The Natural Empire of the Oceanic Dragon

#207 - Congratulations, you're going to be a dad!

Attilan looked at the infant Loki in his claws and had a sudden idea. He used his mental power to scan the relatively intact tents in the camp and, as expected, found several other frost giant infants.

But unfortunately, apart from Loki in his hands, the other infants no longer had any signs of life. There were seven infants in total, all of whom looked stronger than Loki.

Perhaps they were unlucky; the weak Loki survived, but they unfortunately died in this temporary camp.

It's a pity. If they were all alive, twenty years later, Attilan would have a frost giant army of his own.

Now, he can only hope that the remaining two frost giant camps offer an opportunity to capture dozens of living frost giant infants after defeating the frost giants.

In the distant past, giants and dragons once fought for supremacy in one material plane after another. Although it was metal dragons and chromatic dragons that participated in the war at that time.

But dragons are dragons. The giants who remember this hatred will never surrender to the dragons. Such an act of betraying their race is likely only possible for the barbaric frost giants and the foolish hill giants.

Just like among dragons, only the foolish white dragons are tamed by the frost giants who also live in the icy and snowy lands, and only white dragon whelps, or even white dragon eggs picked up by the frost giants, are tamed.

Therefore, if Attilan wants to tame giants, it's best to start with giant infants, and he can't let the infants meet their parents. It's best to change the appearance of the frost giants as well.

Attilan plans to start with Loki, using his transformation technique developed based on his control over life, to transform the weak frost giant infant into a highland human with frost titan blood!

If they break through Attilan's crude transformation and restore their original frost giant bodies, it will become activating the frost titan bloodline in Attilan's words!

The art of language is sometimes so wonderful.

Although the time it takes for a frost giant to grow is not as long as that of a dragon, which requires fifty years, it still takes twenty years to obtain a young giant as combat power.

The frost giants that Attilan killed using guerrilla tactics were actually young and juvenile giants. Those who survived were generally adult and prime frost giants with skilled combat techniques.

Attilan once underwent long-term elemental sealing from the old urchin in order to hone his water element control, and he deeply understood the entire process of elemental sealing.

He also asked the old urchin about the principles and usage techniques of elemental sealing. Sealing an infant is a piece of cake for Attilan.

If this Loki dies, it just means he's not tough enough. Just replace him with another one.

With thousands of energetic frost giants gathered together, Attilan doesn't believe they can't produce dozens or hundreds of infants.

Along the way, the frost giants have broken through four or five dwarf cities and towns. If they were the resource-poor frost giants of the past, the plundered materials would definitely not be enough to fill their stomachs.

But this group of frost giants is obviously attacking the dwarves after eating their fill. With the addition of this batch of materials obtained from the dwarves, they will definitely have enough to eat and think about other things.

In the days that followed, Attilan, apart from paying attention to the changes in the war situation, spent the rest of his time either cultivating or thinking about how to transform Loki.

He wants to seal Loki's frost bloodline, but also hopes that this bloodline can help Loki grow quickly, preferably turning the frost giant bloodline into a transformation skill similar to the dwarves' Divine Descent.

Loki's body is indeed a bit too weak. He actually got sick from just being fed paste. As a frost giant, and with only half of his frost bloodline sealed by Attilan's crude sealing technique.

He actually caught a cold because of the cold temperature!

Even frost giants can catch colds. No wonder he was lucky enough to survive the dwarves' harassment, but was still abandoned.

What can Attilan do?

It's not easy to get such a research subject, and he can't let him die.

Actually, it was Attilan's negligence, but there was nothing he could do about it. He is now a dragon, and his physical reaction to the surrounding environment is completely different from that of humans. The dwarves may feel that the surrounding cold wind is a bit chilly.

But Attilan feels as comfortable as if he were blowing on air conditioning in the middle of summer.

Ice and water share the same origin. Attilan can also obtain a lot of nourishment from the abundant ice element energy of the snow peaks. For example, his ice cone technique progresses faster on the snow peaks than when he is cultivating in Moon Shadow Lake.

Since this little guy's body is so poor and he can't adapt to the snowy peak environment, Attilan can only send him back to the forest to be placed.

There's no one here to take care of him intimately, and Attilan doesn't like staying in the tent all the time. Moreover, Attilan is so big, and the tent built by the centaurs' crude technology is already generously described as drafty on all sides.

If Attilan didn't know a couple of healing spells, the little guy would probably be dead.

The dwarves and frost giants have a deep blood feud. It would be good if they didn't kill the frost giant infant Loki, and naturally they wouldn't take care of him.

The elves are guest troops. They are good at commanding battles, but asking them to take care of a baby would probably be considered an insult.

The centaurs can't even take care of their own infants properly.

Even with Attilan and the druids intervening, the survival rate of centaur infants has not exceeded 80%. Many centaurs who are first-time parents.

Watch their children lie quietly on the grass mat and say that the children are well-behaved, and don't cry or make noise today. As a result, either the children are starving or they are sick and have no strength to cry.

