The Legend of Harry Potter Schoolmaster
Chapter 314 Minister Burns
The Leaky Cauldron at the end of June was not much different from usual.
At least that was the case with old Tom Abbott.
Except a week ago, a few staff members of the Ministry of Magic came here and posted a notice at the door of the Leaky Cauldron:
"The devil who can't even mention his name is back!"
There is a bunch of blah blah content below, to the effect that at least fifty witnesses in the Department of Mysteries of the Ministry of Magic witnessed the return of the mysterious man... The Ministry of Magic issued a warning to all wizards, beware of attacks by black wizards and black magic in the near future ...
Among other things, Old Tom received a stack of purple pamphlets with bold text:
"Published under the authority of the Ministry of Magic - Protect your home and family from the dark arts!"
Every time a new visitor came to the Leaky Cauldron, Tom was required to send him a copy of this booklet.
...
All this caused a lot of panic at first. Those witches and wizards who lived in the Leaky Cauldron hurried to find Old Tom to check out, and then fled London in a panic...Diagon Alley also fell into a short "several days" depression" time
The old Mr. Aibo also closed the bar for a while, and took his granddaughter back to his hometown to spend his old age...
But a week later, everything became calm again...
In the "Daily Prophet", you can see "exciting" news every day——
From the earliest "The Wizengamot Sentenced Lucius Malfoy, Bellatrix Lestrange and Twelve Death Eaters to Life Imprisonment"...
...to "Aurors capture Death Eaters Labastan Lestrange and Evan Rozier"...
...and then "The Aurors found traces of a mysterious man in a small Muggle village in the southwest of Merseyside, and the mysterious man should be fleeing towards Scotland..."
There were no dark wizards, no attacks, not even a wounded Muggle; one or two Death Eaters were arrested every day, and the Mysterious Man was driven by Aurors to run around the UK; During that horrible period, everything seemed to be the opposite.
When the wizards realized that their personal safety was guaranteed, they returned to Diagon Alley one after another...
The business of the Leaky Cauldron is booming day by day, and old Tom has given up the idea of going back to his hometown to spend his old age. He also plans to help his granddaughter save some dowry while he is still young.
As for those purple booklets, out of commitment to the Ministry of Magic, Old Tom distributed them to every passenger who passed by.
Usually, though, it can be seen in the trash bin at the door of Diagon Alley a few minutes after it has been issued to a traveler.
...
There was another "bang".
A middle-aged witch wearing a scarf, before stepping into Diagon Alley, casually threw the purple booklet, the Anti-Dark Arts Guide provided by the Ministry of Magic, into the trash can at the entrance of Diagon Alley.
In addition to this newly thrown book, there are already seven or eight brand new books lying in the trash can...
And a scrunched up copy of the Daily Prophet.
You can vaguely see the content of the headlines in the newspaper:
"Cornel Fudge announces his resignation as Minister for Magic."
"Over the past week, our former minister, Mr. Cornelius Fudge, has suffered a lot of opposition and doubts... After shutting himself in the minister's office and holding on in silence for nearly a week, at 9 o'clock last night, Mr. Fudge An application for resignation was submitted to the Legal Enforcement Division.
It is known that Fudge has sent 200 owls to send a message to Hogwarts principal Albus Dumbledore in the past week; but judging from the final outcome, Professor Dumbledore seems to have ignored Mr. Fudge help.
When he was interviewed by this newspaper and asked what he thought about this matter... Mr. Cornelius Fudge said with a bitter face: 'I have been in office for so many years, and this is the first time I have seen you all so united on one matter. '"
...
Also on the front page of the Daily Prophet, immediately following the previous news item, is a photo of a stern, square-jawed, gray-haired man wearing a monocle. witch.
"Mrs Amelia Burns announces she will take up the post of Minister for Magic."
"The appointment of Lady Amelia Burns, former Head of the Ministry of Magic's Law Enforcement Department, to replace Cornelius Fudge as Minister for Magic, has been widely and enthusiastically welcomed by the wizarding community...
Mrs. Burns's father, mother and brother all died tragically at the hands of You-Know-Who and Death Eaters during the First Wizarding War; there is no doubt that her anger and hatred will be a sharp sword against the Dark Arts ...
In her speech last night Mrs Burns mentioned that the Ministry of Magic had taken some tough new measures to keep Death Eaters out of normal wizarding areas.
In addition, Rufus Scrimgeour, the former director of the Auror Office, will succeed Mrs. Amelia Bones as the Director of the Department of Law Enforcement of the Ministry of Magic; Devin Robards will be the head of the Auror Office. "
...
Other news in the newspapers are basically covered by garbage, and some of them cannot be seen clearly.
Except in a small corner of the third edition, a picture of a toad-like witch can be vaguely seen.
"Ms Dolores Umbridge has been relieved of her duties as Senior Undersecretary for Magic and Senior Inspector of Hogwarts."
"Minister Burns's first personnel appointment after taking office was to dismiss Dolores Umbridge, the former Senior Undersecretary of the Ministry of Magic, from all positions in the Ministry of Magic and Hogwarts.
But Ms. Umbridge refused to be interviewed by this newspaper... According to the grapevine, she is receiving psychological treatment at St. Mungo's Hospital. "
...
Old Mr. Tom Abbott walked over slowly, he waved his wand at the trash can, and cleaned up all the books, newspapers and other rubbish inside.
At the same time, he carefully moved the trash can to its proper position... the place on the lower right side of the brick that opened Diagon Alley.
"I don't know which troublemaker did it again..." Old Tom muttered, "Is it fun to prevent people from entering Diagon Alley?"
After all this was done, he started back to the bar, because he heard someone calling him over there.
It is a wizard in a black robe and a hood, which looks like a living crow.
"Would you like a drink, or stay at the hotel?" Old Tom asked lazily.
"Stay here." The black-robed wizard's voice sounded very young.
"Five Sickles a night, or nine Sickles if meals are provided... Oh, and you have to take this, for free!"
As he spoke, Old Tom took out a purple booklet - the anti-dark magic guide provided by the Ministry of Magic, and threw it to the black-robed wizard in front of him.
In the original book, Amelia Bones was killed by Voldemort before the first chapter of the sixth book, otherwise she should have taken over the minister's position, not Scrimgeour.
