Once this large petrochemical base is completed, the crude oil refining capacity of the refinery here alone will reach 2 million barrels/day, that is, the annual crude oil refining capacity will reach 100 million tons!

In addition to processing gasoline and other oil products, the refinery here can also produce gaseous fuels, synthetic gas, petrochemical products, lubricants and asphalt raw materials.

After years of continuous investment, the land reclamation project is nearing completion.

Liu Tao also saw a 400,000-ton tanker pumping oil into the refinery on the helicopter.

This is not the only chemical base under construction by Panshan Group, but one of the three major bases.

There are two other chemical bases under construction located on an island in the Beibu Gulf and an island in Zhenhai, Yongcheng, Zhejiang Province, both of which have a total designed crude oil refining capacity of 2 million barrels/day.

Most of the oil shipped from the Persian Gulf is shipped to Panshan Group's own refineries, which then supply oil to the whole country and export oil to Japan, South Korea and Southeast Asia.

These three major chemical bases are not built on land, but on islands, and some even resort to reclaiming land from the sea. This is naturally because refineries have pollution problems and are generally not built in densely populated areas.

Even though these three petrochemical bases use the world's most advanced processing methods and the most environmentally friendly technologies to control pollution as much as possible, they still cannot completely eliminate pollution. They can only ensure that they will not affect the surrounding land.

And these three petrochemical bases, as well as many large and medium-sized refineries, are all under the jurisdiction of China Petroleum Group.

After the inspection here, Liu Tao took a helicopter to Yangcheng Shipyard.

This time he came to Yangcheng not to inspect the construction of the petrochemical base, but to attend the groundbreaking ceremony of the '001-type' light aircraft carrier.