Attilan scolded Old Blind for these problems. He actually said that all centaur tribes have come this way, and through this method, the heavens will help them select healthy infants.

Old Blind believes that the centaurs only need to keep the infants who are suitable to become warriors. Attilan doesn't think so. He believes that they should try to increase the survival rate of all races under his command.

Even if they can't become warriors, the kingdom still needs manpower for many life professions: farmers, herdsmen, fishermen, cooks, merchants, blacksmiths, and the number of people in each life profession is not enough.

Of course, Attilan hopes that the number of warriors is as high as possible, but the kingdom does not have the ability to support 100,000 soldiers.

With these life professions, the Atlantis Kingdom can maintain normal blood production capabilities.

Three more days passed, and Attilan barely managed to keep Loki alive. At least he wouldn't die so easily.

The Dwarf King rushed into Attilan's tent with a worried look on his face.

"Dragon Lord, are we just going to keep fighting the frost giants like this?"

Attilan sighed and looked at the Dwarf King, asking:

"Then what good idea do you have? The dwarves who hide in the mines can still live, but if they come out and fight the fully armed giants head-on, do you think we can win?"

"Did you send people to explore the situation of the frost giants and fire giants' residences? Has any news come back?"

The Dwarf King shook his head.

"Either they haven't returned yet, or those who have returned haven't found anything. The frost giant elders and children who should have been there are gone, and no traces of giant activity can be found."

"It seems that there are more animals active in that area. They said they saw a lot of mammoths and woolly pigs. If the frost giants were hunting them, it wouldn't be possible for them to be so numerous."

Attilan took a deep breath. If the elders and children are gone, where did these thousand frost giants who are fighting them come from?

Attilan thinks there is a big problem here.

"Dwarf King, hold on for now and follow the plan I made. Anyway, the dwarves in the next few cities have already moved away. If it really doesn't work, let the dwarves who have nowhere to live move to Water Cell Town temporarily."

"The environment there has changed a lot now. It just so happens that I lack manpower to develop the land in Water Cell Town. With some dwarves, the construction of Water Cell Town can be faster."

The Dwarf King showed a grateful smile.

"That's really too grateful. Indeed, there are nearly three thousand dwarves who can't find a suitable place to settle down. I now plan to transfer the dwarf civilians trapped on the battlefield by digging tunnels."

"After they come out, can they all be placed in Water Cell Town?"

Attilan's mouth twitched. Although he did have designs on the dwarves' craftsmanship, that statement was mostly polite, as the dwarves didn't have enough food to feed the refugees.

As if he did.

Even so, facing the simple-minded Dwarf King, he forced a smile.

"I wonder how many dwarves in total need resettlement?"

The Dwarf King chuckled with simple honesty, scratching his head as he said:

"Not many. In total, it's less than ten thousand, maybe eight thousand, nine thousand at most!"

The Dwarf Kingdom's population was less than one hundred thousand. The Dwarf King wanted to send one-tenth of the population abroad in one go, and to Water Cellar Town. Wasn't the Dwarf King worried that they wouldn't return in the future?

Attilan thought about it. If he gritted his teeth and swallowed these eight thousand dwarves, the kingdom wouldn't have to worry about tools. Dwarves weren't just blacksmiths; they could also do carpentry and masonry.

They could even gather intelligence. Dwarves could play a significant role, and no human lord would be unwelcoming to a dwarven craftsman settling in their territory.

It's just that dwarves generally don't do work that would damage their race's reputation. Many dwarves live by selling their craftsmanship. If their reputation stinks, they won't earn money.

"Eight thousand is still too many. I can only take in three thousand for now, unless the elves' grain arrives, but right now, the flow rate of several rivers in Atlantis connecting to the Water Elf Kingdom has increased significantly due to the swamp dragons."

"Transporting grain upstream from the Water Elf Kingdom might not be easy. Have you sent people to the Halfling Town to ask how much grain you can buy?"

The Dwarf King said distressfully:

"The price of grain in Halfling Town is rising. Just buying the grain quota for peacetime has used up this year's finances, let alone supplying grain to the refugees."

"I don't understand. The halflings have expanded the planting area of grain in the past two years, so why is the price of grain still rising?"

The Dwarf King's simple mind would never understand that prices aren't based on production but on demand. When the demand for grain is high, the price naturally becomes expensive.

The rise in grain prices was naturally fueled by Attilan.

What he paid was nuts and fruits produced by the forest, and soy sauce and fruit wine produced by the kingdom. Just because the halflings' demand for these increased, the price naturally increased.

The price of grain also rose accordingly because of Attilan's large purchases.

In fact, there were still the same amount of supplies for both the halflings and Attilan, a portion of soy sauce, a portion of grain, the change wasn't significant, but for the dwarves, who hadn't participated in this trading system, the price of grain had indeed risen.

With Attilan's manipulation, the only ones hurt were the dwarves.

