The rise of great powers: starting from military industry
Chapter 346 Military Training
Panshan Machinery Factory.
The original location of the combined battalion is currently undergoing student military training.
The Panshan system implements semi-militarized management.
Workers must regularly organize military training, including target shooting training. Not only men, but women must also receive military training.
The hospital will teach women some simple battlefield rescue methods, such as disinfection, bandaging, injections, and acupuncture.
Students will organize military training in September every year. Primary school students are fine, just some basics, and when they start junior high school, military training includes night marches, military boxing, target shooting, etc.
At this time, the military training is for middle school students.
As a weapons industry system, in the Panshan system, unless the children of the factory really don’t want to study, it is not difficult to go to high school or technical secondary school.
Then after taking the college entrance examination, most of them will choose colleges in the weapons system, and some will go to other industrial colleges.
And the particularly outstanding ones will be recommended to famous schools such as Tsinghua University, Peking University, Harbin Institute of Technology, and Northwestern Polytechnical University.
Panshan Group will naturally not be without gains from the annual computer donations and scientific research cooperation, that is, each prestigious school has a certain number of recommended admissions.
Of course, the recommended admissions will not be random, and the recommended students are excellent in both character and learning.
Even some extremely outstanding students will be sent to Hong Kong or European and American prestigious schools for further studies after graduating from college in China.
After stopping to look for a while, Liu Tao nodded slightly.
Yunnan Province is different from other places. It belongs to the southwestern frontier and bears the important responsibility of defending the country. In an emergency, it is necessary to mobilize urgently to fight on the front line, so as to persist until the arrival of reinforcements from the rear.
Although the possibility of this situation has become increasingly low, this possibility always exists.
Therefore, Panshan Group has always invested a lot of effort in the establishment of the armed forces, and has invested a lot of energy every year in the military training of factory employees and students.
He hopes that while there are advanced weapons and equipment, there are also brave soldiers and soldiers who are good at fighting.
If the soldiers only have advanced weapons and equipment but are weak and have no courage to fight, then they are still a strawberry army that is vulnerable.
Then they left and went to various schools.
Every primary school is conducting military training. The content of military training for different grades is different. Different military training contents are formulated according to different ages to ensure that children will not be hurt.
Those who conduct military training for students are all personnel from the Armed Forces.
The Armed Forces is also a major department of Panshan Group. The three combined brigades, the security personnel of each factory, and even the public security of each factory are all under the jurisdiction of the Armed Forces.
Overseas security companies are also all under the jurisdiction of the Armed Forces.
Those who can be in the Armed Forces are either active soldiers, active public security officers, or retired soldiers.
Once it is really needed, the Armed Forces can immediately pull up a force to fight on the front line.
Look around the entire Panshan Machinery Factory and chat with grassroots personnel to understand the situation.
This is what he saw and heard personally to understand the most real thing, so as to prevent the people below from deceiving the superiors and the subordinates.
He always believed in the words of the great man that the eyes of the people are sharp.
Whether it is a good cadre or a bad cadre, the people have the most say.
The cadres who are scolded and criticized by the people are most likely bad cadres. Such cadres must be dealt with. If they are corrupt or violate regulations and disciplines, they must be dealt with. The worst case is to demote them or send them to farms or pig farms for labor reform.
The cadres praised by the people are most likely good cadres and should be trained and promoted.
Liu Tao did this to deter these cadres, so that they would remember the five words "serve the people" and to deter the discipline inspection team so that they would not dare to neglect their duties.
After inspecting another batch of weapons, ammunition and heavy equipment, Liu Tao left Panshan Machinery Factory and went to Kunshi to take a plane to Yangcheng.
First, he went to the shipyard, tested the latest batch of Type 022 missile boats, and inspected the situation of the shipyard.
After staying for a day, Liu Tao went to Pengcheng.
The design of the water supply and power supply project to Xiangjiang has been completed, and Xiangjiang and Guangdong Province have started coordination in Pengcheng.
The total investment in the water supply project is HK$20 billion, and the total investment in the power supply project is HK$20 billion.
As early as 1980, China Power and Guangdong Nuclear Power Group cooperated to establish Guangdong Nuclear Power Joint Venture Co., Ltd., in which China Power held a 25% stake. At the same time, Xiangjiang purchased 45% of the electricity, so after the completion of Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station, 70% of the electricity was transmitted to Xiangjiang.
However, Daya Bay Nuclear Power Station was not completed until 1995.
This time, Xiangjiang invested HK$20 billion to transmit more electricity from the mainland to Xiangjiang. At the same time, Xiangjiang Water Group invested HK$10 billion to transmit more fresh water from the mainland to Xiangjiang.
Although Xiangjiang has been developing rapidly, it is actually limited by water and electricity.
Many people think that Hong Kong has not developed a decent industry. One of the important reasons is that Hong Kong lacks water and electricity. If Hong Kong wants to develop industry, the current water supply and power supply capacity of Hong Kong are not enough to support it.
The construction of water supply and power supply projects now is also for the future development of Hong Kong, laying a solid foundation for the rapid development of Hong Kong in the future.
As for the thermal power that originally accounted for the majority of Xiangjiang, he had no plans to do so because the pollution was too serious and it would be detrimental to the future development of Xiangjiang.
Xiangjiang's terrain is mainly hilly, with less flat land. About 20% of the land is lowland, mainly concentrated in the northern New Territories, namely Yuen Long Plain and Fanling Lowland, both of which are impact plains formed naturally by rivers. The average annual rainfall in Xiangjiang is 2214.3mm, with the highest rainfall in August and the lowest rainfall in January. Although the territory is mountainous, the rivers are short and shallow, and the catchment area is only one-third of the land area. The surface runoff is very small. The average annual catchment area is about 100 million m3, and the highest year is only 1.7 billion m3. In addition, the rainfall is unevenly distributed, mostly concentrated in the flood season, and the water source is lost quickly, which is difficult to intercept and store, resulting in the inability of streams in the territory to provide stable and sufficient water sources.
Before, Xiangjiang collected raw water into the reservoir through the catchment area, but this could only ensure the water supply of major urban areas, and there was no way to ensure water supply in many places.
One of the important reasons why Xiangjiang has not experienced a large-scale water outage and can still ensure water supply to the entire city is the Dongshen Water Supply Project.
The Dongshen Water Supply Project was started on February 2, 1964, completed on February 27, 1965, and officially supplied water to Xiangjiang on March 1, 1965. The initial project was located in Dongguan and Pengcheng, with the water intake point at the Dongjiang River in Qiaotou Town, Dongguan. Through 6 dams, 8 pumping stations and 83 kilometers of water supply rivers, canals and pipelines, the Dongjiang water was raised 46 meters and then flowed into the Pengcheng Reservoir, and then connected to Xiangjiang through a 3.5-kilometer water supply steel pipe for water supply.
At the beginning, the project supplied 68.2 million cubic meters of water to Xiangjiang annually. With the development of Xiangjiang's economy and society, the water supply continued to increase, and the project was expanded in the 1970s.
However, Xiangjiang now has a population of 5.35 million, and the population will continue to grow in the next three or four decades.
The expanded Dongshen Water Supply Project is obviously not enough to meet the needs.
