The rise of great powers: starting from military industry

Chapter 517 Guilt (asking for monthly tickets and rewards)

Liu Tao saw that the old man was in a good mood, and took the opportunity to bring up the matter of Saudi Arabia's purchase of medium-range ballistic missiles.

The old man took out a cigarette, lit it and smoked it, revealing a thoughtful look.

Medium-range ballistic missiles, for major military powers, are national treasures.

Medium-range ballistic missiles are absolutely genuine high-tech weapons, and there are only a handful of them in the world that can be developed.

This is not a small matter, but a big matter!

"What do you think?" The old man looked at the two leaders of the China Ordnance Industry Corporation. After all, they are experts in the weapons industry, although they are in the weapons industry, not the aerospace industry.

"Leaders, it must not be exported. Who in the world exports medium-range ballistic missiles?" Zou Jiahua said without hesitation.

No country in the world exports medium-range ballistic missiles.

There is no precedent for this.

"Yes, medium-range ballistic missiles, we only served them more than ten years ago!" said another leader.

China's missile history has developed very fast, so fast that it is incredible.

The early source of China's ballistic missile technology was the P1 and P2 missile technology provided by the Soviet Union. Its domestic imitation model was the Dongfeng 1. The Dongfeng 1 was successfully tested in 1960. It has never been equipped. Through it, China has fully mastered missile technology and established a missile research and development system.

Dongfeng 2 is China's first independently developed ballistic missile, NATO number CSS-1, range 1250 kilometers, warhead 1.5 tons, nuclear warhead equivalent 20,000 tons. In 1960, Marshal Nie proposed to study a missile with a range of 1000 to 1200 kilometers based on the P series missiles. Test firing began in 1962 and completed in 1964.

The most glorious thing about Dongfeng 2 is that in 1966, its improved version carried a real nuclear warhead for a two-bomb combination test. The success of the test marked that China has fully mastered missile nuclear weapon technology. Even more than 30 years later, including India, it cannot be said that it has mastered this technology.

While the Dongfeng-2 shocked the world, what puzzled intelligence agencies of various countries was that it was not deployed in large numbers.

Of course, the reason for this is that as a short-range missile, the Dongfeng-2 not only uses liquid fuel, but also must be refueled before launch, which is not suitable.

For this reason, in 1966, Marshal Nie decided to produce as few Dongfeng-2s as possible and to produce more Dongfeng-3s in the future.

Dongfeng-3, NATO designation CSS-2, is the first medium-range ballistic missile independently developed by China, with a range of 2,800 kilometers and a thermonuclear warhead with a yield of 3 million tons. It was developed in March 1965, tested in 1966, successfully developed in 1967, and put into service in May 1971.

Dongfeng 4, NATO designation CSS-3, is China's first medium- and long-range missile. The basic model has a range of 4,000 kilometers, and the improved model has a range of 7,000 kilometers. It uses a 2,200-kilogram 3 million-ton equivalent thermonuclear warhead, or uses multiple sub-missile warheads, each with a warhead mass of about 50,000 to 100,000 tons. Development began in 1964, the experiment was successful in 1970, and the Dongfeng 4 force was formed in 1971 and then deployed in Qinghai and other bases in the northwest.

As for who the deterrence target is, it goes without saying that everyone knows it.

Dongfeng 5, NATO designation CSS-4, Dongfeng 5 intercontinental ballistic missile is my country's first intercontinental launch ballistic missile. Since its service, it has been the center of my country's nuclear strike force. This missile began to be developed in 1965 and uses storable liquid fuel. Unlike previous missiles, it was tested in 1971, and multiple telemetry missile tests were conducted in 1972. It was successfully developed in 1980. The warhead equivalent is 4 million tons of TNT, and the range reaches 12,000 kilometers.

From the 1960s to the 1970s, China started developing short-range, medium-range, medium-long-range and intercontinental missiles at almost the same time, and then they all achieved success quickly.

Not to mention the 'Eagle Strike' series of anti-ship missiles and 'Aegis' series of air defense missiles developed by Liu Tao, which have reached the world's leading level.

"What do you think?" The old man looked at Liu Tao.

Liu Tao smiled, "My opinion is that it can be exported!"

"Well?" Zou Jiahua and the others couldn't help but look at Liu Tao.

Liu Tao, this bold young man, dares to sell everything.

Before, he sold guns, tanks, self-propelled anti-aircraft guns, and now he sells advanced warships.

Good guy, now he even dares to sell medium-range ballistic missiles!

Fortunately, Panshan Group does not produce medium-range missiles, otherwise it might have been negotiated and signed the contract agreement, and the report was made after the execution.

"Leader, missiles have a shelf life!" Liu Tao couldn't help but remind.

Missiles also have a shelf life, or in other words, missiles and nuclear weapons have a shelf life.

Normally, the shelf life of missiles is usually around 20 to 25 years, and the shelf life of nuclear weapons is around 30 years. The shelf life of different propellants is also different, such as liquid missiles have a longer shelf life.

The humidity and temperature of the storage location will also affect the shelf life of missiles.

"What's more, this time Saudi Arabia is preparing to spend 5 billion US dollars to buy medium-range ballistic missiles." Liu Tao reminded, "That's 5 billion US dollars, not a small amount!"

"5 billion US dollars!?" The old man couldn't help but stand up, "Is Saudi Arabia planning to buy 500 Dongfeng-3s?"

The current cost of the Dongfeng-3 missile is about 1 million US dollars per missile.

If China wants to sell it, it will be about 10 million US dollars per missile.

Just like that sentence, if there is a 10% profit, it is guaranteed to be used everywhere; with a 20% profit, it will be active; with a 50% profit, it will take risks; for 100% profit, it will dare to trample on all human laws; with a 300% profit, it will dare to commit any crime, even the risk of being hanged.

The cost is 1 million US dollars, and it is sold for 10 million US dollars. This is already a 900% profit!

Such a high profit can make the devil push the mill.

Liu Tao rolled his eyes. Sure enough, the generation that led them still didn't understand what a rich man is.

"What 500 Dongfeng-3s! At most 35 Dongfeng-3s!" Liu Tao said, "Then we help them build missile launch bases and train their personnel"

Liu Tao has learned the inside story. In order to build their strategic deterrence capabilities, Saudi Arabia has budgeted a full 5 billion US dollars, and only wanted to buy 25 missiles, but in the end it only spent 100 million US dollars per missile, which made Saudi Arabia shout that it was very cheap.

China originally planned to sell it for 10 million US dollars per coin, and was ready to let the other party bargain.

After all, China has always been particular about asking for a high price and paying it back on the spot!

As a result, Saudi Arabia mistakenly thought that it was 100 million US dollars per coin and agreed immediately, which made China dumbfounded.

The leader hesitated, "Comrade Liu Tao, this... this is not good, Saudi Arabia has established diplomatic relations with us, and we have signed a bilateral trade agreement, which is a friendly partnership!"

"This is too bullying. How can we cooperate in the future if we sell it at such a high price?" The leader felt too guilty.

"Yes, it's not good to treat friends like this?" The old man also looked hesitant.

It's too guilty to make this money.

Liu Tao was a little dumbfounded. Wouldn't it be better to make more money?

In his opinion, the price of a commodity depends mainly on whether the customer thinks it is worth it. If the customer thinks it is worth it, then he will be very satisfied. How could it affect the relationship between the two parties?

Is it that good things have to be sold at a bargain price?

Liu Tao vaguely understood why the price of any product made by China was always very low, and the price of any material needed by China would soar.

I don't know whether it should be called a kind of conscience or a kind of great wisdom.