In order to fuel the rebellion of the Duke of the Northern Kingdom, Attilan also sold him a batch of grain purchased from the halflings at a high price. The grain business was already difficult to do. The longer the transportation distance, the greater the cost.

The halfling town on the northern riverbank should have sold the grain to the Duke of the West nearby; that would have been the right choice.

Attilan shook his head.

"The situation around us seems to be unstable recently. Everyone doesn't have enough grain to eat in peacetime. When encountering war, they naturally need to store more grain to get through the difficulties."

"Don't worry, I will try my best to ensure that no one starves to death in the Dwarf Kingdom."

Attilan would definitely ensure that the citizens of Atlantis were fed before considering lending the excess grain to the dwarves. He would never do something like not feeding his own family and pretending to be generous by supporting other countries.

Originally, Attilan wanted to fly back with Loki, but thinking about the surrounding temperature, if he flew with Loki, he would only bring back a frozen Loki, not the Frost Giant Loki.

He could only find a few pieces of clothing to wrap Loki up in and have a centaur carry him on his back to return slowly. He had to go back first to ask about the Frost Giant issue.

After returning to the forest, Attilan found the knowledgeable Bloodscar as soon as possible and told him about the situation he had encountered.

Bloodscar frowned and said:

"Several hundred more Frost Giant youths, and the elders and children who should have been there are gone. With the coming and going, there's a grain shortage. The originally scattered Frost Giants have been united."

"It doesn't sound like the Cloud Giants' style, but more like the Storm Giants. The elders and children you're looking for should be in the sky, in the clouds above the area where the Frost Giants originally lived."

"Frost Giants don't farm, but Cloud Giants do, but Cloud Giants will only use the giant clan hierarchy to drive the existing Frost Giants. They won't try to expand the number of giants or gather them together for training."

"If it's the Storm Giants, then the problem is tricky."

"That's right."

Storm Giants aren't about how strong they are, but about their natural position at the top of giant society, which allows them to easily unite most of the giants.

Giants will unconditionally obey the orders of higher-level giants.

Even if the Cloud Giants usually like to act like tigers, thinking of themselves as giant nobles, once the Storm Giants give an order, the Cloud Giants can only listen.

"Cloud Giants are responsible for commanding, Fire Giants are responsible for forging weapons and acting as front-line commanders, Frost Giants and Stone Giants act as soldiers, and Storm Giants unite them."

"Even if you, the dwarves, and the elves unite to attack, you probably won't be a match for the giants, but it seems that the giants don't plan to start a full-scale war."

"The giants probably also want to obtain this world, but everyone is unwilling to see the giants and dragons, who are like a plate of loose sand, reunite, so this war is being fought covertly."

"Even the Fire Giants have been withdrawn. You probably won't even see the Cloud Giants. The ending should be the same as the many times the dwarves and Frost Giants fought, with no result."

Attilan understood. Bloodscar meant to wait a while longer, and after the dwarves' losses reached the standard, the Frost Giants would retreat.

"Then I'll go down and see how the farmland is recovering."

Of course, Attilan didn't go directly to check the farmland. The food and drink in the snow peaks these days had been too poor. He felt it was necessary to reward his stomach first.

As soon as he entered the kitchen, he saw Taishan holding a large pig's trotter and gnawing on it.

"Why are you back?"

As he spoke, he handed the half-eaten trotter to Attilan.

"Want to eat?"

"Keep it for yourself. Why did you run down instead of cultivating on Bright Peak?"

Taishan took a frustrated bite of the pork knuckle.

"Don't mention it. Bright Peak is too boring, there's not even anyone to talk to me."

Attilan looked Taishan up and down, making Taishan feel uneasy.

"What do you want to do?"

Taishan was good at Titan Transformation, which would help with cultivating Frost Titans. The climate environment of Bright Peak was also very suitable for Little Loki's growth.

It's decided, it's Taishan!

"Congratulations, you're going to be a father."

"Ah!"

Taishan was so surprised that he almost didn't catch the pig's trotter in his hand.

"What father! I don't even have a girlfriend, where did the child come from?"

Attilan continued with a smile:

"Actually, many people want to skip the steps of finding a girlfriend and getting married, and directly have a child of their own, and the child I'm going to give you."

"Is a highland cub with Frost Titan blood that I found in the snow mountains. When he grows up, he will be most suitable for you to cultivate Titan Transformation with."

Just the condition of a child with the talent to cultivate Titan Transformation had already moved Taishan.

"Although I'm letting you be this child's father, it doesn't mean I'll ignore him. I believe everyone in the forest will be very willing to help you take care of this child together."

Taishan nodded, clenched his fists, and shouted:

"I agree, but I don't want to be a father, I'll be his master, what do you think?"

"Not good, do you think you're qualified to accept disciples and be someone's master with your current strength? Are you sure you won't corrupt the child?"

Taishan looked weakly at Attilan, and finally sighed.

"Okay, father it is, when he grows up, I can still be his master."

"That's right, you can only be a father to this one, maybe you can be a master to the next one."

"The next one?"
