I used to envy those authors who could write long novels and draw long comics.

I envy them for being able to construct a fantasy world of their own.

However, after many attempts, I have to sigh that I may not be able to write long works, at least not yet.

The reason why I say this is that I spent some time thinking carefully about whether writing books is a pleasure or a burden for me.

In the end, my conclusion is that I am still very happy to simply share an idea in my mind.

But long-term daily updates make me very painful.

My family asked me why I wrote so long before, why not just 100,000 words to finish the book?

I explained to my family that Qidian.com only started charging for more than 100,000 words.

But I have to admit that what my family said is right.

Maybe because I am an idea-based author, long serialization is a burden for me. It will consume the initial passion in daily updates day after day.

Moreover, long serialization will make my brain muddy and slowly forget what is interesting.

So, I made a decision, starting from the next book, to try to shorten the length of each book, and to indicate that it is a short story from the beginning.

I think more than 300,000 words is enough, and it will be finished in more than two months, so I won’t be too bored, and I can also get stable recommendations after the first release. If Qidian hadn’t released it late, I would have wanted to shorten the length even more.

If the response is good, and I really want to make this book longer, then I can definitely open a "second part". Take a break for one or two months between the two parts.

Just like the model of physical books and movie trilogies/n-parts, if one part is well received, you can take a break in the middle to organize the outline and ideas, and you don’t have to keep serializing to avoid brain fog.

The only drawback is that it affects subscription income. But it’s not a big problem. Compared with writing a novel of 10 million words and more than 300,000 words, the proportion of paid chapters is only 50% higher. If you choose the right or wrong subject, the subscription may be several times different.

Of course, this is just a very superficial idea, and it is different from the usual model of Qidian. I don’t know if it will work, so let’s just decide it this way for now.

If we can really make a name for ourselves, it will be considered a model innovation at the starting point.
