiling is a transparent semicircle carved by crystal. You can see the sparkling waves on the ceiling when you look up.

At the same time, the green light was tied with a chain, and it was hung down, illuminating the entire basement.

Just walking into the basement, a beautifully carved fireplace is greeted by the curtain.

Under the fireplace, a crackling fire was burning, surrounded by a few Slytherin students.

"Just wait there!" Daphne pointed to the empty chairs by the fireplace, and said, "The prefects will take you to your dormitory when they come back later."

After finishing speaking, she strode towards a door on the other side of the basement, with a silver curtain over the door...

Through the curtain, Daphne disappeared.

...

Looking around curiously, Jon found a seat by the fireplace and sat down.

These fireside chairs all have a low slope for a comfortable reclining...

Jon looked up at the ceiling and saw a giant squid floating slowly above the ceiling.

Seeing the squid's two dark eyes and slightly ferocious mouthparts so clearly from below, Jon was almost taken aback.

A Slytherin girl on the side giggled.

"I heard that Durmstrang's castle was also built underwater?" She sat on the seat in front of Jon and asked with a smile.

"Yeah... But we don't have squid and octopus like this, but there are quite a few whales!" Jon forcefully explained: "So I was almost scared just now!"

Fortunately, the other party did not have any doubts.

"Selwyn!" The girl, who was about the same age as Jon, stretched out a hand to him: "Tiffany-Selwyn!"

Of course Jon knew who she was, after all, he had been a classmate with her for three years, although not from the same academy.

"Christopher Patrick!" Shaking her hand, Jon introduced himself.

"I know." Selwyn nodded, and then asked curiously, "Are you from Austria?"

"Yes." Jon replied bravely, "I was born in Linz, Austria..."

"My grandmother is also from Austria. She came to England when she was twenty, and then..." Selwyn said with a smile.

"Ouch..." Jon suddenly covered his stomach with a pained expression on his face.

"Hey, what's wrong with you?" Selwyn asked with concern.

"It seems that I have some diarrhea..." Jon said with a struggling face: "I may not be used to the food at Hogwarts! Excuse me, do you know where the bathroom is?"

Tiffany Selwyn frowned, but she stood up and pointed out the bathroom to Jon.

...

After finally hiding in the bathroom, Jon couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief.

Fortunately, I was smart enough to find an excuse temporarily!

Otherwise, what if the girl learned a few words of German from her grandmother, and then had a few words with herself... Isn't everything revealed?

Except for the sentence "I'm alone", Jon doesn't know any German... So he has made up his mind, unless he confirms that Selwyn can't speak a word of German, otherwise he will stay away from her in the future...

After huddling in the bathroom for a long time, Jon only walked out when there was a commotion in the common room.

Sure enough, it was the two new prefects, Draco Malfoy and Pansy Parkinson, who returned with the freshmen.

"Christopher!" Malfoy led a group of first-year students arrogantly, and after seeing Jon, he waved to him.

"That... Draco..." Jon walked over and asked Malfoy, "I still don't know which bedroom I should be in?"

"Your dorm... I almost forgot!" Malfoy suddenly realized, "You should be in the same dormitory as Avery!"

"Come with me!" Malfoy threw the first years into Pansy Parkinson, and motioned for Jon to follow him.

Following Malfoy's footsteps, Jon walked through the silver-curtained door... After a few turns, he came to a spacious room.

There were already three boys inside, two of whom were already lying on the bed; the other stood up friendly and greeted Malfoy and Jon.

Jon recognized him, he was Sean Avery... His name was the first thing the Sorting Hat called out at the sorting ceremony when he was first admitted three years ago.

There were four beds in the bedroom, one of which was empty, and Jon's luggage was placed next to this bed.

It was a traditional four-poster bed with green silk draperies and silver thread embroidery on the bedspread.

Medieval-style tapestries hang on the side wall, and several silver lanterns hang from the upper ceiling.

Malfoy told Jon a few things to note about Hogwarts, and then left.

...

Jon Hart was lying on the bed, covered with a silver blanket.

A lot of things came to my mind, but I quickly put them all behind me.

She slept peacefully listening to the gentle waves of the lake bottom beating against the window outside the window.

I recommend Xia Huaniang's new book "I'm Really Immortal".

The best immortality essay I have ever seen written.

Already 1.5 million words, it can be slaughtered... Interested readers can go and have a look.
