Chapter 32 Resolving Unpleasantness
Bill Fitch stared at the observation notes given to him by K.C Jones. It is no exaggeration to say that this was the key factor that helped them win the opening game.
The two core points, never mind Moses Malone, locked in Calvin Murphy's breakthrough and digitally divided Murphy's breakthrough lines. This allowed Fitch to design a defense based on Murphy's breakthrough tendencies.
Murphy was misfiring, and no matter how many rebounds Malone grabbed, it would be useless.
He didn't expect that this observation record was written by K.C. Jones. This guy didn't seem to be such a careful person.
"K.C, I want to thank you. Your observation report was of great help!" Fitch was about to praise K.C, but the other party pushed his hand and said, "I did not make this report."
Fitch asked in confusion: "You didn't do it?"
"How can I have this ability...observe the game and take notes at the same time? Bill, this kind of observation ability is not something I have." K.C revealed the answer, "It was Louis who did it."
"That 19-year-old brat?"
"That's right," K.C felt that the time was ripe, "Don't underestimate him just because of his age. This kid has real abilities."
The reason for Fitch's contempt is simple. All sports require people with sufficient experience and experience to make contributions in the professional field.
And Louis' resume in the basketball industry is too shallow.
He participated in the varsity team in high school, but when he was at Ohio State University, he was eliminated without even passing the preliminary test.
"He's only 19 years old..." What happened today was beyond Fitch's understanding.
"Well, last year he originally wanted to go to Cleveland to interview for a scouting job." K.C joked, "For the same reason, the Cavaliers' reviewers didn't even let him see you, so he came to Boston."
Fitch burst into laughter. It sounded like he just made a mistake that most people would make.
However, he will not apologize to Louis for this.
His principle is to be straightforward. Being a 19-year-old assistant coach is an unreasonable thing. Only when Louis proves his talents to him can he use his talents with confidence.
The next day, the team trained at the Greek Academy.
Louis and John Long each held a ball and competed for three points on the edge of the court.
Louis had experience in the school team in high school. Although he is 1.9 meters tall, his athletic ability is average and his basic skills are not good, so he can only play inside.
The problem is, Louis also likes to float outside and shoot to avoid confrontation.
He shot farther and farther, and by the time he graduated from high school, his shooting range had reached the edge of the future NBA three-point line.
So now the three-point line is a little farther out than before, but I got used to it quickly.
Unlike players like Long who never considered extending his shooting range before entering the NBA, his three-pointers are very accurate.
"That's outrageous, Lu, I feel you are more accurate than Larry!" Lang's feeling must be wrong.
But he said so, and Louis was very happy.
"If you feel this way, it means you haven't practiced enough." Louis reminded him to practice harder.
Long has his own difficulties: "Bill doesn't like me shooting three-pointers."
This is a problem. If Fitch prohibits him from shooting, it will be useless no matter how well he practices.
Suddenly, Lang stopped talking, as honest as a prey that had been taken away seven inches.
It turned out that Fitch came to them.
"Lu, let's talk?" Fitch rarely put on a kind face in the training hall.
"Keep training, don't be lazy." Louis warned Lang before following Fitch.
Fitch seemed very easy-going. If Louis hadn't seen with his own eyes how he guided training, he might have been deceived by his current appearance.
If this person could be related to being easy-going, there would be no uneasy-going person in the world.
"I heard that you asked John to practice the three-pointer?" Fitch asked.
"Yes." Louis admitted simply.
"What's the point of this?" Fitch sneered at this new food. "The three-point line is a stupid product. Not many people will accept it. It doesn't belong in basketball."
How should such a stubborn conservative reason with him?
Louis doesn't think there's anything to say, so just explain it to him in a more conservative way.
"Dr. Naismith originally invented basketball for women to play, but now it is men who dominate this sport." Louis said lightly.
Fitch was stunned by what he said, but it wasn't over yet.
"The basketball rules we know now didn't exist at the beginning." Louis said slowly, "Aren't they accepted by everyone now?"
Fitch smiled: "Arnold is right, you really have a sharp mouth."
"It's just nonsense. Don't take it to heart. If you don't like John practicing three-pointers, you can ask him to stop at any time. I have no objection." Louis didn't like Fitch's behavior, but if he wanted to be
As for the coach, the other party is a good learning object.
Therefore, if you can't offend him, don't offend him.
"Forget it, he can practice if he wants to. This thing is too new and he can't shoot a few times in a game." Fitch opened the window to chat with Louis through Long's incident, "Lu, K.C told me that in the first half of yesterday
Then you gave him an observation report."
Louis smiled bitterly and said: "He really can't hide anything."
"It's important, that report helped us win against Houston, and that's just the result of you looking at the first half." Fitch asked strangely, "I really want to know how you did it, as far as I know,
Your basketball resume ends in high school."
Louis himself had many questions about this matter.
Before traveling through time, he was responsible for helping the Xinjiang Youth Team run domestic talents, and would occasionally contact American foreign aid. But his main business was youth training.
And he doesn't play basketball very much. He relies on his eyes to see young talents, and he rarely makes mistakes.
Perhaps, he really used his talent in the wrong place.
"I don't know, I just recorded what I saw and what I thought." Louis said purely, "It would be great if it can help."
Fitch began to understand Auerbach's arrangement for Louis.
It was unheard of for a 19-year-old assistant coach. If he didn't have such a convenient potential, the arrogant old man probably wouldn't have gone so far.
"The help you can bring is beyond your imagination," Fitch vaguely felt that he would rely heavily on Louis in the future. "Do you have any plans to coach in the future?"
Louis smiled lightly and said: "If there is a chance, why not?"
"Ha!" Fitch smiled, "Although I haven't achieved any real achievements in this field, if you don't understand anything, you can ask me at any time and I will definitely tell you everything."
He did not apologize for the slights he had shown in the past few days, but instead used things that Louis was more interested in to resolve the unpleasantness between them.
