The Plane Merchant of Hogwarts
Chapter 223 This Moody is not right!
In the few days after returning to Hogwarts, Rolf returned to his normal study life, but this time he included learning the Bubble Charm into his plan.
Everyone knows that Professor Snape particularly wants to teach Defense Against the Dark Arts, but he has failed to get the job four times in a row.
Snape was dissatisfied with several previous Defense Against the Dark Arts teachers, and his emotions were clearly written on his face.
However, when he faced Mad-Eye Moody, he seemed to be extra careful not to let this emotion show up.
Whenever the young wizards saw the two of them on the same occasion, such as when eating or passing each other in the corridor, they clearly felt that Snape was avoiding Moody's eyes.
Whether it was the magical fake eye or the normal eye, it seemed that Professor Snape did not dare to look directly at him.
Today is the first Defense Against the Dark Arts lesson for Hufflepuff's fourth-year students, and they are all eagerly looking forward to Moody's first lesson.
After lunch on Thursday, before the school bell rang, they queued up early outside Moody's classroom.
They all looked forward to this professor from the Magic Defense class being able to teach them some real skills like Professor Lupine.
Rolf was flipping through a copy of "Dark Powers: A Guide to Self-Defense" in front of him. The classroom was extremely quiet, and it seemed that the little wizards were a little nervous.
Soon, they heard Moody's distinctive "thump, thump, thump, thump" footsteps coming along the corridor.
He walked into the classroom, looking as weird and scary as ever, and Rolf could just see his claw-like wooden feet peeking out from under his robes.
If he hadn't known that he was a wizard, he would have been mistaken for a pirate captain or something like that.
"Put these things away," he said gruffly, leaning on crutches as he trudged to the podium and sat down. "You don't need these textbooks."
The little wizards immediately became excited when they heard this. The power of this sentence was like saying that the math teacher was sick and this PE class was normal.
Moody took out the roster, shook his head, shook his long gray hair away from his twisted and scarred face, and then started taking roll call before class.
His normal eye moved down the list, while his magical eye kept turning around, staring at each student who responded.
"Rolf Scamander?!" Moody's fake eyes scanned the whole class and finally found Rolf. He said in a voice that he thought only he could hear:
"Scamander? A descendant of a prisoner of Azkaban? No wonder I haven't seen him in school before." After saying that, he laughed softly.
He thought no one could hear him, but he still underestimated Rolf's hearing.
"Okay," he said after the last student finished answering, "I received a letter from Professor Lu Ping introducing the situation of this course.
It seems that you have mastered a lot of basic knowledge on how to deal with dark magical animals, so you have learned to deal with boggarts, red hats, hinkpunks, grindylows, Cabba and werewolves, right?"
He continued today's lesson from the front, but Rolf's mind suddenly became confused... Descendants of Azkaban prisoners?
He's saying that my father was a prisoner of Azkaban? That's not right. I clearly saw him and my mother being killed by Death Eaters with my own eyes?
He kept frowning tightly, trying hard to think about what that sentence meant. Suddenly, he had a flash of inspiration and thought of the voice he heard in Riddle House.
"But you still haven't learned enough about how to deal with spells. I should say it's very inadequate," Moody said.
"Therefore, I am going to let you experience the spells cast by wizards. I have one year to teach you how to deal with dark magic..." Moody continued.
"Okay, let's get back to the point. Spells have many forms, and their magic power is different.
Originally, according to the regulations of the Ministry of Magic, I was supposed to teach you all kinds of breaking spells, that's all.
Logically speaking, since you are not in sixth grade, I shouldn't tell you what illegal black magic spells look like, because you are still young and cannot deal with this set of things.
But Professor Dumbledore greatly praised your courage. He thinks you can deal with it, and in my opinion, the sooner you understand what you have to deal with, the better.
If you have never seen something, how can you protect yourself from it?
If a wizard wants to recite an illegal spell for you, he will not tell you his plan. He will not recite the spell for you in a frank, fair and polite manner.
You must be prepared and alert! Also, I hope you'd better concentrate when I'm talking, okay, Mr. Scamander?"
Rolf was startled by the sudden roll call and immediately withdrew from his thinking state. He looked directly at Professor Moody's normal eye, but he only saw a trace of disdain...
"So... do any of you know which spells will be punished the most severely by wizarding laws?" After Professor Moody looked at him, he didn't pay much attention to him and continued to teach the class.
But the fake eye kept staring at Rolf strangely, as if he was quite interested in Rolf.
Descendants of Prisoners of Azkaban, what aroused his interest?
Rolf's eyes did not move, he looked directly at him and raised his hand. Sure enough, Moody pointed at Rolf, but this time his normal eye also looked at Rolf.
"The three major unforgivable curses: the Death Curse, the Soul-stealing Curse, and the Unforgivable Curse. Of course, if you have cast the Dark Mark, you will probably be severely punished by the Ministry of Magic."
Rolf noticed that Moody's expression did not change when he mentioned the three unforgivable curses, but he did show a trace of doubt when he mentioned the Dark Mark.
There's something wrong with this Moody!
He's not Crouch Jr!
After Moody casually gave Hufflepuff five points, he stood up with difficulty on his prosthetic legs, opened the drawer of the podium, and took out a glass bottle. There were three big black spiders crawling inside.
Moody reached into the bottle, grabbed a spider, and held it in his open palm for everyone to see. Then he pointed his wand at it and murmured, "Out of Body!"
The spider jumped away from Moody's hand, hung on a thin thread, and began to swing back and forth as if it were sitting on a high swing.
It straightened its legs stiffly, then turned around and turned over, and the filaments were broken.
It fell on the table and began to do somersaults in circles. Moody flicked his wand, and it stood up on its two hind legs and danced a kind of tap dance. Yes, it was a tap dance.
